We had one carne asada taco, one puffy taco, and some taquitos with guacamole sauce. 1. asada taco, i would consider this a texas style taco, since it came wiht lettuce tomatoes and yellow cheese on a soft tortilla. meat inside was good. 2. Puffy taco. Puffed taco shell filled with ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese.. Again, texas style. I was also good. 3. The taquitos were really good. I just wish they would of put more guac sauce on them. Otherwise, has some delapitated seating on the inside. They really need to makeover the inside decor and seating.. I've been coming here for a couple of decades, but I'm starting to feel like the younger generation has taken over--and unfortunately, the consistency and customer service don't seem to be what they used to be. I came last year and had an interaction with a young lady taking orders when I asked for Taquitos Tejanos with no cheese. She corrected me by saying, "So you just want taquitos?" It wasn't what she said so much as the tone and the look I received. I thought, okay, my apologies--I must have ordered it wrong. Despite that, we've continued coming because this place has always felt like a second home to me. I'm Tejana, and although I can make my own puffy tacos, we come here because the food takes me back to San Antonio. The other night, we ordered more than 15 tacos with different fillings. I specifically ordered two asada tacos on flour tortillas with only lettuce and cheese. When we got home, they had tomatoes and no cheese. I also ordered a puffy picadillo taco, and it barely had any lettuce or cheese. These tacos aren't cheap, and I don't mind paying the price when the quality is there--but please don't start getting skimpy with the toppings or inconsistent with orders. If the new generation is taking over, that's completely fine. But please teach them the importance of consistency and, most importantly, being polite to customers. A little kindness goes a long way. On this visit, I tried a ground beef, carne asada and carnitas taco. I also tried the taquitos Texanos. The taquitos were decent but nothing special. A tortilla was rolled into a tube, stuffed with ground beef, and deep-fried. The beef was a bit dry and lacked distinctive seasoning. The taqueria's salsa verde, sometimes called salsa falsa, was also lacking in flavor. Of the three tacos I tried, the carne asada and carnitas were the best. The ground beef is very traditional. Just not what I was expecting. I was craving crunchy beef tacos and figured I'd finally try this place out. Puffy taco shell was good and so were the toppings. My wife and I were very hungry and decided to order every puffy taco to see what we liked best. Here's how we ranked them: Our favorite was the Carne Guizada, followed by the Carne Asada. The Picadillo was also good; we enjoyed the seasoned ground beef. My wife was neutral on the chicken, but I personally liked it. Surprisingly, the Carnitas was our least favorite; it wasn't seasoned as well as we expected, but the other four were great, and I recommend trying them. They come with "works," which include lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, thick-cut sharp cheddar, and a red sauce. They also gave us a green sauce on the side with a nice kick. My friend decided we should come grab our lunch after pickleball at Leffingwell park. The taco shop is right inside a plaza with U-Haul. It's a store with long history and for its puffy tacos! Had a great time and the food was pretty good. The best part was the service. The daughter-in-law that worked the register was the BEST!! I would recommend you eat the Puffy there. Came during lunch with some coworkers and we ordered some of the original puffy tacos (ground beef), carnitas and asada. The ground beef one came sopping wet, so much so that the bottom lost its crisp and fell apart. The carnitas was a grayish color and the asada was really dry.
