Came in at 5:54pm to pick up dinner. Ordered a family platter, large wonton soup and a kids meal all to go. They only had 2 other people dinning in. And one person waiting before me. (So not very busy) I drive home, start taking out the food and my daughter's kids mean is not there. So now I have a 3 year old without dinner and have to make something additional since she got something that wasn't in in family platter. When I called to let them know the kids meal wasn't in my bags. I was basically questioned 3 times that the kids meal wasn't there. - more frustration! I was offered ro come back and get it, but after getting home with my 3 year old and 18 month old it would take me even longer and push back dinner even more. If I could give 1 star, I would. I absolutely love Pick Up Stix, especially since in my city there is none, so i never mind the 25 min drive there. I get off from work late and every week at least once I love to get takeout from here. I always place a call over the phone and go pick it up 15 minutes before 8pm. For the past two weeks I have been calling at 7:20-7:30pm to try and place my pick up order like I usually do, and I have been told back to back to back "Sorry we can not take your order, we are over filled with orders". Strange, because every time I go at this time its dead empty. I never took the time to go over and see for myself. So today, I called again @7:40 (even later) and they took my order over the phone. My usual is House chicken with broccoli (no other veggies bc I am allergic) white rice and an order of 3 cream cheese wontons. So at 7:55 I arrived to pick up my order, wow was I happy. When I finally got home, and I am about to eat... guess what? My order was wrong. I am so PISSED. For the drive, and for the time it took to finally have some Pick Up Stix and it had to be wrong. They gave me grilled chicken with ALL veggies. No broccoli at all either. And the best part, it has mushroom which I am allergic to. Whenever I inhale mushrooms it makes my respiratory tract burn so much and it makes my eyes cry terribly. I am so so sad. I'm so glad they opened a new location near me. I would usually go to the Lakewood or Alhambra location. This location is very nice, clean, and the staff is very friendly. They have outdoor seating. Restrooms were clean. I went on a Monday around lunch time and surprisingly, It wasn't busy. I ordered the Chinese salad, which was filling and delicious. Parking is not hard to find in this large shopping center. I recommend trying their cream cheese wonton, along with whatever you order. read more

The food is good but don't expect any service from the cashiers, specifically Destiny (I made sure to look at my receipt for her name since they don't wear name badges). I come here often being that it's near me and every time she is there I know to not expect a hello, a welcome, or a thank you. She always looks upset, like she doesn't want to be there or like she doesn't to take an order. She will see people walk in and go up to order and she keeps doing what she was doing instead of acknowledging her customers. We get Pick Up Stix through our school food program but it's always served w brown rice and I think it's gross. So I finally decided to go in and see what choices they actually have, because honestly I thought it was the same as Panda and I'm just not a big fan of Chinese food. I have to say, it was DELICIOUS!!! I tried the Thai Chili chicken, the house chicken and the honey chicken with white rice and fried rice. They were all amazing!! Great food, good service! This is becoming a regular lunch spot for me and the funny thing is, I'm not too big on Asian food but I love this joint. So far, everything I've tried here is delicious. I've been coming to pick up stix for about 8 years now, from long Beach to Alhambra to lakewood to downey. I have to say that the Downey location by far is the best location under this corporation. In particular it is clean, clean, clean. You can eat off the floor here. It's that clean. Part of that has to do with the amazing staff! In particular one person who is always there to help and always with a smile, her name is Alicia! She's is amazing and is consistent with her service everytime I come in. Keep it up Alicia! The food is always cooked so fresh and I really love the ambiance. The only downside is that cellular LTE Service is not the best here, but that has nothing to do with pick up stix. All in all, if you are looking for fresh Asian cuisine with the best service and cleanest fast casual experience. You can't go wrong with pick up stix and this location. read more

My experience here was great from start to finish. My ordering experience was very good since the staff was very friendly and patient explaining the menu. I ordered the house special and kung pao. Workers are not friendly. Treat u like a number. Cashier is so rude and stares at u with a blank stare, no expression at all. I really liked this place. Clean and friendly staff, and the food seemed fresh. The chow mein was not greasy but very flavorful. Kung pao was great also. Oh and they also serve beer and wine which is a plus. Overall it's a good spot for quick Chinese with a beer. read more

Walked in employees where sitting at the bench eating ran around the counter to the cash register when they saw us took our order went back to continue eating went to try to find a table the majority where dirty, food, stains, etc.... not cleaned, the floors where dirty, took forever for our food. While waiting for our food I observe customers leaving 20 min past and no one cleaned there tables. I sat in the back tables and I can here there personal conversations and they were by the cash register. The same tables that were dirty when I walked in were still dirty when I left after I dined (45min) later, the manger was there and did nothing. So sad I like Pick Up Stix but will not be back to this one, loud conversations, not clean employees on there phones. Business owners check your business cameras you should hire people that actually want to work with worth ethics. read more

This review is for service only. I came in and placed a to go order. The waiting area (one bench) by the register was full so I decided to wait at a table in the dinning area. Over 15 minutes later and I'm still waiting. The girl who delivers food to the tables sees me sitting there and doesn't even bother to ask me if I'm waiting for my food. I'm about to get up and check on my order when the other girl comes over and says "oh, I called your name a while ago but I didn't see you." Omg! You don't think to look in the dinning area?! Common sense would be to check because the waiting portion is crowded so maybe the person got out of the way and moved to the dinning portion? Now I get my COLD food and have to go back to work and reheat it. No apologies either. Never coming here again. read more

I was extremely disappointed in my last visit to the Downey location. I came with my family around 1pm on October 26 of this year. I ordered the Thai Basil Chicken combo meal. The cashier presumably took down my order. However, when my food came (20 minutes later), I received the wrong item (the Thai noodles). When I pointed this out to the manager, he actually wanted me to pay the difference in price between the two items, although I had already paid for the correct item. He decided not to charge me after all, however. In addition, I never received the cream cheese wontons that were supposed to come with the meal. The person who delivered the food insisted that my meal did not actually include the wontons, even though it was clearly stated on the menu that they WERE included. Later, upon talking to the manager, the story somehow changed: he claimed the the cooks were new and made a mistake. The strangest part, however, was that when confronted about the fact that the manager had initially wanted me to pay for their mistake, he denied responsibility for the mistake. He claimed that the Thai Basil Chicken, and Thai Noodles had the same code for putting down on the cash register. That it was incumbent on me, the customer, to refer to the dish as "Basil" next time when ordering. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. A simple apology would have sufficed, but the manager kept hemming and hawing, and making excuses for the mistake. This is unprofessional and quite frankly unacceptable. In the end, he offered a coupon for two free cream cheese wontons - what I was supposed to get in the first place. Management, I would appreciate your reply to this message, as I am sorely tempted to take my business elsewhere, if this is the way I'm going to be treated. Thank you. read more
