These are the Rib Tips after I picked off the hard overcooked burnt pieces
    Sandra M.

I decided today that I wanted some good old fashioned barbecue so I decided to visited my old stumping ground "Jay Bee's Bar B Q" . Man was I wrong. So I ordered the two meat dinner and I chose Beef Ribs and Rip Tips (pork) and when I tell you that everything I mean every single piece was overcooked and burnt. Now I spent over 20.00 for this meal and only thing that was ok was the store bought potato salad and the baked beans. If you want good quality Barbecue speed on by this place and go elsewhere. Mrs. Neely I'm sure is turning in her grave knowing that they are serving and selling trash like this...

Beef ribs, chopped beef brisket, potato salad and baked beans
    Cosette R.

Best barbecue I've had in the South Bay by a long shot. This place is the real deal! The chopped brisket melted in my mouth and the beef ribs slid off the bone. I chose the extra hot bbq sauce and it was the perfect spice level! I'll definitely be back!

Pork ribs look and tasted like they were reheated several time super dry and had a awful taste..very disappointed I've been coming here for years and this is unacceptable..such a waste of money..not ever coming back!!!

I been eating at Jay Bee's since the mid 70's. Can't go wrong with all the food. Brisket is my favorite.

Sweetie : ice cream with honey drizzle Honeymee : ice cream with a honeycomb *but what I usually do is ask for a sweetie with a honeycomb or a honeymee with honey drizzle. My husband has tried the shake too and it's just as good as the ice cream. It's such a simple dessert but sooo good. It may look "plain" but the taste is everything but plain. The ice cream and honey just go PERFECT together! Always a good treat.

The place has this classic ice cream shop feel with pastel aesthetics mixed into a modern clean vibe which mixes practicality with style. I LOVE the glass panel decoration and the front decor which are simple details yet convenient decoration. The options have an interesting range in diversity, from ice cream and drinks. Their combinations are so unique, blending trendy flavors like matcha, honey, and many more delicious flavors. My favorite flavor I have tried so far, was the Dalgona Affogato--which I picked because I was thinking of the squid games. The dessert was so smooth but the honey was slightly overbearing. If that is not to your preference, they have other options that can certainly fit to your taste buds. The ice cream is perfectly sweet and an excellent treat in this summer weather. The honey crisps placed on top of the ice were so little, which I wished they had a bit more since it tasted so good with the smooth ice cream. Another thing I hoped was for the affogato to be a bit bigger portion. But then again, I am unsure about the sizings of affogato since this is my first time trying it. Thank you Honeymee Gardena for the experiance, hoping to try more in the future. (Update: Making this edit because I accidentally spelled the cafe name wrong in my previous review which I apologize for. The typo was made because when I was writing the review, I was also very busy so I wrote everything in a hurry and wasn't able to make changes. And yes, this update took so long to be made because when I write reviews, especially in this case, I often do different reviews all at once.)

I ordered an original with vanilla filling. The pricing has remained the same but the size of the puff appears to be smaller. They do have some really good cream puff flavors, the vanilla cream is my go-to, and my kids love the chocolate. The customer service needs some work. Every single time I've been there, it kind of feels like the staff is just not thrilled to help, and that vibe definitely takes away from the experience. I keep coming back because the cream puffs are delicious, but I really wish they'd at least crack a smile or make you feel a bit more welcome. I did see a fly on a cream puff once, and while they did toss it out after I pointed it out, it'd be great if they covered the pastries so that doesn't happen. And be prepared to wait a bit because they fill the puffs to order, which is nice for freshness but can slow things down.

Worth it! Worth it! WORTH IT!…read more True Kagoshima wagyu, A5-grade. If try it, and find you don't like it, then you should be honest with yourself and realize wagyu ain't for you. 24-seats, and they surely fill up during the weekends. The weeknights are more down tempo, and easier to get a seat reserved. The whole experience is the first place to really remind me of Japan, and really stab that dagger of yearning deep into your guts of wanting to go back. And eat. It's the kind of attention and hospitality you get from like, a locals spot in Kyoto. If you can handle all the rich fatty goodness, and you crave calories, the premium menu at $90 should do the job. I opted for the $10 supplement of A5 wagyu sushi... and honestly, as the last course before dessert, I was all wagyu'd out. Like my gallbladder didn't have any bile to spare to deal with the absolute rich, fatty goodness. But $10 for 2 pieces of wagyu sushi is an EXCELLENT deal, considering most other sushi spots will easily charge you $20+++ for the luxury. One of the surprises for me was how good their house curry is. I will tell you, I am not a curry person. I grew up on Thai curry. I've had Indian curry. British Indian curry. Japanese curry from all over the place, especially multiple times from Curry House will unfortunately perished during the disease lockdown of 2020. Never cared for it, simply tolerated it curry because family cooked it or a friend wanted it. But curry here is the first where I could go back for 2nds or 3rds, or even go out of my way to drive back here and get more. It's so uniquely harmonious and tantalizing in all the right ways. But every course, every cut of beef, even the USDA Prime stuff, worked for me. And the side of condiments is just... it should be the standard everywhere. Salt. Yuzu Kosho. Grated garlic. Red pepper powder. Season to your personal taste, to already lush, melt-in-your-mouth luscious beef. I'm at the place in my life where I do not need to eat "all that I can." That stage where in life where you mature, and where what you require... "your tastes are simple. Only the BEST." I've had different wagyu beef courses that easily cost $200+, in places in LA which we will not whisper about in hushed tones. Wagyu Butcher bests those places, a bitchsmacks the hot diarrhea shit out of the competition in preparation, quality, service, and value. I'd easily be a regular here, even when it's over an hour's drive across multiple freeways, far and away from me.

I had seen some social media posts raving about this place & with this being located in the South Bay area, I knew it was going to be worth the drive. There are 3 different courses to choose from, Tenma Omakase $50 - appetizers of pickled vegetables, beef soup, 5 varieties of wagyu meat, curry rice, today's dessert. Butcher Omakase $75 - appetizers of pickled vegetables, beef soup, US Wagyu sashimi, 7 varieties of meat, curry rice, today's dessert. Wagyu Omakase $90 - appetizers of pickled vegetables, beef soup, US Wagyu sashimi, 7 varieties of meat, curry rice, Chef's special dessert. You have a choice of beef curry or upgrading for A5 Wagyu sushi $10 & adding uni for another $10. I got the Butcher Omakase with the A5 Wagyu sushi topped with uni. They bring the big slab of wagyu sushi & literally torch it to give it an added flavor. It was definitely good but I would actually skip the uni as the creamy flavor of uni & the fatty wagyu flavor cancel each other out. It diminishes the greatness of 2 amazing ingredients. The beef soup is a consommé made from the wagyu bones/trimmings & it has such a richness, the bold umami flavor really leaves you speechless. The pickled vegetables and kimchi were okay. I would have preferred spinach goma-ae or something like a small cucumber & wakame salad. Each course of meat was slightly different. There were 3 different cuts of tongue, all good but the cut from the underside of the tongue was a bit chewy. As each course came, the meat quality & flavor kept getting better! All of us agreed that the best & the star of the Omakase is/was the Wagyu Sukiyaki!! The sweet smell of the sukiyaki sauce drizzled over the wagyu as it sizzled on the grill was drool-worthy. Once it was quickly cooked, the wagyu is dipped into the whipped sukiyaki cream! It looked so weird but it was absolutely heavenly!! You can order small bowl of ramen or extra cuts of different wagyu but the Sukiyaki Wagyu is not available a la carte or as an extra serving. Darn it! The dessert was a Hoji-cha purin (pudding or more like flan). I've never had Hoji-cha purin & it was actually as good if not better than matcha to end the scrumptious meal. The service there was top notch, each dish was explained well and they cooked the meat quickly with attention to detail, good presentation. Our waitress even came out from behind the counter to take pictures of our extended family by the wall sign next to the front door! Wagyu Butcher has a wrap around rectangular counter seating only so it is a bit tricky to seat in a big group. We had 6 of us and it was hard to have a conversation with everyone. The only problem I saw with this seating arrangement was how they accommodate guests in wheelchairs or special mobility devices. Maybe they have a table in the back corner that I didn't see from where I sat. We all want to go back again for the next special occasion dinner! It was worth every minute of the drove down & more!!
