Im still dreaming about the crab pasta feature i had 2 months ago! Service and ambience was great and prices on point

Good! But I don't think I'd come back. My in laws love it here so I had high hopes. Everything we got was okay.

First time here, just moved to Luzerne and I was so disappointed in Mia Via. I called at 5:49pm on a Wednesday, was told my order (soup and 1 dinner) will be ready in 35 minutes. I came into the restaurant at 6:28pm, they said they are making it now, which to me sounded like "we are starting to make it now" and I wasn't wrong because I didn't get my food until 7:03pm. I stood in the way of the bathroom and front door (which by the way, slams loudly every time someone walks in or out of the building) because there is no where else to stand or sit for 30 minutes. I have bad knees, so this wasn't pleasant for me. I was so annoyed and I told the man who gave me my order that I was frustrated that it took that long and he couldn't care less, said "sorry we're a man down" and then just walked away. Very frustrating and I barely got any noodles with my order. read more

We were lured in by this week's incredible specials. The lobster risotto was the star of the show. Once again the dishes display incredible creativity and attention to craft. The lobster buerre blanc that was drizzled around the perfectly cooked risotto really made the dish. Always a great experience from start to finish. read more

Had a great first visit to Mia Via in Luzerne! I ordered the shrimp Caesar salad--absolutely fantastic. The cosmo was really good too. It was definitely loud and crowded, but I was sitting at the bar, so that probably played a part. Still, the food and drinks made it worth it, and I'll definitely be back! read more

Had dinner there this past weekend. Food overall was great. Stuffed mushrooms were delicious and Brussels sprouts were ok. They definitely needed more of the sauce that was supposed to be on them. My parents both had the lasagna which they said was great. I had the wild mushroom ravioli with short rib. They were amazing. Took home a piece of the lemon berry mascarpone cake and it was fantastic. The waitress nice and the service was spot on. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends. My only negatives were the weak amount of sauce on the Brussels and that they were out of a beer that was on the menu. read more

My mother heard about this place, and we decided to try it. We did not know they took reservations, nor did we even think of asking (100% on us), and they were full. But, we offered a seat at the bar, which we accepted. Now they were really busy, so service was a bit on the slow side, but each interaction with the staff was great. They were super friendly. We had reservations for Saturday night and we were seated right away in a booth upon our arrival. Our server came right over to our table to take our drink order. Hubby got a beer and I ordered The Isabelle, which came in a coupe glass made with Gin, St. Germaine, prosecco & raspberry puree. I definitely tasted the gin! For starters we ordered the Shrimp Scampi Dip, which came with bread that was too toasted and hard to chew. The dip itself tasted ok but was very watery (see video) and was barely warm. We didn't finish it. Sure, we could've sent it back, but unfortunately, I dont always trust doing that. For entrees - hubby ordered the Chicken Philly, which was a breaded chicken smothered in peppers and cheese. It came with homemade mashed potatoes and greens. It had a very overwhelming taste of peppers and he wasn't a fan. He didn't finish that either. I ordered the Crab Imperial Pasta. The pasta was cooked al dente and there was a nice amount of lump crab in it. This was pretty good. Service was good, but we almost felt rushed, even my husband commented about it and he is a pretty laid-back guy. The restraint is rather loud but service was great and the food was very good. I just thought the prices were a bit too high.

Very good food cute place inside but the amount of noise is unbearable on a Saturday night. Please figure out why it is so loud in there. I think Mia Via has the best Italian food in the Wyoming Valley. Unlike some "modern Italian" restaurants they serve up the greatest hits of Italian cooking. The pork chop was done sous vide style so it was moist and tender, not like shoe leather like most pork chops. The meatballs are so good you want to slap your nonna. It gets a bit crowded and noisy but that's to be expected when the food is so good. The servers are very friendly and accommodating and Chris, the co-owner busses tables, brings out food, and does whatever needs to be done. I've been to Italy 12 times so I know what great Italian food is and Mia Via is great. read more

We had a great experience! Our waiter, Kevin, did a fantastic job making sure we received just enough attention but did not feel rushed. Our cocktails were beautifully crafted. The Manhattan was made with a luxardo cherry which is a rarerity in NEPA. The Negroni was on point as well. The generous portion of eggplant parmesan was incredibly delicious. The stuffed porkchop was juicy, full of flavor, and honestly one of the best preparations we have ever had. We sat in the bar area which had a great vibe. The owner even stopped by to chat and check in with us. We will be back! read more

What a lovely find ... a new Italian restaurant with flair located in Luzerne, PA. We decided to give it a try to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday with a party of eight. Eight people selected eight different entrees and each was very well prepared and served by a warm and personable staff. A great evening with great food and great friends. One note. The restaurant was nearly completely full and, with that came what some may consider to be a noisy environment. I felt it gave the place a good vibe but one of our party thought it was a bit too noisy. Give it a try and decide for yourself. I think the next visit may just be the two of us and we'll try dining on the "bar" side of the main room. The bar seems very nice and has a few high top tables as well. read more

Thank the lord above that Mia Via came to Main St. Luzerne, because this place is an absolute KNOCKOUT. It's become a staple in my restaurant rotation because everything on the menu is 5-stars. 100%, I always order their bruschetta as it comes with a creamy burrata that just makes this melt in your mouth. Then you have the pastas which are homemade & absolutely delicious. The bolognese, the Rigatoni Rocco, the clams linguini -- all of them are so delicious that they become comfort meals, even though I love exploring their menu as I continue eating here. Another high note is that they ALWAYS have daily specials that are fantastic. I love a restaurant that offers specials that are well thought out and seasonal, and Mia Via slayyyyss in this department. Secret menu item that CAN'T BE MISSED is their PIZZA!!!!! I can't even explain it because it is so so so different but delicious. It is like a Sicilian but the dough is thick and not too crunchy but crunchy enough, if that makes sense. I wish I took a picture because my words aren't doing it justice. You just need to try it. I will continue to rave about this place to all my friends and continue to bring them here. Chris, the owner, always makes it a point to come out and say hi to the guests as well as I see him helping the staff whenever they need a hand, which is so important. 5 stars all around. Gross. How's this place Italian? I want to be greeted by Monica Beliucci when I walk in not some punky looking teen with faded pink hair and facial piercings. The place absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke and mildew from within five feet of the front door. Felt and looked very dirty. The windows and doors were smudged heavily with fingerprints and grease. Very grimy looking place. Dark dank and smelly. I would not eat here if you paid me even if Lydia Bastianich herself served me the food from her bosom. No thank you. Disgusted. This place needs to be fumigated, repainted, relit, and, start over from scratch. This is not Italian. Shameful. Hard no. Absolutely not. read more

I'm full of discussed! The other 2 items were fine, but this was absolutely unacceptable! This couldve been a very bad situation. Started out with a 730 pm reservation for a birthday dinner... that was the earliest they had that night. It is Very noisy (very) like a loud bar. 850 pm still no food. Ordered a meatball appetizer (2 for $10) and a cup of soup. Both were good. We had to keep asking for bread refills, especially since the food was so slow coming out. The dinner salad was... okay. The waitress was pretty attentive and apologetic, she kept saying "our food was almost ready..." about 4 times. Drinks were not strong. Sauce was very good. But Probably won't be back only due to the wait for slightly above average food. read more

Oh my God! The food is so good. Everything I ate was delicious. I had the crab in a cream sauce with pasta & a side of sautéed spinach. So good. A little rich but I ate every morsel. The wine selection is good with some unusual varieties. I don't want to say rare, just not the usual list you find in a lot of restaurants. I am Celiac and called ahead and asked the server if they had gluten free option. I was assured they do. I ordered a pasta dish and found gluten pasta in my bowl. The resolution was to offer me something else which I refused based on lack of confidence with the kitchen staffs knowledge of gluten free needs. They then proceeded to tell me the owner and chef said it was not possible to have gluten pasta in my bowl. I guess they are saying I planted it there. We had reservations for 8 and waited 2 hours after being seated for our food. One of the entrees was incorrect and sent back. The appetizers were good but the rest was not great. Due to having over 6 in our party they would not do separate checks and a 20% gratuity was automatically added. The noise level also makes it very difficult to have a conversation. Perfect dining experience. We ordered every appetizer and all were excellent, especially the angry clams. The pork chop special(alla sous vide) with a bourbon peach sauce was the best ever! Not a white tablecloth restaurant but extremely good Italian food. I had osso bucco with a side of rigatoni in bolognese Huge portion of well prepared meat over a bed of very good mashed potatoes. My friend had a huge pork chop which he said was prepared to his taste with no sauces to hide its rich flavor. Dessert was a nice vanilla cannoli and a cream puff made by Nona. She actually came out of the kitchen to see if we enjoyed it. Better than excellent service and reasonable prices for the portions and quality. read more

This restaurant is an absolute gem, and IMHO, the best Italian food in the Wyoming Valley. The staff are all fantastic, as is their service and the ambiance. I can honestly say that I've never had anything less than a stellar meal and experience here, with now well over 40 plus of them. P.S. I highly recommend the Soul Scallops, Braised shortrib Wellington, and Nonnas Meatballs appetizer, as well as their Fra Diavolo, Angry Drunken Fisherman, Sicilian Surf & Turf, as well as all of their Steaks and Chops for your entrée. read more

My family and I have been back several times and each time the food was fantastic. We tend to get multiple dishes and then pass them around so we take a little of each dish. We had several appetizers, which were all excellent. The pizza is so good, but you have to special order that and you need to do it on the earlier side on busy days. The staff has been friendly. In reading through some of the other reviews, I get that for some, atmosphere is part of their consideration. That being said, I have an issue with people who make negative, condescending remarks about people who are out there trying to make a dollar. Reviews like this are sophomoric at best and it is sad that someone would take a shot at an employee, especially a minor. If their behavior is terrible and they were rude, fine, have at it. Yet, the only thing that the reviewer brought up was the color of the person's hair and facial piercings. And no, I don't know the employee, but as a person who has 3 kids that are out their working hard, I find this upsetting. If you are wondering what I am alluding to, I am specifically referring to the review on 6/11/24 by "Dee" from "San Francisco" who said that the place did not appear to be Italian without trying one single appetizer or entree, but complained about how the place looked. I actually doubt the legitimacy of the review for several reasons, especially due to a childish remark about a teenager. I personally really like the place, and when I am in the area, I fully intend to eat there again! read more

Went there for the first time tonight with our Daughter who came up from Philly for a visit. I had the Angry Drunken Fisherman, my wife had the Pan Seared Tuna, and our Daughter had the Angry Clams and a salad. The food was fantastic as was the service. Our server, Jessica, is the best! She was very pleasant and answered every question we had concerning drinks or items on the menu. The Cesar Salad that I had was probably the best I've tasted.
