I'm really disappointed with my recent order from The Restaurant named Luca, that came highly rated on DoorDash. I had such high hopes for the chicken marsala, especially given its stellar reviews. Let's start with the house salad, which was made exactly to my specifications. I asked for no onion and no tomato, and they happily accommodated me. The dressing, though served in a tiny dipping cup, was absolutely delicious. I wish there had been a bit more, but I didn't request extra, so I can't fault them there. Now, onto the main dish: the Chicken Marsala. It arrived piping hot and securely wrapped in shrink wrap, which was a nice touch to keep it warm. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. When I opened it, I found only two and a half small chicken tenders that seemed barely dipped in any kind of flour or seasoning. It looked like they had been hastily cooked in a frying pan without any browning (Maillard Effect/Reaction) , and there was minimal breading/flouring at all and upon closer inspection, it seemed like the chicken was just coated with mashed potatoes that came with it rather than a proper egg and flour mixture. While I acknowledge it was freshly made, it felt rushed. The chicken and mushrooms were lacking any flavor from the marsala sauce, which clearly hadn't been cooked long enough to absorb any of the sauce's supposed rich taste. Speaking of the sauce, it was disappointing there was a noticeable amount of oil separating from the broth, forming clumps in a sea of oil & grease, reminiscent of survivors clinging to debris after The Titanic's sinking! The sauce lacked any seasoning, and I could barely detect the signature marsala wine flavor that should be present in this dish. I understand that many places may simplify their recipes nowadays, but this was just bland. There was no salt, pepper, or any other seasonings to enhance the dish. When I attempted to contact the restaurant for feedback, I found out they were closed for orders, which led me to believe my meal was one of the last they prepared for the evening. It seemed like the chef was in a hurry to finish up for the night, resulting in a haphazard meal that lacked care that Lucca was allegedly known for! Comparing my dish to the mouthwatering images on their website, it's clear there's a significant difference. My chicken marsala was not the dark brown, rich, well seasoned and flavorful thick Marsala Sauce/gravy I expected (from their menu pictures and other restaurants) but instead, it was oily and devoid of flavor. Even the mushrooms, though fresh, tasted like they had just been rinsed off and sliced without any seasoning or browned (Maillard Effect/Reaction) in its preparation. Ultimately, isn't the point of ordering Chicken Marsala to enjoy its savory, delicious sauce that enhances the chicken and mushrooms? Right now, I have to say that I've had better chicken marsala from a local grocery store's hot bar, and at a much lower price. It's a shame my experience didn't match the restaurant's reputation. Chicken Marsala not only can benefit from the Maillard Effect, but it is entirely DEPENDENT on it to build its signature flavor profile. The browning of the chicken cutlets and the mushrooms creates deep, savory compounds, which unfortunately my dish was severely lacking! read more

I did not expect much going into it, and they delivered even less. We had a reservation. They put us at two different tables. When we spoke to them, they said it was a breakfast and lunch menu at 11 o'clock. Turns out it was just a breakfast menu until 1 PM, that was pretty poor. Since I prefer not to do breakfast that late in the day, I decided to just get a side of Calabrase potatoes. Ice cold, two pieces of pepper no onions. It's like they just pulled pre-grilled from the night before potatoes out of the fridge and threw in two little pieces of pepper. They rushed us along. then the scam of all scams. 2.95 + tax for every person sitting at the table even if you're not drinking coffee. they called it a coffee charge. I would give a zero stars if possible. read more

My friend had her bachelorette party here. This place is huge! She was put up in a really nice part of the restaurant that was off to the side and allowed us to have a kind of privacy. While setting up the staff was very nice and very helpful. The food....the food was so good. Pretty sure everyone got seconds and some even took leftovers. My favorite was definitely the cheesy risotto. And their garlic roll was great. read more

BYOB This was my first time at this restaurant. I was thoroughly impressed.Shame on me, I didn't do my homework ahead of time to find out it was BYOB. There is a winery in the same complex called "Talerico's Tropical Wines" but they were closed. The four of us were greeted and seated quickly. We offered a complimentary glass of white, red, or rose' wine along with a small bowl of pasta, bread and shrimp. It was almost a meal before the meal. We all ordered a different entree between chicken & spinach risotto hold the spinach, along with classics such as shrimp scampi and chicken parm. My dinner companions were quiet will they tucked into their own dishes. We sampled each other's dishes and to me there wasn't a bad one out of the bunch.  To me, the star of the table was my drunken gnocchi with chicken and shrimp. The pillow soft gnocchi was expertly sauces and practically melted in my mouth. There was a fair amount of chicken and shrimp. Make sure you grab a piece of the bread to mop up all the sauce left on your plate. We didn't leave any room for dessert so I can't discuss them.  The service was top notch, she added nice touches to her service such as: Our waitress brought us a carafe of raspberry iced tea instead of making us wait to get refills. She brought us extra napkins and takeout containers without being asked. And, if we wanted dessert before presenting our check. This restaurant is terrible. We came in last week on Sunday and the hostess wouldn't even seat us. She made one of the busy waitresses stop what they're doing to bring us to our table. After we got our drinks and the waitress took our order, the food took 30 minutes just for some eggs and bacon. My eggs didn't even come out the way i wanted. I asked for my eggs to be over easy and they came out almost hard. I also asked for calabrase potato's and it was extremely cold and the sauce was runny and in my eggs. read more

I had my daughter's baby shower there. It was a nightmare.They didn't have my reservation for that day; they said they called me several times and left several messages but I didn't get back to them. TORI only called one time, and I did speak to her with all my information for the party. They set up tables for me and one of the tables fell down because someone hadn't set it up right and smashed my special ordered cupcakes, so she had to call another bakery to get replacements. My meal was supposed to be roast beef and they gave me turkey instead. I also ordered pasta with vodka sauce but they gave me regular sauce. When the bill came we ask for a discount for all the aggravation but she refused. So no, I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

This is my second time here since they remodeled. I love what they did with the interior design- clean, modern but not cold. The dinner of chicken Marsala was tender and flavorful and sooo filling. Tried this restaurant today, and have to say, I will be back. The prices were excellent, and the portions were not skimped. The waitstaff was friendly, present and attentive. My only cons were that the food coming out was on the slow side, however when it did come out it was piping hot, so it was not sitting there. Also, they have the option of Cabrese, which we both ordered, but we got potatoes with peppers. It could be that we misunderstood the offer, but I have to say that the potatoes were absolutely delicious. Will def be back. read more

One of my friends took me to Luca for breakfast on a Tuesday morning. We arrived around 7:30am. There was only a few people inside. We were sat promptly. The waitress was very nice. I started with a hot tea. My friend had a coffee. I ended up ordering a bacon egg and cheese wrap. You have a choice of homefries or hash browns. I got hashbrowns. The wrap was good. No complaints. The food was nice and hot when it came out to us. This was my first time coming here. I would come back for the breakfast. I have heard Luca is the spot to come for breakfast. Overall. For breakfast. I would come back to Luca. The prices are reasonable. Food was good. Service was nice. It's in a small town so everyone knows everyone here. Try it out read more

Worst, most unprofessional place I have ever been to. When my grandfather passed away, family went to inquire and book a room for the bereavement brunch. He was told no problem, no deposit required just call later to pick the menu. We were called the night before my grandpa's funeral to be informed that they actually rented this room to someone else. They offered no solutions for us, and no suggestions as to other restaurants to hold the bereavement. Not to mention, their restaurant is absolutely filthy and covered in dust. The service was quick and friendly, and my omelette was pretty tasty as well. That's where the positive comments end. The potatoes were cut so large that even though I asked for them crispy, the centers were still hard as rocks. The toast was also soggy and barely toasted . Totally disgusted, I've been eating at this place for years and come here often bringing my whole family after funerals ect. I ordered corn beef hash and they served me a portion that was bad that made my stomach turn instantly and they screwed up my wife's order also. When I told the waiter that the hash was bad and it smelled they only took that off the bill. I was terribly sick to my stomach the rest of the day and the next morning.. Even though this place is close to my house and close to the turnpike that I work on I will never come here again. read more

I've been to Lucca's once before a few years ago for a family outing. My family needed a place for a luncheon following a funeral. I called and Tori responded immediately, offered her condolences, and went through what they can offer. Compounded with the funeral, it occurred during Easter week. It could not have gone any smoother! Tori asked a few important questions, send an email with menu options, and answered follow-up questions completely. When we arrived, all was set up and ready to go. The staff and management could not have been more professional. There were not as many people as I thought, and Tori and staff were ready with a plan. The food was delicious, the staff was patient with us, and leftovers were packed and bagged. I could not thank them enough. I highly recommend Lucca's for any get together. If the professionalism and food are any indication, the restaurant is also a must. Thanks again to all who assisted us. read more

I've had everything from breakfast to dinner here and didn't enjoy any of them. The breakfast brought undercooked home fries, the lunch was a poor excuse for a turkey club and fries, and the dinner was a weird tasting plate of beef ravioli which was so bad I didn't eat them and the waitress actually took them off the bill. Also, had a cup of soup with chunks of huge chunks of vegetables and a strange taste. Bad all around. After having tried each meal and I have officially written this place off. read more

I will say probably the most well rounded restaurant in the area. The specialities are outstanding in every way but I will say one of the best Prime Rib and beer battered fish in the area. Both Tori and Lenny go out of their way to please the customer . Whether it be individual dining or an entire family they offer the most impeccable service!! I have been there many times and enjoyed everything. This time the waitress said soup or salad. My wife asked what kind of soup? The waitress said chicken pastina or clam chowder. She chose the clam chowder. When the bill came, there was a $1 up-charge for the clam chowder. We were never informed. I told the owner but she wasn't fazed by how I was disappointed. It was only a dollar but we should have been informed. Also, there is no more complimentary wine. After leaving, I noticed, on the bill, that I was surcharged for using a credit card, which was never done on previous visits. I think whenever there is an extra charge I should be told first. I went there today (Thursday) to get the lobster tail dinner I saw advertised. I was told it was only on Wednesday and Friday after 4:00. Nowhere in the ad was that noted. So I ordered a bowl of French onion soup which was very good. Then I waited quite a long time for the rest of my order which was a mushroom swiss burger. It finally came and was of a good size, but had very little cheese on it, and the mushrooms were very dry. Not once was I asked whether I was satisfied with my meal or if I wanted a refill of my soda, which cost $2.50 for a very small glass. I was not satisfied and will not return. Tonight was our first time having dinner at Lucca's and we were very pleased. We both had the Lucca lobster special, which was served with a shrimp appetizer, salad or soup, 9-10 oz lobster, potato, choice of vegetable, and complimentary glass of wine for $16.95. Besides the price being outrageously fair, the food was delicious as well! When we arrived they seated us immediately and the waitress was so nice and attentive. My family had a "buffet style" dinner there yesterday after a funeral. There were 56 people attending. They charged us for 70 people. When we called about it, they said they put out 70 plates at the buffet table and since they were all used, that's what they charged for. So apparently you're not allowed to get seconds at a Buffet style dinner after the waitress takes your plate. Which was quite quickly I should mention. The food was put out in very small quantities and they took forever to replenish it. Everyone had to ask for drinks like 3 times and the food was nothing to brag about. They are very uncoordinated and slow. I would not recommend this place o anyone for any reason. Way to take advantage of people in an already stressful situation. read more
