    Flat Cut Chicken Kabob Plate
    Ajay G.

My first time here and I had an amazing experience! Alex helped me order and suggested the chicken plate so I went with that. It was phenomenal. Chicken is very tender and sauces are full of flavor! Food came out quick, staff is super helpful, and the menu has a lot of exciting options. Can't wait to come back here and try the other sides.

This restaurant is situated in the Irvine Market Palace. I appreciated how fresh all the ingredients were, and the service was both fast and friendly. While the portions are on the smaller side, and it's perhaps not the most authentic Mediterranean cuisine I've tried, it's still a good option for lunch!

Another delicious catering delivered from Luna grill! Their koobideh kabob is soooo freaking good. It's hard to order from anywhere else when I know how delicious their grass fed koobideh is. Every ingredient is consistently fresh and my coworkers also mentioned the food was exceptional.

For international students in the US, eating is harder than exams. In the difficulty coefficient of survival, the technical skill of ordering takeout far surpasses most open-note multiple-choice exams--especially when you're like me, without a driver's license, confining your radius of activity to a five-scooter battery, while your stomach yearns for the simple pleasures of life. Wandering through UTC, I was drawn to a colorful Greek grill. After a $200 dive into the unknown, I gradually figured out the survival rules of Luna Grill. Their signature chicken breast seems to be a test of willpower, specially designed for fitness enthusiasts. As I stared at this pale, stubborn piece of protein, I suddenly understood why bullfrogs are so fond of sharing inspirational quotes--without a bit of mental fortitude, it's truly hard to reconcile with a texture that's tough yet not tender, and dry yet not fragrant. As a non-fitness person, my first impulse after finishing was to bow in salute to all my friends who lift weights. Their rice, on the other hand, is a modern art form in the world of grains. It's neither as soft and glutinous as Asian rice nor as loose as basmati. Every grain maintains its stubborn independence, as if declaring to you: "We refuse to be defined, and we refuse to be cooked." This semi-raw texture, paired with the equally eccentric chickpea fritters, is like participating in an obstacle course in your mouth. It's hard to swallow, and hard to spit out. But the most exciting part is the sauce blind box. The Harissa sauce is like a watercolor painting where the artist mistakenly used chili powder as paint, and the Garlic Fetta is just pungent. That is, until I met Tzatziki--the yogurt sauce mixed with chopped cucumber, which finally became a sanctuary for my taste buds. Paired with the burrata salad hiding peaches and pecans, it's a perfect balance of sweet and savory, bringing maximum happiness. I finally get it: ordering at Luna Grill is like choosing classes; you can't just rely on the course description, you have to check the reviews. But compared to the perpetually soggy takeout fries (a sincere suggestion: fry lovers, just navigate directly to In-N-Out), at least the shrimp and grilled vegetables here can help me maintain a basic love for life.

I love Mediterranean food so getting their Santorini bowl was a great option! Their pearled couscous was especially delicious. It is, however, a little on the pricier side!

Luna Grill at University Center is a solid spot for Mediterranean food, though the dining space is pretty small and often filled with UCI students studying. There can be a line, but ordering ahead on the app makes things much easier. The portions here are huge, so definitely come hungry or plan to take leftovers. Great option for a quick and filling meal!

Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill. The portions have noticeably gotten smaller, especially considering the $20 price tag. The rice was undercooked and had an unpleasant flavor, which made up most of the dish. The chicken portion was disappointing as well--only three to four small chunks of chicken breast. To make matters worse, the cucumber and tomatoes were old and wilted, clearly past their prime. Overall, the quality does not match the price, and it feels like costs are going up while quality continues to decline.

It's pretty far from home, but I…read morecould easily work it into the flight path so to speak, between the Tustin REI and 17th Street in Costa Mesa. Located in a small but busy plaza, HOK is a small, potentially packed restaurant with a few tables outside. About half full mid afternoon on a Saturday, i got a table and quickly made a decision to try the combination plate with a chicken and kubideh kabob, with rice. Next time I'll branch out, but this first sample provided much pleasure and evidence that they can't do anything wrong (except be closed when I'm craving more ;) A few minutes after placing my order the warm flatbread came out with butter. Comparatively, many other Persian restaurants use Lavash sections, so I enjoyed the contrast. The neighboring table of four received their plates one at a time, so I figured the kitchen and grill were probably also fairly constricted like the lobby. Nonetheless, it didn't take long and the generous, colorful portions were a sight to behold! The first thing I noticed was how moist and tender both kabobs were. Not burnt or dry anywhere on either type. That's attributable to the elevated method of grilling, but here the chef has it down to a science. The second observation came later when I didn't feel excessively thirsty, or bloated, ir dehydrated. Some restaurants really brine the meat while marinating, but here it's another level of perfection. Good service and a reasonable price, although the menu prices might be behind current food costs. Still, it was totally worth it. I didn't have a way to keep leftovers in a safe temperature range, so I ate everything. Full, but not stuffed.

A lot of people I trust have raved about it, and I'm glad I gave it a shot. Our server, Leyla, was great. She took orders for 6 people entirely from memory without a single mistake, all while staying kind, attentive, and composed during a busy service. The food was excellent. The tahdig was crispy, and the stews were rich and homemade, easily some of the best I've had. The koobideh kabob was flavorful and cooked very well, and the chicken barg was equally good. For dessert, the faloodeh had a good balance of rose water, and the Persian ice cream was just as good. I really enjoyed everything about this place and will absolutely be back.

Despite a sign saying 'Wait to be seated,' there was no hostess present. After 5 minutes of waiting, a busboy who didn't speak English attempted to seat us without welcoming us. He barely communicated that no seats were available outside, and when I asked what the wait time was, he could not answer. I found the manager, a Persian lady in her 50s, and asked if she could tell me when an outside table would be available. In a surprisingly snarky tone, she snapped in Farsi, 'You're asking me for the impossible, how do I know how long it's going to take for them to be done? Do *you* know how long it's going to take for them to be done?' I was shocked. Obviously, the answer to a question like this is a standard 15 to 25 minutes of wait time, but unfortunately, she chose a much harder and completely unnecessary response pattern. I told her that this is no way to speak with a customer and started to walk away, choosing to take our business to Caspian Restaurant instead. Unbelievably, she then yelled after me, 'Excuse me, I asked you a question, why are you walking away?' to which, of course, I did not respond. I feel everybody should know about this because a restaurant in such an expensive location needs customer service as its foundation to get repeat clients. It's very unfortunate that this happens to restaurants where the owners are silent and hire the wrong managers--managers who can't handle stress well, or who feel their outdated customer support still holds up in 2026. Unless they change their management style and make a visible change, I would strongly discourage anyone from needing to experience the same.

Before you visit, keep these things in mind: 1. This is a ghost kitchen, not a full-service restaurant. It's best for takeout and delivery. There are only a few chairs outside--just four in total. 2. Ordering is entirely self-service via a digital kiosk, with no staff on hand to assist you. 3. There are no bathrooms available anywhere on-site. Regarding the food, it was just okay-- a bit underwhelming, especially given that Lebanese cuisine is typically so flavorful. The chicken was dry, the hummus lacked depth, and the rice was bland. That said, the fattoush salad, one of my favorites, was very good, with a delicious dressing. Overall, I can't say I'd return. The prices were quite high for the portions, and the quality didn't meet my expectations.
