This was my first visit to any Pollo Campero location. The employee at the front counter was very patient with me as I looked over the menu. I was so excited to see a fast food location that offer plantain. I purchased the four piece half baked/half fried. Plantain, coleslaw, and I had the option of getting tortillas or dinner roll with my meal. I was so excited to see they had Jamaica and tamarindo drinks at the drink fountain area. The restaurant was clean, with plenty of seating for those who would like to dine in. I plan to go back to try out more of the sides. read more

Me and my dad were coming back from dog-sitting. We decided to head here since it is fairly new and seemed interesting. We went inside and ordered, (the worker was very kind and helpful) got our cups and served ourself our fountain drinks and sat down. Right as we sat down, they came with our food. It was very fast service, only took about maybe five minutes. The chicken was extremely crunchy and good, the beans were savory, and the coleslaw was yummy. I am thrilled to see that there's now a Pollo Campero near my house! Being from Guatemala, I find this place to be almost like a McDonald's in the Guatemalan community. In the past, they only served fried chicken, but now they also serve grilled chicken, which shows that companies need to evolve. Today, I visited the new Pollo Campero in Bellflower, which opened on September 25th. This place has a drive-thru and plenty of parking. Once inside the restaurant, it was a little busy, but the ambiance was great. I ordered their four-piece chicken with rice and beans, asking to have half fried and the other half grilled. The total amount for this meal should have been close to $18, but since I am part of their rewards program, I used $4 from their Pollo Campero app, so it cost me $13. My order took about 10 minutes to make, and I noticed they gave me fries instead of rice with my meal. I notified one of the employees of the problem, and we both laughed because we knew it was a misunderstanding since rice and fries sound alike. They gave me my rice and let me have the fries for free, which I thought was nice of them. As for the chicken, it was delicious. The batter they use is the same as the one I remember from when I used to eat Pollo Campero in Guatemala. The grilled chicken is something new, but it was also delicious because it had a hint of lime flavor. Customer service is HUGE to me. The few times I've bought from this location, their customer service is TRASH. That's honestly that only reason I haven't came back to this location. The chicken is good which is my reason for the 3 stars, I'll give them that. The sides are okay, but overall the meals are a little on the pricey side. I ordered an eight piece meal online, and when my husband picked it up, they gave him fried chicken instead of grilled, I called and they told me to come in, and they would give us the grilled chicken Of course by the time we got the fresh chicken all of our sides at home we're cold which was pretty disappointing for our first experience here I found the food to be flavorful, the chicken was juicy and not dried out like another place I know. The plantain were sweet and tender I would try this place again and hope they would get my order right next time , they let us keep the fried chicken because what were they going to do with it anyway? After reading two 1 star reviews claiming there was hair embedded in the chicken and that the chicken caused them to get really sick, I was nervous to try this restaurant, but fortunately it didn't cause me to get sick or have a mouth full of hair. Ordered via DoorDash, a three piece dark meal and received two pieces, plus two piece white meal and received one piece of chicken...paid $36 .35, for an incomplete order. I would have appreciated if the location declined my order rather than send me less than what I ordered and leave it up to DoorDash to determine my refund. Which had to be further secured because they weren't able to immediately offer a refund or the difference. UPDATE: DoorDash declined my request for an adjustment- so I paid for five pieces of chicken and it was totally okay that I only received three pieces! FTC and the BBB will be contacted!!
