I enjoyed my visit and would describe the food I tried as good but not exceptional. FOOD I tried the Arrachera taco (considered premium and costs about 50% more than the other tacos) and the Al Pastor taco. I like the tortillas. The arrachera was good but for the higher price, I would've liked the meat quality to still be a little better. They have a salsa bar outside but it was a bit messy looking on my visit. I chose not to use it as it visually looked unappetizing. SERVICE They are friendly here. PARKING This is basically a small stand. There is no seating and no parking. You can park next door at Starbucks but you might get towed. Your other option is street parking further away and then just walk there.
Love these tacos! They are the best tacos we have here in Downey.. IMO. Love that they serve the al pastor with the slice of pineapple... so delicious and so fresh! Their carne asada is also good as well! Parking is a little funky and it can get a little busy..
Tacos Don Goyo is a must-try if you love savory, authentic tacos. Their tortillas maded fresh and the guacamole is delicious -- creamy with just the right brightness. The arrachera is flavorful and tender, but my top pick was the Tacos Perron: served on a flour tortilla and piled with guacamole and a bright tomato salsa. Don't forget the al pastor tacos either -- they're excellent. Prices are on the pricier side (roughly $4.13 to $6.73 per taco), but you get quality ingredients, a seating area, and available parking. Service was friendly and attentive -- highly recommend giving them a try.
The food was burnt i asked for a baked potatoe and i asked the girl is it a baked potatoe she said yes no its not they are chuncks they are so hard the meat is burned and the cheese is burnt we will never go here again ever we do not recommend
Lowkey taco place but was one of the better taco places I've tried ! There's a cul de sac next to Tacos Don Goyo for you to park your car and 3 tables for seating. We got 2 asada, 2 carnitas, and 2 pastor tacos. So good !
The wife and I were craving some tacos, we heard some good things about tacos don goyo so we decided to try it out. We got there on a Friday at 12pm and when we arrived to the location, the parking was ridiculous, they do not have any parking for customers other than in a very small cul de sac which is French for a dead end. They have 1 parking spot for handicap. It is obvious that the neighboring houses complained to the city about their customers taking all the residential parking so they built a wall in the middle of the street, crazy right! Anyways, let's get into the food!!! So we got the tacos, 4 pastor and 4 asada and a horchata, came out to about $50. Pretty pricey, worth it? I don't know. The tacos were great, the asada has a char flavor and the pastor is freshly roasted and served with pineapple, the tortillas seemed to be made by hand as well and gave it that real authentic flavor. The horchata was a bit too sweet. I would recommend this place, but make sure you go when it is not busy. The staff were polite and helpful when ordering, they did not rush at all. They have 3 benches in the shade available to eat on. It is an outside dining in a clean environment.
BEST CARNE ASADE EVERRRR!!! My husband and i split the fries and wow they are amazing. Love their salsas too. Everyone is always nice. Its a walk up eatery so sometimes there arent any tables but we eat in the car with no problems. The asada is so tender and smokey - great grilled flavor just like if you made it at home. Recommend to everyone! Parking is limited as well but VERY worth it
I've had lots of tacos in my 35 years... not many (if any) can beat the ones I had today (1/13/26) at Tacos Don Goyo. Unreal... the flavor... the FRESH tortillas... the salsa (which was spicy enough without being TOO spicy) and as you can see in the photos the amount of meat they give you is more than your moneys worth (the tacos are $4 each... worth every penny). The folks were very friendly and the service was quick! I WILL be back here regularly and telling all my work friends about this place. Well done team!!!
Solid Mexican food in Downey. First time I tried it, I had an asada mulita which was good, second time I visited I had their asada fries which were also good and the third time I had their al pastor mulita which I liked the best out of all of them but the star of the show is definitely their Cali Burrito, it's delicious! I would recommend that for sure. I also love that their tortillas are homemade which is a huge plus! The place itself is small only take out as their seating is limited and outdoors, parking is a little hectic on Telegraph so plan accordingly. Overall I would definitely recommend for some solid Mexican eats in Downey.
These photos don't do this place justice. The food is flavorful and delicious! There's handmade tortillas are amazing. There are tables on the side with some benches. Very local feeling atmosphere. We came at a really good time because a line was forming right as we were getting our food. We also had the California burrito and went with nacho cheese which made it a bit messy but was still super tasty. The jamica was perfect! Worth getting a large.
Now if we're going off parking. This place is a no for me, but the tacos are something spectacular. What really makes a good taco good ? Let's see the cut meat, fresh produce ,good quality tortilla and of course the salsa. This was a pricey taco experience for taco Tuesday when things are usually discounted.. $38 for eight tacos seems kinda high. The tacos were good. I heard they have multiple locations. I hope they have better parking at the other ones.
Stopped by after a 5K run. The tacos are fresh, comes with Guacamole, Onions, Cilantro, and a slice of pineapple The tortillas seem to be fresh. Ours were Luke warm., not hot off the grill. The flavor was good. Not overly salty. The meat is cut right off of the Trumpo. This is a small taco shop with 3 bench tables outside. I will be coming back to give them another try, look for another review from me
Love the food here! Today was my second time stopping by. They are located on a busy street with very limited parking on the side. They have outdoor seating. They have a great variety of meats and items. Today I tried the torta de carnitas which was so good but it got soggy quite fast. My bf tried the asada burrito which was full of flavor but personally I think the meat is on the chewy side. I previously tried their sope de chorizo which I definitely recommend! The wait wasn't too long considering there was no one in line to order when we arrived.

I have been to Goyo only 3 times. It's so close to my house I wish I loved it. My rating is based on flavor, service, and overall tacos. I got 4 tacos (2) of Alpastor (2) Buche . (1) Mulita of Alpastor. The cost tacos are $4.25 each Mulita $6.25. With that said you would think the tacos would be top notch for the price. Alpastor 2/5, flavor is bland and not that good. Buche 1/5, horrible flavor they're not good at all. Mulita 3/5, was the best thing I got because of the cheese. Salsas 2.5/5 decent but not great. Tortilla: 2/5 Hand made, but under cooked. Service: 1/5 horrible customer service, server doesn't even look at you, and when you ask a question they get mad. The cashier is just as bad attitude. Overall I'll never come back, for the price there are better street tacos. Just have to drive to them. read more

Great place to eat if you're in the Downey or LA area. I'd say it's one of the best taco spots--my wife and I really love it. I highly recommend the tacos, especially the carne asada and al pastor--they're the best on the menu. I've tried the quesadillas, but they weren't as tasty, and the tripitas weren't the best either. For the best experience stick with carne asada and al pastor. They have about three small tables on the side to eat, but there's no parking or restroom available. Bring hand sanitizer and be ready to park wherever you can (without causing any trouble). It's the LA area, so parking is always a challenge. But don't let that stop you from trying these tacos. Cheers! read more
This was on my places to visit and I was glad to finally get the chance to try out their tacos. Parking was a bit challenging, but I got lucky. Let me start by saying they hand make their corn tortillas and are extremely generous with the amount of meat and guacamole they put in each taco. They also have a small salsa bar in front of their small building. I had the regular Carne Asada tacos and the Quesotaco Asada. I added the greenish and bright red salsas and lemon to both of the tacos and had some of the radish slices and dove in. They use good quality meat and the tortillas and guacamole are also good quality and provided quick and friendly service. Unfortunately, everything was lacking flavor...it was bland. I am not sure if they use salt or other spices when they make everything but I couldn't taste anything. If they could add some spices and seasonings to everything they would have amazing tacos. Maybe if I would have added salt it would have hit better. read more

$4 plus a taco! Insane, I can understand if it was a nice sit down place but, an outdoor place with limited parking nah, you're better off going to Tacos Gavilan under $3 with seating area and free beans!... read more
Did not live up to the recent hype. Tried their Papa Loca with Pastor. The flavor of the meat was good but the cook on it was not. The potato is supposed to be baked but they serve it like it's breakfast style cubed potatoes. Super weird. The salsas are spicy but not much flavor. The tortillas are good though I'll give them that. But I will not return. read more

Man, wanted to give this place a better review. The two stars are for the salsa bar, and that the food was edible. Unfortunately won't be coming back. We got multiple different items and it lacked so much flavor. The salsa saved it from a 1 star. Customer service is terrible. Girl taking our order was super rude. She also was looking at me sideways because I don't speak Spanish which is wild to me but it's fine. We got a chicken quesadilla and the cheese wasn't melted at all and the chicken was dry. It was horrible. Oh the horchata was great though. 2 stars for that too. Unfortunate. read more

Pay cash to get 4% off!! They are closed on Mondays. No bathroom so need to walk to Starbucks. Parking can be difficult. Best tacos ever. Fresh handmade tortillas, FLAVORFUL meat that makes your mouth water. The quesotacos are my wife's favorites. You can't go wrong with your meat selection. It's all spectacular. My wife is a Mexican food connoisseur and says that Don Goyo is up there with the best tacos she has ever had if not the best. Enjoy! read more

I've been coming here for years but yesterday at night shift I've noticed that the person who was making our tostada or vampiro blowed on his glove which goes against the health department procedures, besides the food was made cold and had bad aspect. read more
