Finally had the chance to try this restaurant! It's so cute, small & very modern inside. We stopped by on a Friday evening around 6:30 & were seated right away! Our food came out fast. All the employees are so friendly. We tried the Pad Thai combination which was absolutely delicious & flavorful. Egg rolls were nice and crispy. Pho brisket was so good and it was a big portion! To drink I got Thai tea which was good, nothing crazy but would get again. It is kind of hidden unless you know the area! We will definitely will be returning & if you're planning on going, go! You won't be disappointed.

This place was incredible really worth the stop and everything from what I was seeing come out the kitchen while I was waiting looked fire. I seriously never give a perfect score but this was worth the hype and shout out. My take out met every expectation and more

Wow they just opened 10 days ago and that's the first word that came to my mind when I tasted their food. This is clearly the definition of a hidden gem! Ambiance - it's a cool dive vibe and the decor is modern and chic . Service - extremely attentive courteous and friendly. They knew what to suggest and also they were on top of all our needs Food- this is where it gets good . The food was amazing I will say that you must come with a healthy appetite and try everything yourself . Please try the crispy crab fried eggroll to start and also the amazing coconut shrimp . Just come in and eat. Welcome to paramount and Downey area . A great addition to the community !

We loved the spring rolls. Would come back even if that's all they made here! So so good! The pork Pad Kra Pao was also really good! The Rare Beef Pho was not good tho, as much as I wanted to love it - it was lacking pho flavor and the steak pieces were tough and dry. Next time I'll try another dish instead because they all looked really good on the tables around us. The place is cute and the service was great. Super friendly welcome and frequent checks to out table. Looking forward to visiting again.

We were craving tom yum soup and decided to try a new spot that had great reviews. From the outside it looks small, but once you're inside it's actually pretty nice and comfortable. We went on a Sunday night around 8 pm, and at first the place was completely empty, which kinda scared us because what if food wasn't good. But we knew it close at 9:30, so we assumed maybe that's why it was empty. As we started eating, the place quickly filled up, and after trying the food, it made total sense why. The tom yum soup was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and just what we were craving. The chow mein portion was HUGE and super satisfying. Prices were very reasonable too, about $50 for both plates. And the service was great, everyone was super attentive. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

Came to have lunch/dinner with my mom that was local. The food is very delicious and large portioned for 2. The ambience is very cute and chill. Music is not too loud and can have normal conversations. The service was excellent, kind customer service and attentive. I definitely recommend and will go back

Service was friendly and fast. We went to this restaurant when it was Velma's and it looks completely different. It's clean and bright with pretty light fixtures. The food was excellent. Everything was fresh, hot, and flavorful. The prices are on the high competitive side BUT the portions are huge. We can eat a lot and we had almost full containers to take home. We can do 3 full meals tomorrow and that's a fantastic deal! We will definitely be back soon.

Pho combination is fireee! Would recommend coming here. I love th deep dish bowl they serve the noodles with. Light and fresh broth. Bean sprouts, lime and basil and jalapeños come with your order

If you're thinking about trying Viet Thai Cafe, don't think twice. Just Go! Their food is fresh, flavorful and serving sizes are great! This is one of those while in the wall places you always hear about from your friends or family. My wife and I ordered out and they had our food ready all within 20 minutes. Great Service. We'll definitely be going back soon!

Wow, where do I even start? This was the best fall I've ever had in my life. If you haven't came here you better come the best employees super nice. The wings were crazy. Good and they gave me some fire spicy mayo my goodness it was so good definitely coming back maybe every week who knows. The inside is so clean they have a good YouTube playing.

The bowl was full and still leftovers in the containers.

This place recently opened up around the corner from me. It's clean and decorated cute. Super nice staff. The food tasted great, big portions and great price. Lots of options to pick from. Had several things and everything was delicious. Lots of parking in front of the restaurant.

Amazing Viet and thai food place! I got a beef pad thai plate and the portion was GENEROUSSS! Their food is fresh and so flavorful! I've also ordered take out and their food quality and portions don't drop! The owners put a lot of love in this restaurant and you can taste it in their food. I love the vlog YouTube videos they play in the restaurants where the people are in southeastern Asia, making the place so cozy as you eat the asian cuisine. Definitely will be a new to go place on my list!!

Once you walk in, just go straight to the back to order. A young nice lady greeted me immediately. Thank you Miss! Menu has a mix of Vietnamese and Asian Fusion dishes. Since this was my first time here, I asked the young lady for her recommendation. She said her favorite is the Crawfish Pasta. I love seafood so that's what I got. It didn't take too long for my order to be ready. Pasta had plenty of noodles and sausages. Crawfish was tiny, but this wasn't news... just wished it had a lot more amount of crawfish to compensate for its size. Overall flavor was good, but I found it a tad salty for my taste. Love the spicy kick. Price was a bit pricey for the portion size though. I don't live in the LB area so this may not be a place for my frequent returns. I'll sure to drop by next time should I be in the area to try their other unique dishes. Thank you NK! Btw, this location opens until 1 AM every day for the night owls.

To be frank, I'm not the type of person who normally comes to a place like this, so my expectations for the food itself weren't very high, but I was decently surprised. Brunch consisted of a carving station, sushi, ramen, and desserts. Much of the food is ordered off the menu and they have a very large offering. Standout items were the teriyaki glazed salmon, branzino, Shanghai fried rice, spicy tuna tartare, and HK fried noodle. To my surprise, the ramen was also very decent. I actually went back and got more o the broth. Sushi was alright - the rice was good, at least. I did like the fact that the brunch offered so many different items. I'd come here with a large group so you can try a bit of everything. Personally I'd skip the breakfast bao buns and eggrolls - really trying to shoehorn the whole Asian/Western fusion a little too much with these. Would I come again? If somebody asked, sure. I don't think I'm the demographic for this spot, but if you're into this type of night club meets restaurant vibe, TAO is absolutely the best place to flood your social feed.

Everything was creatively planned and decorated. It was also very clean and spacious inside and out. When you go in, there's a tea sampling station with the menus so you can see which tea you would like to order. Our server was really sweet, but she was the only one serving all of the tables, so she would come by every 10-20 minutes to check on us and some things we asked for didn't make it to the table. If they had more servers, customers would be happy with quicker service. The food and tea were delish! There were 6 of us so we shared a bunch of different teas. I really enjoyed the teas they had. The sweet and savory treats were really yummy! I really enjoyed them. Each person got 5 little savory treats and 4 sweet treats. I kind of wish we got one or two more for $45, but either way they were delicious! It is my first time here but saw yelp n just ordered what looked appetizing--Garlic Shrimp Egg Noodle (fried not noodle soup) The dish came with a soup on the side and the entree, which included 3 slices of pineapple probably to wash away the garlic after eating. The noodles were clumps together and tasted a bit raw/flour-y. That wasn't too bad, but would've liked it without that taste. The shrimp tasted ok...there were a good portion. The garlic...honestly this was something I didnt like as i knew this flavor...its either raw garlic that is passed due and has those clear parts and a bit sour or those preserved garlic in citeic acid, but tasted as if it were left out. Like a wet dish rag smell. I know this as i've used large bag of garlic from Costco that became this as I didnt use by the best buy or that it had fridge burns that cause the bruising and when I used it my dishes, it tasted lik this. This flavor ruined the dish and I didnt eat it all and took home thinking I can pick out the garlic pieces and just eat the rest. This took off 2 stars. Service was ok, altho I only ordered, food came, and asked for check, so didnt need much service. I added a Khrak Cambodian iced coffee at the end to take home... this was ok too. Just Cambo version of a Vietnamese Coffee. This here was a little darker coffee flavor I felt and less sugar (which is good for me). Im not sure I'll come back, not because of the food or rating, but because there are plenty of places to go for lunch and chose this place for today. Thank you.

Our waters were kept full, and waiters were swift to clear empty plates or wipe the table before placing the next courses down! To begin I had the malaria corn riblets and silly me I tried to eat it with a chopsticks and biting right through it. LOL. When I realized the cob is there I ended up using my hands to eat it and I did feel like I'm in a nice restaurant but using my hands felt a bit weird but that's OK, it was absolutely delicious, the corn was easily pulled off the cob and the aoli had a very rich flavor. To drink we were offered the $25 surprise option which was between white or red wine and we chose the red. Our surprise wine was the Abondanza red and paired absolutely perfectly with the meal. For the second course my friend and I both chose the Nasi Udok and boy were we happily smelling the scent of the food and digging right in. Those braised eggs had an amazing taste accented by whatever the sauce was on top I've never had an egg like this. The Cornish hen was lightly crunchy on the outside and nice and hot and juicy on the inside. Absolutely delicious paired with the rice which had this aromatic ginger smell and taste too me that just complemented everything so well. For the last course was dessert and we got the Panna cotta. This is not your average Panna Cotta, no it's amazing. The cheesy base sits in a pool of sauce and little green tid bits that my friend and I can't guess what they are. Instead of being a sweet sweet dessert, the Panna Cotta was a sweet savory dish. I loved the variation and I savored every bite.
