So i am a bit confused about the photos here, because there is an actual restaurant looking place, some little cart and a food truck. Hopefully they are all related. My review is based on the food truck. It was my son's birthday. He was allowed to chose anything he wanted for dinner. Any price point... anything. Well i had seen this on Instagram and shared it with him two weeks prior. At first he wanted to go to Nobu or there were a few other high end options, but that is not his style honestly. Luckily, he remembered the post that I shared. He wanted to go here. Well, buckle up kids, we are going on a field trip! We left work/schools early and took a drive to Compton. When our navigation said we had arrived it suggested we park in the lot across from the library. Ok. There directly in front of the library was the food truck. There was a small line, so that was ideal. Not a long wait. My other smaller human and i went to wash their hands in the library. When i came out he had ordered the hungry man or something. It was more than enough for us. The oxtail was good. The ribs were good. The chicken was good. The cornbread was yummy. Just not over the moon for the greens... and i loooove collard greens. But that's ok. We went for the meats. They were out of the dinosaur ribs, so maybe if we go early enough next time, we can try those. We took it across the street to the park and ate and that was enough time for the small one to also play to get energy out before we headed home. The drive home was long, now that rush hour traffic had started. But none of us complained, because the meal was worth it. read more

...I'm at a loss for words by how horrible this was. I don't normally write reviews but I had to make an exception for this place. I'll try to be concise. This review is for the Paramount location. I got a few items: Dino rib, pork ribs, brisket, sausage, mac and cheese and corn bread. I'll start with the positives. The mac and cheese and corn bread were decent. Also they took 15 minutes to give me all the varied food I ordered which should have been my red flag to run, but I decided to live dangerously and was punished severely for it. Now on to the travesty, the meat. The theme for today was dry, old and shameless. The pork was somehow undercooked and dry. Which if you can endure the cruelty, is actually kind of impressive. The brisket resembled beef jerky. I'm including pictures of the brisket since those speak much more eloquently than I can. I love to cook and I infamously over season my dishes. But all these meats were at a whole another level. Not salty but aggressively peppery and just ham handed. The rub was flavorful but it blew out my palette instantly. Please take this to heart: less is more. In terms of meat quality? Cheap. My Dad is a butcher, I can tell. Everything being reheated did the meat quality no favors either. The seasoning was further exacerbated because the ribs, both dino and pork, were almost entirely bone. So you have a ton of seasoning on a lick of meat. It was a recipe for disaster. And price? Expensive, especially for what I received. Insulting for what I received. I'll end it here. I don't want to waste your time like this place wasted mine. read more

Came here this past Sunday. There's only street parking. We ordered Hungry's Man 3 Meat Platter. We got Brisket, Pork Ribs, Beef Links and a side of Turkey Leg. This platter includes 2 sides. We got Candied Yams and Mac and Cheese. IMO, it was a little bland. I like the way it was seasoned but I felt it just was lacking a bit of flavor. All 3 meats were a bit dry. But I'm glad they didn't try to marinade everything sweet like other bbq places. The sides were good!!! I enjoyed the Mac and cheese! The sauces were good as well! I didn't ask, but I wondered if they have a spicy choice? Either way, the sauce is good and tasty. Overall, it's def not bad at all. Shout out to the guy when I went that told me about the special they were having . They always have specials through the week. Mac n cheese and potato salad were so flavorful. Arrived around 12:30 on a Saturday and there were 4-5 people ahead of us, but the line moved fast. Good thing we arrived when we did because the line started growing quite a bit while we were there. The pork ribs, brisket and chicken we ordered were cooked to absolute perfection. Super tasty bark without being overly salty. First off very clean and inviting truck with a lady selling home made beverages like lavender or strawberry lemonade and cakes and desserts. When we stood in line trying to look at the menu a man working the truck called us over and welcomed us to try some of their bbq. Man oh man my kids are your typical picky eaters but not today. I couldn't decide so I decided to try a bit of everything with THE TRY MAN combo. My sons and I both thought everything was soooo bomb. Great smokey black pepper flavor. If you like a rich sweet brown sugar bbq sauce they got you covered. I tried the meat with and without the sauce NEITHER disappointed. The meat is good quality meat and the sauces are on point! The food was just a little cold when i received it. Service is decent however they are going to need a second cashier the line can get pretty long. I did notice one of the cooks grabbing the food bare hand (no gloves). The location itself is a decent size but tables are set up together for the most part (picnic style). Overall food is great, I paid $52 for the #1 but this included an extra side I order plus a tip (support the up&coming business). Overall it was just ok. Would I return? No. The wait was about 30 minutes. I got two meats ribs and Turkey Al Cart. There was too much peppercorn on both of my meats and the ribs was not done. To go service was quick. The best sauce was the sweet & spicy (most limited for a reason). There is a Creole restaurant in our family. They are my barometer for good bbq. I regret giving Kitchen Corner, one of our Black-owned restaurants, a 2 out of 5 rating. I had eagerly anticipated visiting the truck for some time and was excited to learn they had opened a restaurant at 8320 Alondra Boulevard in Long Beach, as I am not a fan of food trucks. My few attempts to visit the truck on Rose St were hindered by large crowds and limited parking, as there were many food trucks on the main street. On Friday, February 20th, 2026, I finally tried the barbecue. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed upon returning home. The ribs were dry, resembling leftovers or possibly overcooked, reheated, or not--I couldn't tell. The brisket included at least two pieces with excessive fat, which I plan to include pictures of. I spent $35 today after waiting so long out of anticipation to try this place, but I was ultimately let down. I went to the Manchester location. Based on the feedback from those standing in line, this somewhat long line was much shorter than the Compton location. I arrived about 1pm, so roughly 2 hours after they open. There were about 10 people ahead of me. I wanted to try this place based on the IG and Tik Tok rave. My intention was to go with their smoked ox tails, ribs and brisket for my daughter and I. By the time I was up to place my order, they were sold out of everything except pork ribs and dino ribs. I went with the pork ribs and 1 side of mac and cheese. They didn't have yams today, they were sold out of collard greens. Hungry and eager to see what all the rave was about. Not bad, but certainly not great. The inconsistency of a few pieces were really dry and others were a bit more like pork chops instead of ribs. There was really no flavor to them. That normal BBQ rib on the grill taste of falling off the bone did not happen. The mac and cheese was actually one I wouldn't pay for again. You could taste salt and pepper, nothing else. Not sure what cheese they used, not sure how it was cooked, but the extra salty was huge no for my daughter and I. It just wasn't what I was expecting after so much hype. For the price (special was sold out), I don't think it was worth the drive nor the cost. The guys' service was great. I think they could use a better system for ordering food that's already cooked just waiting to be prepared. Overall, not sure I'd make a special trip for it again. read more

I'm sorry for this review today 6/5/26 @1110 this morning I had a bad BBQ pork rib. I purchased the 02 meat order with the 02 sides. Brisket and pork ribs, mac and cheese and BBQ baked beans. My order was #10 and I took my order back behind the library, and started eating off the biggest rib bone in the aluminum tray. Looking back and rewinding that moment When I was tasting the food. That first rib was really lite in color compared to the other ribs in my tray. After that one bone I sampled and eating a little of the brisket and tasting the sides. I closed up everything and drove off to eat the rest after my work day. That's when it went all bad!! My stomach was jacked up!! I've been to the toilet about six times today.I had to throw my unfinished BBQ tray in the trash. I've had great experience in past eating at Kitchens Corner BBQ, in the CPT. Top BBQ in the area. They always have a long line during mid-day so before it opens or after 3pm its the best time to come with usually 10+ or so people in line. I always get the 3 meat combo with ribs, hot link and brisket which was excellent. The entire plate was fire! They also have turkey legs, oxtails, chicken and sometimes i see fish on the menu.. The best you'll find around town and davidlee is one of the nicest people i met! Very friendly and helpful. I came from far away to enjoy this. If you come at 4-5pm its risky because they run out of items and its expected due to the volume of customers they get! I've been following Kitchen's Corner on social media since it only had one location and was just a solo-operated tent, and I recently had the chance to try it with my friend and girlfriend. We both ordered two 1/2lb fatty brisket plates during their Sunday brisket promotion and it was FIRE. Genuinely some of the best brisket I've had, and the mac was on the same level, if not almost outshined the brisket. Portions were very generous, each plate (which was $17) was enough to feed my girlfriend and I and the service was awesome as well.
