The total was matching ahaha anyways they have an awesome staff very kind even tho I was 50 cents short they def had our back so yummy will come back because the meat was sooooo tender and vivaaaaa Cambodia !

My family and I have been coming to China Wok Express for years, and it has truly never failed us. It's one of those places that just feels like home. The food is always great. Their hot and sour soup is my absolute favorite. I crave it all the time. What really makes this place special, though, is the owner. She is so incredibly kind and welcoming. She honestly feels like family at this point. You can tell she cares about her customers and takes pride in what she does. If you're looking for comforting, reliable Chinese food with heart behind it, this is the spot. We'll definitely keep coming back for many more years

Honestly my family and I were craving Chinese food. When we walked in it was boiling hot inside. I really wanted to get some rotisserie chicken next door at Los pollos, but decided to get something fast. I first saw the orange chicken and I told her it looks too wet and slimy but all she exclaimed was "it's good it's really good" so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and just had them serve us 2 to go plates. When we got home , noodles was just wet and slimy and the rice was over cooked, and as expected the orange chicken was not of good taste along with the other type of chicken we chose. I did not finish my food at all left like 90% of it along with my other family members plate. This was a waste of $30. I'll next time go with my first instinct and get something from next door fresh rotisserie chicken!!! read more

I live nearby and for the FIRST TIME, I tried this restaurant! I've been searching for a good Chinese food place with decent prices. And this, is for sure!!! the spot. It's a shop that's not busy and bustling, my friend and I walked it and had the restaurant to ourselves. However every little table is set ready to accommodate. The woman there was so nice, I think she's the owner as she mentioned having bbq pork every morning! She was incredibly kind, willing to let you try and taste a dish before choosing it, and is so excited to serve you. For myself: fried rice/chowmein, teriyaki chicken, kungpao chicken For my dishes, I felt the meats were very fresh. Incredibly juicy and flavor full (and with flavors of their own it's not the same sauces just used on different things. they actually carry a flavor of their own, a delicious one too!) I really enjoyed the kungpao chicken, I like it spicy so some siracha on top hit the spot. I didnt love the fried rice too much, next time I'd just get steamed rice! the chow mein is good and flavor full - its less like the skinny stirfry version like at chain restaurants and more like big thick noodles. I really like the stirfry version but these are yummy as well. my friend had: white rice, orange chicken, sweet bbq wings. he ate everything possible on the plate. I tried a bit, i found myself to not like these chicken choices as much. I like my chicken wings crispy - these were soft saucey wings the flavor was nice though! I just personally like hard fried wings. The orange chicken has some spice! While it isn't "spicy" for my liking nor too spicy for a child, it was good! I again wish it was crispy chicken but that's why I chose more stewed/grilled meats for my plate. I hope more folks can eat in with their families, this is a good affordable spot needing more attention! Very happy with yesterdays lunch (and left overs as dinner!). I will be seeing this restaurant again soon for my chinese food fix. read more

This Chinese food is absolutely amazing!!! The atmosphere is extremely clean. The food is fresh. Not to mention, their orange chicken is absolutely DELICIOUS!!! It's so fresh and amazing. I like the shrimp fried rice. They make it fresh, the shrimp are a decent size. The freshness of the ready made food is hit or miss imo. The service is excellent! She's so nice and talkative. Parking can get a little crazy during peak times but totally doable. read more

Heard such great things about this place from locals, and when I was craving something cheap and delicious I decided to come here. Exceeded my expectations on the pricing, portions and customer service. Purchased 3 plates for my family. The chow mein was mushy like it's been sitting there for hours. Beef and broccoli was nothing but oil. Quality of the food it's horrible! Called to notify them that I will be disputing the charges and employee or owner yelled on the phone do what ever you want instead of making it right. read more

Let me be very honest I really enjoyed the chow mein and the orange chicken was also delicious but the teriyaki chicken was a bit dry but still very delicious I really liked the beef and broccoli the owner recommended the bbq pork so I'll try that next! Hello I'm Justin I have been to this place many times. Probably around 3-4 times and Everytime they do not disappoint. I have tried there Teriyaki Chicken which was super tender and soft , their spicy orange chicken is so good and I really love their ribs and lo mein. Everything is seasoned well and has a great taste Everytime I go in. I try to get new items Everytime I go in and they never disappoint here. Food is cooked freshly every morning and you can really taste the freshness. I have eaten a lot of crappy food in my life and I have tasted a lot of unseasoned food in my life and this place DOES NOT have any of this. I wish I had pictures to show how amazing their portion sizes are for the prices they have. Way bigger portions then panda express and less expensive but this place some how has way more fresher food then panda. Makes no sense how they do it. Honestly deserve a 5/5 stars because of how tasty the food is and how nice they are. 100% planning on going back again!! read more

My son and I absolutely love this place! We were heartbroken when we went one time and found it closed down. After being closed for months, I was so happy to find them open again today! I cannot express how excited I was to see them back in business. Apparently, they've been struggling due to rising insurance costs, and it's such a relief to see them powering through. This place has been a staple in the community for so long, and I truly hope it stays around for years to come. The food is consistently delicious and authentic, and the staff is always so friendly and sweet. If you're looking for a great Chinese spot in Downey, I highly recommend them! I've been coming here since I was a kid with my mom and grandparents. It warms my heart knowing that after a long time, the interior is still the same. The atmosphere and the classic taste of the food gives such nostalgia. I know this place has been in business for at least 20 years or more and the same great hospitality of the owners reflects that. The wonderful woman there always makes me feel welcome and she makes sure I leave feeling full and happy. The food plates are always packed to the brim. She makes a great egg drop soup. I encourage people to not pass up this place the next time they're looking to eat classic Chinese American food. read more

I recently had the pleasure to visit this place again after its grand reopening, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience, just as I remember! I got the Combo B plate with their signature chow mein/fried rice, orange chicken, and mushroom/zucchini/chicken. The orange chicken really stood out to me, especially as it was crispy and coated in a deliciously rich sauce. The Thai Tea is also a must-try as it pairs refreshingly well with the food. The inside is very clean and looks wonderful for dining in. Service was excellent as they gave us some extras and are very very kind. The orange chicken was crispy and not overly sweet, the fried rice had great texture and seasoning, and the portions were generous for the price. I have no regrets because I got to witness the great customer service they provide, despite the challenge of understanding a different language other than english or mandarin the young man politely assist to help the hispanic clientele regardless of the times they kept ordering the wrong food plate. She always hooks jt up with some free egg rolls or some cookies. She will have a customer from me for as long as they are open.
