I vacillate between a 4 and 5 star review. On one hand I love the team work these workers have in assembling their masterpiece hamburgers but am I wowed by the flavor? Well to me it's simply a burger. I will say I'm old so take all this with a grain of salt. The fries are to me at least a bit soft and oily but evidently people love them. I guess I'm more of the crunchy over cooked fry type of guy. That doesn't mean that I don't realize that I may be off in my assessment. The prices are I guess ok. Definitely more than a McDonald's burger. Also if you order it with everything on it don't expect the bun to cooperate. It gets a bit soggy and broken but what else do you expect when you lay every type of addition to it? Again I'm trying to be diplomatic in my assessment. I ordered two cheeseburgers with lettuce tomato and pickles came home and opened them and one had mushrooms with a lot of onions and the other one had mayo and grilled and fresh onions. I called they told me to go back and they would redo it and mind you five guys is in the next city. I went back the manager Miguel personally made them i opened one of the burgers and it was correct like I ordered. I got home ate it when I opened the second they added mayo. How do you get it wrong both times?!!!! I wasted my time and gas and when I got home my fries were cold. The little burger combo with a little side of fries is a lot of food. My mom and I usually split one but she devoured her little cheeseburger all on her own. She had all the condiments without onions. I got a little hamburger "all the way" but forgot they use a lot of ketchup. The fries are nicely done and is really enough to share, I asked for less salt on it. However, the crew left out the shake and I had to ask for it. Then, sadly I was disappointed by the flavor of the strawberry shake, it seemed to taste so medicinal to soapy, although there was a lot of chopped fruit in it; It might have been exposed or contaminated by whatever cleaning solution used on the prep surfaces. I was greeted as soon as I walked in which was great. I spent $20 on a burger, fries and a soda. I waited for about 10 minutes while the four employees behind the counter talked and laughed. I had to ask for a cup for my soda while I waited. The lady said oh sorry, and then went back to talking. This was my first time at Five Guys in yearrrrs and I have to say, it's not worth it. The best part was the soda machine with different combination of sodas. They have a help yourself soda machine, you can choose the ice quantity and the drink. The burger tastes sooo fresh and I loved that when I called to place an order, they waited till I arrived to provide the freshest fries with my order!! I usually get a cheeseburger done all the way (without mustard though) and it's the best thing ever! If you're scared of getting mushrooms on your burger, DON'T BE because it's a game changer! Visited Five Guys after a hiatus. I was surprised about the quality, taste and great customer service. The burgers are on the pricey side, pricier than The Habit, for example, but they are waaaay better than the habit. The patty is plump and juicy, something In N Out has gone downhill on. And then there are the fries, they're perfect, creamy and well seasoned, the large order is $8.59 now, but there were plenty of fries for three of us to share. Employees are pretty nice, both times I went I had a decent interaction and my food was ready in a decent amount of time (it's faster when there's no one else who ordered before you.) the burgers are great, everything is well seasoned and cooked. The fries are good, I personally like them with light Cajun seasoning because it adds extra flavoring. The Oreo cookie shake I had was good too. The good? The burgers, excellent! Closest thing to a home made charred burger. The fries, very good. The drinks are refillable and plenty of them to choose between. The bad? Overpriced and devoid of any value, regardless of the taste, flavor, presentation, quality or quantity! The burgers are small, for a regular burger at $10+ I expect a spectacular LARGE burger and here Five Guys fails miserably. The fries have a real problem, quantity. Potatoes are cheap and at $4.99 small, $6+ medium and $8+ large your got a genuine ripoff when considering the portion bagged and served. In addition to the food, the wait time is painful. It's understandable when you consider it's a fresh made burger on the grill top. Let's talk about the cheese! For around a dollar, you can get "American cheese " added to your burger. That's 1 slice of "fake" cheese for a buck so their cheeseburger comes in at $11+. There are many burger joints that will combo a burger with fries and a drink at around $10. Most of the joints will bag a big portion of fries with a burger that's comparable in size to five guys or larger. Try it for yourself, see what you think. For me, it's one and done. In n Out is a better deal and you can depend on the value. read more
