I had this place way back when they had just the food truck in Long Beach and I remember that they were so delicious At the restaurant it change already, food it's just ok, I would go back again to see if it was just an off day They don't have any spicy salsas anymore that made me sad, and also no tripas

Wow ! We loved these tacos . We were visiting my sister who lives in Whittier from Ventura County . We got hungry and she suggested these for lunch. I got 1 asada vampiro & 2 asada tacos . All delicious . The avocado salsa is so good and I love my tacos with repollo! The meat flavor was pretty good. I also got a side of frijoles de la olla . We got our food delivered and it was still hot and vampiros were super crunchy! Score ! Good customer service! We will be back!

If you're in the mood for tacos, this spot definitely delivers. The tacos are flavorful, freshly made, and generously filled. The meat was well seasoned, tortillas warm, and topping including salsa were very flavorful. Service was friendly and efficient even during busy rush and spit had a casual and welcoming vibe. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion size. Whether you're stopping for a quick bite or bring friends along, this is definitely a solid taco spot I'd happily rerun to. Highly recommend!!

Tacos La Carreta makes great Sinaloan tacos with smoky carne asada. The location has cool food truck design elements as a nod to their roots. They were out of pellizcada this time, so I'll have to return to try the thick masa. Chorreada: The corn tortilla is large and crunchy. Structurally, it's sturdier than you think and holds up well under all the meat. You pick up the flat tortilla and take crispy meaty bites. The mesquite grilled asada is solid - with chopped sirloin steak full of great beefy and smoky flavors. The onions and cabbage have a super fine dice, which really absorbs the flavors well. Vampiro: The vampiro is similar to the chorreada, except for the thick and savory cheese melted on the tortilla. Bonus: Grilled onions and a grilled chili pepper are soft and sweet. The avocado salsa is great with the steak and adds a nice and creamy touch. Agua Fresca de Cebada: The drink has a creamy, nutty, cinnamon flavor like horchata. This barley beverage is also really sweet.

Been with these tacos since they were in a tire shop more than 10 years ago and it is impressive to see how far this place has come, not only that, but also with the quality and true flavors of the Sinaloa Style tacos. My favorite now is the pellizcada which for some could be the whole meal. I order way too much always because I cannot get enough! Adobada flavor is amazing! All the salsas and guacamole are always so fresh and taste just like a taqueria in Sinaloa. This place definitely deserves the hype and compliment for putting true Mexican quality out there! Service is the least thing to worry about at a taqueria, this is not a sit-down, relax! Always packed which is always a great sign, don't mind the wait!

    Interior always busy!

Frequent customer here! Look no further if you want to experience Sinaloa style street tacos! Just like the Mercadito in Culiacán. The meat is always tender, juicy, and so flavorful! The adobada and asada are the best! You can't miss the agua de cebada which is my ultimate favorite! It's a barley agua fresca. Place is always busy and not best for big groups as it gets very busy -- specially Friday through Sunday nights. Service is always fast and friendly. Definitely my to go spot when I crave tacos Sinaloa style.

I've been to their original location or truck in the bordering area of Long Beach before. This is my first visit to their new brick and mortar spot. I loved their food so I knew I was in for a treat. But it's also nice to have the atmosphere or vibe of coming into a lively taqueria such as this place. Not only is their service very friendly and they operate very efficiently here, I am happy to report. The food is just as great as the original location. They also have a DIY salsa and toppings bar here. I ordered the chorteada de mixta (asada y adobada) and the pellizcada de adobada. Both items were just so delicious and a great mix of flavors and textures. Both of the items were just so well presented as well and they certainly didn't skimp on the toppings. I mean the food here is really such a treat. The parking is really easy as well because the lot of the strip mall is pretty large

One thing about living in the Whittier area is that it can be a real struggle to find a truly great taco spot. I decided to try this location after my brother recommended it, and I'm glad I did. On a separate visit, I tried their asada tacos, which were solid. The asada was tender with a decent flavor. Nothing too special, Now the real star of the show in my opinion is their adobada tacos. These tacos absolutely hit the spot. The meat was tender, flavorful, and very satisfying with each bite. I also tried it as their quesadilla and it was just as delicious. The only downside is that the spot is small and feels a bit cramped, especially around the entryway, So I recommend showing up early before the crowd builds.

Torta, papa loca, and torito. All of it was delicious

Great food! Staff was wonderful. Definitely worth it…read more Burria was fantastic. Not tons of seats, but good enough.

I went on a taco run yesterday to try to find the best taco in Whittier…read more Started off the run with a keto taco mixed with asada and al pastor and then a regular tripa taco. Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.

The idea was to enjoy my coffee while getting organized--paying bills, planning calendar events, and having the opportunity to focus without any distractions from my usual surroundings. In search of the perfect spot, I turned to Yelp, a reliable resource for uncovering hidden gems nearby. Upon stepping into the coffee shop, I was immediately greeted with warm hospitality, setting the tone for a delightful experience. The ambiance of the place was truly captivating--it was bright and welcoming, infused with an aesthetic charm that instantly put me at ease. I couldn't help but be intrigued by the design elements throughout the shop, which added an inviting touch to its overall atmosphere. Before I settled in, I asked the staff if I could snap a few photos to capture the essence of this delightful space. They graciously welcomed my request, and I was shown to my table, which, quite uniquely, was designated by a number--a small detail that I found charming. As I browsed the menu, I encountered a small conundrum: I wasn't entirely sure what to order. I wanted to break the mold and try something out of the ordinary. My curiosity was piqued by their exclusive offering of Café de la Olla--a traditional hot drink that piqued my interest right away. I ultimately settled on a hearty plate that included rice, beans, and enticing potato tostones, accompanied by two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs. As I waited for my order, I noticed the café was filled with the sweet sounds of old-school music from the '60s and '70s, which only enhanced the cozy ambiance while I sipped my drink. Now, let's talk about the food! I must say, I rated the café itself a solid 4 out of 5 for its overall charm, while the rice earned a respectable 4 out of 5. The beans were rich in flavor and received a fair 3.9 out of 5. The potato tostones, delicately bathed in a savory red sauce, stood out with an impressive score of 4.3 out of 5--these are a must-try if you visit! And as for the sunny-side-up eggs, they were good, but hey, eggs are eggs, right? Overall, the entire experience was quite enjoyable, from the delightful food to the warm atmosphere. A special shout-out goes to Ana, whose exceptional customer service made my visit even more memorable. The combination of fantastic service, inviting aesthetics, and satisfying food truly made for a perfect morning retreat. I can't recommend this spot enough for anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind and focus on what matters.
