This place is always a hit. Definitely my favorite Louisiana. Whether getting the shrimp fried rice (ask for extra shrimp) or fried chicken and shrimp, you will not be disappointed. The only downside is there is always at least a 10-15 min wait because there is almost always a line but the prices are solid. The customer service is polite but busy. There really isn't anywhere to sit and wait inside so I typically wait in my car. But the seasoning and crispy nature of the chicken and shrimps batter is out of this world. It was freshly made but was not HOT and they provided margarine versus butter; me LOVING butta, asked for an extra side of it; CHA'CHING 50¢. Nope, I'm not paying that. I was glad that I didn't because the discovering that it was margarine was a major disappointment. I tried warming the waffle but NOPE it went to the trash. My most recent experience yesterday, I asked for a snack pack with a thigh and fresh fries. The lady told me it would be 20 minutes for fresh fries. I stopped eating here quite some time ago (Used to live in the area, still work in the area) as the way I have seen them treat people is sick and with open hostility and contempt, and as paying customers. For Louisiana style fried chicken, I usually drive over to the original Louisiana restaurant on Normandie and Manchester in L.A. My mom discovered this location, which saves us a trip. Their fried chicken is really good. I've never had a problem with my food or the service. I've ordered the fried fish before and I didn't like it. The batter was bland. And speaking of yuck, their gumbo is awful! The roux doesnt taste like a roux and it's really dark. I've never seen a roux so dark before. I was honestly afraid to taste it because of that color, but I did...wish I hadn't. However, the fried chicken and the fried shrimp is delicious! Their fries are pretty good, too. This is a small restaurant and they do take call-in orders, but if someone pays with a card, the little card device uses the same phone line, so you will get a busy signal until that transaction is done.
