Honestly, I've never been a person to write reviews, but this should never happen when you just want dinner. I thought I could rely on this place to make a Poke bowl where I fill out a form and say exactly what I would like. It's almost like they looked at the form and then threw it away. I placed an order in person, waited 20 minutes, drove home, and once I opened my food my food I got this crazy smell. My Poke bowl had the most amount of ginger as a topping and ginger sauce all over it. I've never eaten ginger in my life, but of course I've been around it from eating sushi. I'm like okay it's whatever, I'll just take it off and go about my night. I remove all the ginger and then I see a white hair sticking out of the sauce and this is where I just lose it. I'm so over food restaurants claiming this or that and what they offer just doesn't meet expectations. I will never go back here again. I am very disappointed. This is extremely frustrating. I just can't fathom a 123 process being butchered. I hope this helps someone think twice, maybe even three times before deciding to go here. Stopped at this place cause I saw the grand opening sign and $1 dragon rolls. I was a little skeptical at first but tHHis was a great choice. The inside is very clean and the staff very friendly. When you walk in there is a counter with menus where you just check off what you want. You can also watch them make you food. Food was amazing! I'll be back very soon! read more

Came in because I saw a grand opening sign with $1 California rolls. And it's right next to my favorite taco shop, so it has to be gOod right ? Well the CaLifornia rolls had 10 pieces for $1!! I didn't expect that much and they were bomb. Everything is made with forbidden (purple) rice, they don't have white rice. It looks cool and tastes great. I also ordered a house salad and the Volcano Roll. I was pleasantly surprised at the look and taste of it. I've never seen one that looks like this, and its probably the best one I've ever tried. I will definitely he back to try their poki bowls and sushi burritos. Oh and the staff was super sweet ! So glad this place opened up. read more

This place is a newer place and the owner and staff the friendliest and caring. Asked how we were doing and family during this virus. We ordered three sushi items and they all were awesome and just right. The veggie wrap was great. We loved the purple rice. The volcano roll was excellent and had several flavors happening in your mouth. The smoked salmon roll was good, however, not much of a smoke taste so a little disappointed. The California roll excellent. The price was great for the amount of food received. I would definitely recommend. read more

WOW!!! If you like Japanese food (sushi, tempura, udon soup, etc.), Pick N' Roll is a must stop set in a trendy, casual fast-food atmosphere. Reasonably priced, you will seriously thank me! Let me preface by saying I like to eat fresh and healthy, so much so that both my hubby and I are eating purely "plant-based." Only problem is, I get tired of the same old options when we dine out--you know, the same old boring tossed salads, steamed veggies, and (not so healthy) French fries. But, Pick N' Roll changed all that for me! Don't get me wrong...this is not a "vegan" restaurant-- they serve a majority of non-vegan choices, it's just that their plant-based selection of "poke bowl" options is FANTASTIC and definitely not boring! My poke bowl lunch consisted of their "50/50 Base" of half whole grain purple sushi rice and half green baby lettuce salad. For my "sides," I had edamame, red onion, kale, cucumber, shredded carrots, corn, kimchi, seaweed salad, pickled ginger, bell pepper, and avocado. For my "protein," I chose their baked tofu. For "toppings," I chose green onion, crunch onion, nori furikake, and sesame seed. For "dressing", I chose the garlic soy and teriyaki sauce. Now if this seems "overwhelming," let me state it was a beautiful symphony of Japanese delights--it was the most delicious and unusual salad I have ever eaten for a very reasonable price of $9.75 (plus .75 extra for avocado). (If you like dining out at Japanese restaurants, you know how expensive they usually are.) In fact, it was so delicious and reasonably priced, I've been back twice so far this week!) Now for all you seafood lovers, you can build an ocean full of seafood options on your "poke bowl," or try it in a build-your-own "sushi burrito," or go with a more traditional offering of appetizers, udon noodles, rolls (deep fried, cooked, or raw fish), and even mochi ice cream for dessert. We tried Pick N' Roll for the first time this week using GrubHub. Our food was delivered well within the delivery window and the food did not disappoint. Is this the best quality sushi in town, no. But it is a solid neighborhood place to grab a poke bowl or a sushi burrito. The sushi on a stick was also enjoyable with the included spicy cream and eel sauces. read more

I have seen this place and was curious but I have to admit I was slow and finally trying it out because I didn't understand the menu online. The short end of it was it was a very welcome find in looking for something different and healthy. Food was tasty and it was such a nice change from the same old chain options in the area. I am not a sushi connoisseur, butI like the taste of the food.I think this place is food is not supposed to be like a typical sushi place anyway. I love the purple/black rice. I will be back. I didn't deduct stars for it but I found that the hours of operation may not match what's on the door because they seem to be totally family run. Other than the blatant false advertisement of "as much as you want" the food is usually tasty. What's more perplexing is how they refuse to sell the items at additional charge even after I asked about the lack of volume being to my satisfaction for it being to the level I "want". I couldn't request or purchase more crab salad. Beyond odd and frustrating. Total lack of customer service on top of it. It's in the details that customers come back and leave reviews or tell a friend an experience. The ownership of this restaurant clearly values their food costs over their customers experiences and this is most evident with the design of this restaurant. They ask you to write your order on paper first and then turn it in to be made, all in efforts to control staff on food cost and portioning while also separating customers from the staff to avoid the "peer pressure" of adding a higher portioning than policy would state is adequate Then when you compare it to is Scottsdale sister store where it more "Chipotle" buffet run through style, it stands out even more how this location just went completely out of there way to control food costs in a very competitive industry. The design and emphasis to control costs I understand but what is disappointing is that this store couldn't do the right thing when asked about it directly multiple times. However, they will pay for that oversight in the long run if they don't make changes. read more

We drove down from up North because we wanted poke for dinner (to go). Got home and realized they failed to add my PROTEIN (tuna and salmon) to my order, so I basically just got an overpriced salad. SOO disappointed! They even charged me for the extra protein and didn't bother to add it. How do you mess up the order when you are literally checking the box of everything you want on the form?! On top of that, our order took forever! This isn't the first time they messed up my order either. Last time, they didn't add the avocado as requested but they still charged extra. The music is so loud and foul I won't be back! Really?? Does the owner know that foul rap is being played at an ear shattering level? No wonder the place is empty...who would stay there to eat? Asked them to turn it down, and they ignored me. Also wrote SAUCE ON THE SIDE. What did I get....an entire meal drenched with 5 times more sauce than anyone could ever want on their food. Ruined the whole meal, and there is now no way to save the LARGE order I purchased for later as I had planned, as everything is now soggy. Why would you ever put sauce on an order of sushi poke anyway? Why does NO SAUCE mean "oh, I thought you only wanted one sauce on the side"? They did offer to remake it, but that would mean 10 more minutes of "cop killing rap" which was not an option. First thing first is when you walk in you have to use pens that every other customer is using there's only two pens to create your order that is very unsanitary and not COVID-19 conscious!!!!!!!!!!! I ordered a Poké bowl and I ordered spicy salmon with extra shrimp. Upon inspecting my order once I got home I realized that they put uncooked shrimp on my Poké bowl. UN COOKED I tell you!!!! On top of that while making my order the person making my bowl which I believe is the owner was very inconsiderate and was just throwing my food in the bowl like he was in a rush even though I was the only person in the line. This is not my first, second, nor third time having this experience at this restaurant. I keep returning because I'm a pescatarian and I don't eat meat other than seafood. I'm very disappointed and the person making my ball seemed as if he had a attitude because he made a mistake I ask for spicy salmon and he put regular salmon and when I brought that to his attention he got frustrated and threw the spicy salmon into my bowl. read more

This place is amazing! I was greeted by the entire kitchen staff as I walked in the door. Their menus are on the side wall in which you check the boxes next to the item you would like to order. I wanted a roll made slightly different and simply wrote it on the menu and they had no problem accommodating me. The portions are very large for a comparatively cheap price. They are all placed in to go pans as well making it simple to take home leftovers. They use purple rice in their dishes but don't let that turn you away. It doesn't have a strange taste and they have a cool sign about the history of purple rice. Now let's not forget the taste of the food. It was delicious. Me and my girlfriend have been there twice now and tried a variety of dishes and they have all been great. Like I mentioned before the portions are large for a great price as well. My family stopped in for take-out on our way home after checking Yelp reviews in the area. You fill out an order sheet for each person dining and can get a poke bowl exactly the way you want.
