Solid spot to get some BBQ! My girl and I went here for lunch on a random Tuesday. The ambiance looks like typical BBQ pit stop with decoration of meat and cuts. The service is awesome; Our server always checked us consistently.. granted we're the only customers during that time, but we appreciate that gesture. My girl and I shared to one of their combo meals of 3 meats and 2 sides. We chose baby back ribs, tri-tip and pulled pork. Every meats are delicious especially their pulled pork. The sauce what makes it superb and flavorful. The tri-tip is a little rubbery, but still tasty nonetheless. Their machcheese is the bomb and their beans combines with it have its kick. SOLID BBQ restaurant in downtown Bellflower. This is my second day in a row, so.... yeah! I had the pulled pork and a side of garlic mashed potatoes day 1, and mac & cheese day 2. On top of that it was such a small amount of food for the price. After calling the order in it still took an additional 20 minutes. Today was my first time trying Ham Bones barbecue in Bellflower, and I honestly expected it to taste like every other barbecue spot I've been to before. I walked in thinking it would be familiar, maybe even predictable, but it turned out to be nothing like that at all. This establishment completely exceeded my expectations from the very first bite. The baby back ribs were incredibly tender, practically falling off the bone with rich, savory flavor, and the tri-tip beef rib was just as impressive--juicy and cooked to perfection. The macaroni and cheese was moist and creamy throughout, and the garlic mashed potatoes were super garlicky but absolutely delicious with great flavor, and on top of that the dragon fruit lemonade is fire!!!! On top of that, I came to find out the establishment is Black-owned, which is rare to see when it comes to barbecue spots in the city of Bellflower. That history makes this experience especially disappointing. On my recent visit, I picked up two Soul Bowls and drove back to Gardena. Upon opening the containers, I was shocked and frustrated to find a shockingly small portion of Tri-Tip. It was so minimal I couldn't even taste it. For nearly $20 per bowl, what I received was essentially baked beans, mac and cheese, and what felt like a trace of meat. The portion size was not only underwhelming--it was disheartening. I can't believe I haven't written a review for my favorite BBQ spot yet! Hambones never disappoints. I order a platter 100% of the time because I know I can trust the food to be amazing and enough to feed my whole family. My go-to is the three or four meat platter--baby back ribs, chicken, and brisket. The meat is always tender, flavorful, and perfect with their mild sauce (plus I always ask for extra sauce because it's just that good). The sides are absolutely bomb. My personal lineup is mac & cheese, yams, greens, and an extra large order of barbecue beans. Every bite is seasoned just right and feels like true comfort food. First time here! I ordered 2 brisket and 1 chicken taco on a tuesday and the price of each was $2 so it was a great deal!! I gotta say their mild and tangy BBQ sauce was one of the best i've had personally. Would definitely be back here! I gotta be honest tho service was not the best in regards to the super long wait, not answering the phone to allow ordering ahead, i'm pretty patient when it comes to waiting but our wait was a bit overboard! But I gotta give some grace because there was only one cashier up in the front doing it all! My first time, referred by a friend and my sister. I ordered the Rib Tips Dinner (Tangy Sauce) that was good. The meat was tender and good. The sides baked beans were good and very tasty. The collard greens were horrible - no flavor, no seasoning and tough texture. The greens appeared to have a peppery taste and as if it was soaked in water only. For this to be a Black-Owned restaurant, the sides especially the collard greens should be top-notched. I'm sorry but the greens were poorly cooked. I ordered a 3 meat plate with 2 sides, I selected a leg quarter (cornish hen size ) with a touch of bird flu (anorexic), sliced brisket (where's the beef?) and tri tip and again ( where's the beef?) The malnourished chicken did fall off of the bone, the thought of sliced brisket was tender as well as the tri-tip, my meal that I ordered via delivery at 12:30pm they were already scrapping to fulfill my order or they are naturally "reserved" with their portions. I can say that I am not happy with the customer service, I drove in the rain for an hour to get there calling all way. When I got there I watched the young lady ignore the phone when not picking it up then hang it up multiple times during the 30 minutes I stood there. They kept coming out of the kitchen saying we'll be with you in a minute. The young lady finally came out and asked if she could help me; when I to told her what I wanted to order, she told me that they were closed; I asked why would they let me stand there ALL THAT TIME and if I could place one item. It took me WAAAAY too long to finally try Hambones. What have I been sleepin on?! Put some signs on the doors that aren't active maybe with some arrows or something. I was lost! But when I called the girl who answered was super friendly and offered to come out & get me. She never once seemed annoyed bout it. Appreciate that! As you can see, I got it all. Lol. Everything was superb. BBQ sauce was super flavorful. The peach cobbler was oooweee good. That cinnamon flavor was chefs kiss. The banana pudding? Best I've ever had fr fr. This is hands down one of the best barbecue spots (sauce) I've ever had and I enjoy, me some que! I've known about this place for a few years, my sister's and my brother seem to go into a trance whenever they talk about this place; they live near by, whereas I'm about 45 minutes away. One evening, after hanging out with my sisters all day, we were famished and of course this was their opportunity to take me to their leader "Hambones" (ha). We opted to eat in the dining area and when I tell you we grubbed and left no evidence behind, trust! Our plates where white as snow (ha)! We even ordered more to go. I then asked the server, do you sell the sauce? They said yes, and now I am apart of the Hambones Cult. My sister went the other day, and of course she called to ask, do you want anything? Me: most definitely! The sauce please!!! I suggested to the owner, to please put your sauce, your mac & cheese​ and your rib tips in the markets. He smiled and was very pleased that we love his creations. You can tell this place loves to cook and loves it even more, knowing that the customers enjoy their blessed hands.
