Disappointing Customer Service My husband and I visited…read moreGolden Palace Chinese Restaurant on September 2, 2026, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing--not because of the food, but because of the way we were treated. The demeanor of both our server and the owner was noticeably cold and unwelcoming throughout our visit. We were simply there to order food to go and expected the same basic courtesy and respect that any paying customer should receive. What really stood out to me was what happened when I was paying. As I was handing over my credit card, the owner snatched the card out of my hand, and then also snatched the charge slip from my hand. I found the manner in which this was done extremely rude, unnecessary, and disrespectful. As a Black customer, I have unfortunately experienced situations where I have questioned whether the treatment I received was influenced by my race. I cannot say for certain what motivated the behavior we experienced at Golden Palace, but I can say that the way we were treated left us feeling uncomfortable, unwelcome, and disrespected. We don't expect special treatment. We expect basic courtesy, professionalism, and respect when we spend our hard-earned money at a business. I am sharing this review because customer service matters. No customer should leave a restaurant feeling like their presence was an inconvenience. Based on this experience, we will not be returning. .

Is that why you use those black plate containers now instead of the bigger styrofoam plates? Do better! Just because your customers are not watching you serve them in person doesn't give you the right to compromise the quality and integrity of their food and portion sizes. I have gone many times in person and my food was fresh and I was given a fair amount but this crap they pulled online more than once now is deterring me from going back anytime soon!
