Came here for the 1st time with some business friends for lunch right at 11:30am. I HIGHLY recommend coming when the restaurant first opens because there was quite a lunch rush! This restaurant is right on the corner entering Old Town Tustin. There is a cute outdoor dining area. We sat inside with the cool air conditioning. The interior was decorated with a lot of Peruvian art and decor which was very sweet. The waitress was very sweet, took our order quickly, very attentive, continually refilling our drinks! They come to your table with bread to start and the spicy cilantro creamy sauce, which is a Peruvian staple. We all got the same thing Beef (Lomo) Saltado which is a very popular Peruvian dish, VERY GOOD. We got a side of Cilantro Rice instead of regular white rice which was such a great flavor! We also tried the Yucca Fritas (not photographed) and it was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If you enjoy a little kick of spice, I highly suggest pouring the spicy cilantro sauce on EVERYTHING you order. So so good! We will be coming back again! read more

My wife and I decided to try this place for lunch. Clean and nicely decorated place. Small restaurant in a strip mall off Newport Boulevard near the 5 freeway. We both ordered the lunch specials for $15.95 each. I ordered the "Chaufa Special": Peruvian fried rice with chicken or steak (I chose the chicken), scrambled eggs, green onions, ginger and black bean sauce. My wife ordered the "Col Saltado": Sautéed steak strips or chicken breast (she chose the steak) with cabbage, onions, bell peppers, ginger and soy sauce, served with white or brown rice (she chose brown rice). Both came with a cup of hearty Chicken Aguadito Soup. And they served complementary bread with a spicy Peruvian green sauce. The service was good. Friendy waitress and quick service. Both of us enjoyed the meal. With two refillable sodas (@$4 each), tax and a 20% tip it came out to about $50.00. Pricey for a casual lunch spot, but the food was well portioned, flavorful, warm, fresh, and the proteins seemed to be of good quality. Clean rest rooms too. read more

I don't know much about Peruvian food, but I know home food when I taste one. The kind ladies that work here made me feel like I'm back my mom's place being asked if I want more food. Including the atmosphere, I appreciate how clean and nice this palace is kept. If you ever get a chance to stop by Tustin please give this place a try. read more

Omg even the flan was perfectly creamy. Top everything off, Patricia was very welcoming and informative of our questions cuz it was our first time here. We would recommend this place and hope you meet Patricia, she was pleasant and sweet. read more

Glad i walked in to check this place out. I love Peruvian food and go to a bunch in Los Angeles and the greater area so i wanted to come see this place for myself. Always have to start with a Inca kola and fried calamari and it didn't disappoint. The fact that they put onions and tomatoes on top of the calamari was a nice surprise and their aji was excellent. You do get bread served in the beginning but no butter , but that's ok since the aji is there. Went with the steak tallarin and it was very good, every peruvian place differs in the noodle they use and this one was a little different but the flavor was there. They have an excellent menu and look forward to going back for the pescado macho plate. Service was awesome, friendly staff and the food came out pretty fast. Nice table seating inside as well as the side patio, it looks like there isnt enough seating but there is. They have all the basics and even a great kids menu as well. Def going back again . read more

Upon walking in we were greeted by extremely friendly Alex. We were also offered their complimentary bread with Peruvian sauce (normally would be too spicy, but I handled it). They were ready to take order for us but unfortunately we are not Peruvian cuisine experts so we had to ask for some recommendations (other than what we saw from Yelp). He suggested the Lomo Salgato and tamarins verdes con pol I think I met the owner. I can't remember how we got to talking but she made recommendations we ended up loving! The Pisco Sour consisted of pisco, lime juice, and pasteurized egg whites, blended with ice - we happened to come on a Thursday (happy hour for $9)! She suggested substituting lime with passion fruit and so we did. It was 5/5!!! I want that to be my go-to drink from now on. So refreshing! She said it was a signature Peruvian drink. Eating here was an experience and we enjoyed the food. read more

We love this place. The staff is so kind and welcoming and have been able to accommodate our gluten free needs well. Just ask them and they will help and they even have gluten free soy sauce to make some of their most popular dishes gluten friendly. They don't have separate fryers so keep that in mind if you are celiac. We have really enjoyed everything we have gotten here and even our kids love it and finish their plates. It place itself is lovely and there is a full wall of beautiful Peruvian images and art everywhere. This is a regular place for us and we will definitely be coming back! read more

The food was great! The ambiance was clean and inviting. The service was exemplary! Everything was cooked to perfection. The meat on my beef saltado could use a little more quantity on my plate instead of more fries. The highlight of meal was the bistec and fried rice. It truly is authentic and so good. We will definitely be back for more food. Parking is a bit challenging though. read more

Please keep in mind I am not Peruvian expert by any means- so if you're looking for a review on authentic food, unfortunately, I cannot provide that. However, for my first time trying Peruvian food I was very impressed with this place! The two owners were the sweetest, and sat our large party quickly outside. They served us with warmth, grace and humor. The outside seating was beautiful, and they have heaters and aesthetic lighting provided. Every single plate we ordered was delicious, and I felt the portion sizes were more than fair. When it comes to desserts, I highly recommend the flan. I'm not even a flan type of person typically and this was delicious. Please be aware that the sauce provided with the bread is spicy, it's not an avocado cream sauce like I had assumed. Thank you for the beautiful experience! read more

I've found my new happy place! The food was delicious! I had a shrimp and rice dish that had lots of shrimp. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable...also very accommodating. The only downside was the tiny parking lot but I found the last space in the lot. Will definitely go there for authentic Peruvian food. read more

Hubby and i are happy there's a Peruvian restaurant in Tustin! We have tasted Peruvian food in Palm Desert as well as Portland, OR. We were too late for the Lunch Specials on our first visit. The complimentary bread slices and spicy Aji Verde sauce were a nice starter. Hubby chose Lomo Saltado that he's enjoyed in the past. I selected the Chicken Inka Special. The yellow chili/garlic sauce was tasty and not overly spicy. The next time, we came for dinner. I got a beef empanada and a spinach/mozzarella empanada. They came with a nice chili lime dipping sauce. I tried the Maracuya Peruvian drink, which features passion fruit. Hubby added Aguadito soup to his Lomo Saltado dinner. Hubby thinks the price is a little high for the portion sizes, but I did not think they were excessive. Our server was pleasant, and she answered our questions about the food and their other 4 locations readily. This restaurant is small, but compact. It is on a busy street near the 5 freeway, and the parking lot fills up quickly. read more

This is the comparison of a $20 foodja order from another restaurant. I am genuinely disappointed that there is ZERO effort put into this. I will be telling my company to take this restaurant off the list. Now I know why 58 out of the 60 employees chose something else. What an absolute waste of $20. It's enough to feed a small child. Also the complimentary bread for multiple people was all shoved together inside a brown plastic bag touching napkins, utensils, and sauce cups. Disgusting. read more

We went here for my birthday earlier today and I am honestly a bit disappointed. I love inka mama's but this new location was a bit of a downer. The aji sauce was a bit watery. The bread was normal. My issue comes with asking for some room temperature water and not getting it until asking for it two more times. My go to dish is shrimp saltado, and this was just okay. I don't know how to explain it but saying it was fresh but not. The rice seemed a little old. The dish was missing that greatness I am used to. I also seemed rushed. They brought the check as we were eating even though there wasn't a rush inside. Then they picked up plates with bread and sauce even though it was still being eaten. Not sure why they wanted us out. Odd. read more

Haven been going to Inka Mama's for years now, used to visit their Santa Ana location close to the South Coast plaza. But since they opened up a location in Tustin, have been a regular here. I was so excited to try Mama Inkas in Tustin: I miss good authentic Peruvian food after spending many years in Trujillo. I asked if I could have papas a la huancaina with 1/2 papas & 1/2 yucca. A flat no, it's not done that way. I got all yucca & was amazed at the price: $17.00! The dish was ni hot, ni cold: just warmish. The sauce had no flavor, it seemed like Cheez-Whiz. There were just tiny pieces of egg & one olive. All in all, very disappointing. I'll be going back to my hole in the way favorite place in Anaheim. read more

Great delicious food and service is always on point. I always order to go and it's quick and ready for pick up. Staff is always friendly.

Likes: + Yummy mix of protein with fries and rice. + I like that the order comes with two pieces of bread and the yummy green sauce. I wonder if you could get more bread if you dined in. + Ordering online via DD saves $5 off orders $15+ for new customers. (Feb 2025) + Good amount of parking. + Plenty of indoor seating. + Conveniently located near the freeway. Non-likes: - A lot of carbs. Since there're both rice and fries in a saltado order, I think they could've reduced the rice & fries portions a little, and added in more meat. Keep the price the same. - A little pricey, for the okay quality of nutritional value. At least I saved the $5. - Their website doesn't have an option to directly order online. I had: $18.20 Saltado, chicken, brown rice + tax - $5 discount = $14.61 read more

I came here with coworkers for lunch on a day I was craving Peruvian food. This is a great restaurant from the art of the walls to the great food. Of course I did the llomo saltado. They do the plate really good here. The green sauce makes it all the better! Don't forget to order yourself a inka cola to go with your meal. The service was great and the food came out at a relatively good time. We left more than satisfied. Absolutely delicious. read more

My family and I have been loyal customers of their South Coast Plaza location for years and we are so excited for this new location. On Saturday, we drove out for boba (next door) and realized Inka Mama's was finally open! Yay! We walked over and only had to wait 20 min (because we requested inside). Love the decor and the modern look. Service was fantastic from hostess to busier to server. We ordered usual lomo saltado with upgraded beef, beef empanadas and Maracuyá. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back. read more

I lived in Tustin four years ago and imagine my surprise when I went back to visit and found this new restaurant there! I love Peruvian food but unfortunately have been disappointed several times. Not today, this place was outstanding and their seafood Saltado was perfect! Their empanadas were excellent too, we tried one of each, chicken and beef. Our server was so friendly, I think she may have been one of the owners because when I said I was so happy they had opened, she said it took a while because of all the paperwork and red tape. I wish this business all the success in the world. Great location right off the freeway, lots of parking and I love the vibe inside. read more

This location is finally open! Clean and spacious, decent size dinning room and several tables on the patio. Came on a Wednesday night and it was very busy. Our server was very nice and the manager had great recommendations, like the lamb dish in a stew sauce was delicious! The rice and beans were a little bland for me but the rest of the dish made up for it. We also order the mix appetizer. It was a lot of food for just the two of us but it was worth it. Their version on "fried chicken" was very flavorful, along with the pickled onions. Can never go wrong with an empanada and their tamales were moist and filled with plenty of chicken. The lomo saltado had A LOT of onions, which was a bummer for my husband but he still enjoyed it. Will definitely come back to try more options from their menu! read more

Decided to try this spot my dad found. The ambiance is nice, simple inside with an outdoor patio and lovely music. Prices are a bit high with some of the dishes. We were provided with a basket of bread, the aji was delicious with a real nice kick. We ordered the fish ceviche, one of my favorites. Sadly, I wasn't too impressed, it was $30 and made with halibut which gave it more of a fishy taste. My dad and I ordered the Cabrito Norteño, I absolutely loved it. The meat was tender, juicy and just the right seasonings, served with rice and beans. Delicious!! The Chicha morada was refreshing. The service was great, the staff very friendly and with a sense of humor. Overall, I enjoyed my dinner and if I'm in the area again, I may give it another go. read more

Tonight we dined in Tustin. Started with Happy Hour Menu Monday $4 for One Empanada $4 Beer on TapTonight Then we tried something new. The lamb was so tender and fell right off the bone. Food was amazing and delicious! I especially enjoyed the flavor of the saltados and the calamari. The crunch of the calamari paired well with the sourness of the sauce and tang of the onions. Highly recommend this as your appetizer. The saltados had great flavor! The onions, sauce, and fries were great. I would say, if you order beef as your protein, it may be on the tougher side. I would suggest the tenderloin instead. Service was ok. The server was nice and friendly. But we found ourselves waiting around to get his attention despite only having a few customers. read more

Inka Mama's Tustin location doesn't disappoint! Our second visit to this restaurant chain in a week (the first was to the Santa Ana location). The Tustin site is clean and crisp with traditional Peruvian flair. The cerbiche was delicious as always and we drank every drop of the leche de tigre. :) The waiter was surprised lol. Tucked in this small plaza of old town Tustin is another Inka Mamas! I've had this chain in other locations but happy to have one nearby. It's small but cute and clean inside. I can see parking could be a challenge if it were to be busier but didn't have any trouble on a weekend night. Ordered some staples the arroz con mariscos (seafood rice dish similar to paella) and a pasta verde with bistec (I think it's a spinach based green sauce? With cheese and spaghetti. And a fried think steak) Flavor was really good and of course they bring bread and that spicy delicious sauce for the table. Bread wasn't warm sadly but that's okay. Arroz con mariscos was cooked perfectly and the pickled onions are a refreshing must with the rice. I was a bit disappointed in my fried steak. It wasn't crunchy but oily so didn't taste very fresh unfortunately. Pasta was great, it's one of my favorites. Simple but hits the spot. It's very filling so do share. Service was good and tables were roomy and comfortable. I'll be back but maybe have to choose something not deep fried. read more
