There have been upgrades to the look and menu that are nice but take away from the feel of it being small and family owned. They have added some fluorescent signs, likely in the effort to be more attractive to influencers for photo ops. The service isn't what it used to be. I appreciated the huge LCD menu mounted on the wall, which made ordering very simple. The combo meals come with a single scoop of guacamole and a small serving of chips - just enough to hit the spot without having to order a full side - I like that! The highlights were the chile verde and nachos. The kids menu offered a choice of nachos, quesadillas or tacos with chips, guacamole and a fountain drink, which my little ones thoroughly enjoyed. I LOVE that Casa Garcia serves orange Bang as a fountain drink. It's so nostalgic. They offered fountain selections of horchata, jamaica and tamarind as well as Mexican bottled Coke and Jarritos. I think I need to go back just to try something different, it was that good. Should I go today? Service was efficient and friendly. Prices were reasonable as avocados these days feel like they're listed on the stock exchange. Lastly, some Yelpers have mentioned their disdain for the boiled chicken but I actually think this offering is more authentic than a seasoned or grilled chicken. For all the people complaining about wait times, the wait is worth it! But definitely download their app or call ahead and place your order - it certainly helps. Though, sometimes you may get misquoted even on the app. They're human and providing a delicious operation to the city of Pico Rivera for almost 50 years. Give them a break! The place is always clean, the staff friendly as can be. They know me by name due to the amount of times I'm there each month. Hands down, my favorite place to eat a meal at any day of the week. This review is focused solely on the wait time. Management seriously needs to reconsider how they handle online orders because it's disrupting the entire restaurant. We waited over 45 minutes for two dine-in plates while online orders were treated as the priority. The dining area and cleanup also felt disorganized, which only added to the frustration. I genuinely enjoy the food here -- it's excellent -- but there is no excuse for a 45-minute wait for dine-in service. If they don't find a better balance between online and in-person customers, they're going to start losing loyal customers like myself. read more

I gave them a bad review last time because of the service and I could blame it all on the Covid restrictions at that time so I tried them for lunch today. The service has improved, I was welcomed in and was taken care of as soon as I decided what I wanted, that is where all the positive stops. I ordered a carnitas burrito and a small order of green chili nachos, I get it, the nachos have cold cheese and cold guacamole but I ordered it to eat there and even the meat was cold so it was only, the burrito was even worse it had no flavor, the beans and rice, bland the carnitas tasted like boiled pork, no flavor I guess they don't know what seasoned food should taste like. I'm 61 years old and can remember rushing to the old location after high school to devour an order of nachos, they would prepare it right in front of you pile the chips in the tray bathe them in the green chili with pork than add the guacamole and cheese, what a treat. This is only an old man's memory this mystical plate no longer exists. Sorry Casa Garcia you are failing the original owners and the legacy they left. read more
