Very little food it seemed for two people two seniors. We ordered two grilled salmon I ordered two side dishes . One was cauliflower- rice . Not enough rice was there , as it was hidden under the grilled salmon . The other side dish I wanted was coleslaw .. however , I mis read the item and ordered a kale , the green purple leafy vegetable mixed with cabbage . I didn't like it . Anyway , it was not enough food for a stocky man, who was a fairly hungry . My friend , who also ordered grilled Salmon, had a side order of cauliflower-rice and side order sweet potato fries which were seriously over cooked , and borderline burnt . I took them back to ready station person and told the young lady that the sweet potato fries were burnt, and could I have another order of the fries ( obviously not overcooked) . She was surprised. But agreed to tell the cook , to make another order of them . After 9 minutes No one said anything to me , so the new perfectly cooked fries would have sat there if I didn't get up and locate them . Also the drink I originally ordered could not be found on the drink machine which I mixed a tea with a little soda . Nevertheless , the grill salmon was nicely prepared , but the skimpy portion of rice and the kale-slaw were not enough for two us. I was feeling like I could have ordered a second dinner , as was my friend, as we drove 35 minutes to meet there from different locations. We came in to get dinner but it was hard what to order but my wife tells me let's get the fish n chips her favorite meal. Yes we did we ordered the fish n chips and a side of coconut shrimp,we waiting for they call my name. Everything is made to order and everything is made fresh daily that's why the California Fish Grill is very popular who loves seafood. They call my name I pick up our meal it looks so good. The fish was cook nicely tender and crispy and so good adding tartar sauce makes so good but adding malt vinegar make the fish more flavor and layers amazing flavor like the fries taste good but adding malt vinegar add explosive flavors in the fries more exciting. I can always find friendly faces with grrat customer service and clean tables to wait. The food never disappoints. The Atlantic Salmon is always fresh and the sides are filled with flavor. I asked for a substitution request upon ordering. It was for protein substitute on a sustainable bowl. The protein substitute could've been the choice of the manager, I wanted the swai omitted, the texture doesn't agree with me. The cashier said he said no substitutions. My total tab at that time was 38.00 plus and I was planning on ordering more. I cancelled everything. I took my over 50.00 order and spent some place else. I had a very disappointing experience at this location. I placed a to-go order and requested white rice and salmon, but I was given brown rice instead. When I approached Keena to let her know, she dismissed my request and handed me another side of brown rice. I went back a second time to clarify, and again she dismissed me. Only then did she tell me they were "out of white rice," so I chose a different side. My order sat on the counter for about five minutes, and suddenly when George came out, white rice appeared. By that point I was frustrated, and I do acknowledge that I shouldn't have used profanity, but the situation escalated because of how dismissive the interaction felt. Before all of this, I had also asked for ketchup and was ignored until she finally handed it to me. This is not the level of customer service anyone should receive. Owner: I encourage you to check your cameras; everything is clearly documented. Also, if white rice isn't available, the staff should ask before substituting items. And please have employees wear name badges, customers should know who they're interacting with. I also dined in, and unfortunately the dinner wasn't enjoyable either.
