    Vegetariana pizza
    Jill N.

Beautiful restaurant. Very attentive and helpful staff. Plentiful Italian bread, butter, and olive oil presented, no matter what you are ordering. We sat at the bar. We had the vegetariana pizza. Crust was light and airy. Sauce was delicious. Nice cocktail and wine selection. I did not try any of the desserts but they looked amazing. Best to have reservations, even for bar seating. I would return to explore the menu further.

Awesome pasta and salads - all homemade. Also, fantastic pistachio cake and profiteroles. Everything was super fresh. Beautiful touches, authentically Italian- loved it!

Definitely have a reservation. I made the mistake of thinking it wasn't needed on a today evening, but oh was I wrong. We got a high top at the bar which was way too small for dinner for 2, but all we could get within a reasonable amount to ti me (1hr wait). Drinks came out quick and wait staff rotated by often. Free bread with olive oil was a great start. Calamari to begin - crispy on the outside, 2 sauces to dip into. Large portion (no pic). Carbonara - rich, creamy and cheesy. Pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked. I couldn't finish the portion as the richness overcame me. Affogato with hazelnut gelato for dessert. Creamy and delish, perfect pairing to end the meal.

Gnocchi with rose blush sauce and eggplant

We had an excellent lunch here yesterday. Arrived after the lunch rush and was warmly greeted by Stefano.i had the gnocchi with rose blush sauce and eggplant rollatini. It was unbelievably good. The gnocchi was light, the sauce was perfect and the eggplant was flavorful and cooked just right. My friend had the fettuccine with pesto and chicken parm which she raved about as well. Probably the best value for lunch in Scranton, ($15!!) and in a beautiful setting. Cannot wait to return.

Delicious Italian food , pretty restaurant. It's a Scranton gem. Loved my server Julie. She pointed me to the right direction when I asked for her recommendations.

If there is only 1 restaurant you can check out in Scranton, please let it be Picciocchi's!! By far the best Italian restaurant in the city and it was lovely dining at their new location in downtown last night. Their new, upscale location is separated into 2 areas - lunch and dinner. Their dinner area is spacious and great for large groups but I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. Every dish my table ordered was delicious and was exactly what I was looking for. The calamari was tender and the sauces paired great. My vongole with spaghetti tasted fresh and my party also enjoyed the lobster ravioli, cacio e pepe, and spinach and cheese ravioli with bolognese sauce. Our server was very helpful with any questions on which pastas to pair with which sauce. We were stuffed after dinner so we opted for a light vanilla bean gelato and it was the perfect ending to our meal. We can't wait to enjoy countless more dinners here and to try the whole menu!

    Gamberi (with spaghetti, no olives)

I've visited this restaurant three more times since my review below and it is just as amazing as the first time! There is no authentic Italian food anywhere else like Picciocchi's in NEPA!

Fresh pasta! Outstanding service! Great vibe! Enjoyed a great meal. The pasta dudes are all delicious and flavorful. The pesto pizza was dynamite! Meatballs were great, almost as good as grandmas. Great fresh calamari with light batter. Plump delicious clams in white sauce. Lasagna was good. The seafood dishes great. Great ribeyes. So much to choose from, and if you can't decide you can make a dish yourself for $20. The prices were very reasonable. Full bar.

The staff was truly exceptional. Our waitress, Melissa, went above and beyond in every possible way. She was not only incredibly kind and attentive, but she made us feel completely comfortable and cared for all night long. On top of that, Michelle and Diaz were just as amazing--checking in on us before we even had a chance to ask for anything. The level of teamwork and attentiveness was outstanding. Despite the restaurant being packed, we never waited for a thing. We honestly felt like VIPs--like we were the only table in the room. That kind of service is rare and so appreciated. And the cherry on top? We had the best seat in the house, right next to the piano player, Paul--and wow, can that man play! He absolutely lit up the room, graciously took a request from my dad, and even played Happy Birthday for my mom. It was such a special, unforgettable moment. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Sambuca, Melissa, Michelle, Diaz, and Paul for creating such a magical night. This was an experience we'll never forget, and we cannot wait to come back again!

We sat on the mezzanine. Which I felt was set up wrong.. one person sits with there back towards the view. It should have been both people sitting side ways .. oh well .. the service was great .. waitress was nice .. I ordered a gimlet for a drink and had to send it back .. I don't know if they know how to make it.. so I ordered one of the specialty drinks.. it was good . On to the food .. complementary one bite pastry puff . Not very good .. no bread for the table unless you pay $9 for it .. I had the spaghetti Pomodoro Basically spaghetti and meatballs.. $29 very over priced. Small portion and the sauce had no taste and meatballs were a little bit burnt. My wife had the cauliflower steak with a Marsala sauce.. it was good but for $31 bucks it was a small portion. We ordered a salad since it doesn't come with the meal .. a small Caesar salad extra $6 ..good not great Everything is extra.. over all it wasn't a good restaurant .. We won't go back .. It wasn't terrible but for the high end price.. the food and atmosphere were just okay... sorry ..

First the good: the food is amazing! Handmade pastas are out of this world. Entrees top notch…read more Desserts are on point. That olive cake is to die for. The bad: this point has to do with their automatic gratuity system. Nothing to do with the kitchen. I am not sure if anything over a party of 4 gets automatic tip, but it falls apart here: the bottle list. We ordered a bottle of wine. $115. Total cost with tax and gratuity is $143. That's $27 over the cost of the actual bottle. Or a 20% tip roughly. And they probably calculated the tip post tax. Had I known that I would not have ordered a bottle. Now for the arguments of "serving a bottle involves some labor that should be compensated ". Let's do the math. The cheapest bottle they have is 60$. If you were to charge gratuity and tax on this bottle it would be $76.20. That's only $16.30. Not a bad price right? Given the service of opening said bottle and pouring it. BUT... The most expensive bottle they have is $360. If you order that bottle, you will be paying an extra $97.20. That is a huge markup. And if I'm missing something, tell me how the service on a $360 bottle is different than the service on a $60 bottle. Does the server come out with a little song and dance for the more expensive one justifying an additional $97.20 on a $360 bottle of wine? Do you realize how absurd this is? My guess is that the owners don't realize the point I'm trying to make- to give them the benefit of the doubt. That is the best situation. The worst is if the owners know this, and are fleecing the customers. I'd like to believe this is not the case. To sum up: go for the food. Order wine by the glass. DO NOT order bottle service. You will be in for a nasty surprise. The average markup for A bottle of wine is 3x the amount in a restaurant. Retail my bottle was $45. I know this. And if it's $115, that's fair. After all the restaurant makes more money on liquor sales than food. I'm okay with that. But what I find reprehensible is that they charge a service fee on top of that. Which by my calculation is 20%. Therein lies the fallacy. The same 20% charge is applied to the cheapest to most expensive bottle. The effort made to open and serve said bottles are exactly the same! They don't disclose this practice to the patrons. I've run this by multiple people I know. They all say this practice is shady as hell. Enough said, go for the food. Don't get a bottle of wine.
