Words to describe the cuisine would be sophisticated and elevated BBQ with Romanian fusion. Very flavorful and filling! LOCATION: It is located in the food court at Stonewood Mall. HOURS: They serve lunch and dinner. 10:00am-8pm SERVICE: We were greeted with a warm smile by Lori. I have never tasted Romanian food before, so I was excited to learn about their menu. She recommended several items for us to choose from. MENU We ordered the 3 MEAT COMBO PLATTER: You can select different meats. We chose: pork belly, sausage, and ribs, with corn and french fries. Wow! Every bite was delicious! I loved the seasonings! Salty goodness from the pork belly, the Romanian sleeveless sausage, "Mici" made from beef and pork was perfectly seasoned and paired well with mustard, and the ribs were tender and fell right off the bones. None of the meats were tough and were very scrumptious! :) ------ BRISKET SANDWICH -Delicious! The brisket was very tasty and was definitely the star of the sandwich! The bread, cheese, and the veggies that accompanied the brisket was the perfect ratio. I could taste each element in every bite! Other dishes we ate: PASTRAMI SANDWICH: Fun fact, Pastrami originated from Romania! Pastrami comes from the word pastramă which means to preserve. So of course their pastrami was top notch! BURNT ENDS TRITIP SIDES: For the sides they were all yummy. Sides they serve include frenchfries, vegetables, macaroni, mashed potatoes, and corn. My personal favorite was the mashed potatoes! They were whipped to perfection and creamy. I enjoyed the meal with my friends! I liked the presentations of each dish. The generous portions, fresh ingredients, and the garnishes on top of the foods made it look very special. We had to give accolades to the cook, Manny who made each dish. ***All in all I had a great experience dining at Pitmasters' Society BBQ Grill! If you are a meat and potatoes person, THIS IS THE PLACE! Their specialty is their grilled and smoked meats. It is great bbq packed with unique flavors inspired by Romania. Have been eyeing to try this place for a while - I finally ordered via uber eats. First the price and value is really great for bbq. I wanted to try a little of everything so I ordered the 3 meat combo (chose ribs, chicken & brisket) & a burnt end pork belly / sausage mix. I really enjoyed the baked beans, burnt bit pork belly, & brisket - they all had good flavor. The chicken was good and not dry. The bbq ribs was decent but not super juicy / tender. The sides were a miss for me (besides the baked beans), the fries were a bit soggy (I mean could be because I got takeout), and the flavor of the slaw and the potato salad (?) could be better imo. But overall the bbq was tasty and is a fantastic value & i would order again to try more of their selections! read more

Food was excellent. I had the combo plate, bbq brisket, burnt ends and apple wood smoked sausages. Side of corn, Mac salad and fries. Everything was very tasty and grilled to perfection. Great price point on all items on the menu. I highly recommend you check this place out and I will definitely be coming back to taste the other items on the menu read more

Hands down the best food you could have while shopping at the mall. Everything about the place and atmosphere was wonderful! Very clean. Staff was very attentive, informative and friendly! Food was fresh, hot and flavorful. I was definitely recommended their breakfast sandwich and their bean soup for sure!! Every time I'm in Stonewood I try something new! Absolutely blown away by the quality of the food at Pitmaster Society Barbecue inside the Downey mall. I ordered the brisket sandwich with mashed potatoes, and it was hands-down restaurant-quality--far beyond what you'd ever expect from a mall food spot. The brisket was incredibly flavorful and tender, easily the highlight of the meal. I also loved the mushrooms and the mix of flavors in the sandwich--it all came together perfectly. The mashed potatoes were creamy and rich, and the corn was just as impressive. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care. I later found out they have a full restaurant in Orange County, which made total sense--this is not fast food. Honestly, I was shocked at how good the food was. I'd come back to the mall just to eat here again, and it might even be worth going out of my way for. Highly recommend stopping by if you're anywhere nearby. This place is a hidden gem! read more

This exists at a mall food court? At the Stonewood Mall even. While the mall has the usual Sbarros, mongolian, tacos, and greek fast food, this mall had a legit BBQ spot with some Romanian flair. They have brisket,tri tip, pork belly, sausages burgers and hot dogs etc. but they also have mica a Romanian kebab. They even have soups. The stuff we've tasted so far are the brisket, mica, and fries. We got the meats and sides of mashed potatoes by themselves but they also have sandwiches and paninis. Cant wait to go back. Everyone is friendly and the service is great. Food is made to order so expect some time to prepare your food, its worth it. read more

The food was not good, especially for the price. - chicken entree w/fries ($14) Chicken looked unappetizing, it had a grayish hue to it. The seasoning was not good, it was overly salted. Fries were stale and tasted old. Definitely tasted like frozen fries. Had only a couple of bites before throwing the rest of it away. - 3 piece meat (sausage, brisket and ribs) combo w/corn and mashed potatoes ($18) Sausage was basic, tasted like precooked on you get from the grocery store for a home bbq event. Brisket was decent, could use a little extra flavoring. Ribs were dry. Sorry but in my opinion this place is not good and I would not recommend it. Total waste of money. Again we didn't even finish either plate of food, after a few bites we threw both plates away. read more

Never tried this new spot in the mall and I'm glad I did! Got the pit-master burger, AMAZING flavors and perfect side of fries! Second time going, got the Brisket sandwich and MORE amazing flavors with every bite! Service was awesome, the cook took his time with me going over the menu and made sure he knew exactly what I wanted! Highly recommend trying if you haven't yet! read more

The food was what you'd expect from a five star barbecue spot, with my selection being the pastrami sandwich along with a side of fries, the sandwich bread was soft and perfectly served, along with the pickles and pastrami playing off one another well. The fries were a perfect crisp along with amazing sauces. To top it off, the owner was a kind man who offered to make a new batch especially for us, along with accompanying every need we had. All in all, ten out of ten place I recommend to everyone looking for a barbecue place! read more
