Had dinner last night. Reservation was for 6.30 pm 2 people. Told someone was at our table and we would have to wait. Another waitress took us to a table which, for 2 people, was very tight seating as I had to move my chair out from the wall in order to sit. My husband was pressed right against the table which made it very difficult to enjoy what was a delicious meal. Service, Food, drinks all excellent but I believe with their new remodel they may be trying to put in as many tables as possible. My husband and I are not large people and when another party was seated behind us, the chairs were banging next to each other. The place otherwise is very nice. This meal made our anniversary complete! We sat at the bar, as is our norm. We had stuffed mushrooms (3 large ones with SO much crabmeat!), salad with fresh lettuce etc and the best dressing, and a drink to start. The bartender is amazing/ so personable and makes such a great drink personalized just as we asked. Our entrees were a 10 oz filet and sole crab and scallop with a basil cream sauce. Each was perfection!! The meat was done perfectly and the sauce on the fish was so good I could drank it in!! We each got the twice baked potatoes and green beans- dinner perfectly! For dessert, we got a mini lemon meringue pie and a berry cake. I also got decaf coffee and they made it fresh just for me. My husband thinks this is the best meal we've had in a long time-- all for $135 (without tip). The place is busy but the service is still attentive and professional. It's a small, warm, friendly family restaurant. The only reason I didn't give it a five is that it took some time before we got our food. We made a reservation, so we were seated relatively quickly. I ordered the Haddock fish, broiled with a lump of crab meat on top, with a side order of twice-baked potatoes and string beans. I must say it was very delicious. My husband had the chicken marsala, baked potatoes, and string beans, which he said was also delicious. Our waitress was pleasant and warm and checked to see if we needed anything during our meal. While out of town for work, I visited this restaurant. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and sat at the bar. Matt was my bartender, and he was great! I started with the lemon drop martini, and it was delicious. I then got the Pinot nior, and it was good. For my meal, I went with the special Chilean Sea Bass. When it came out, it looked delicious. She didn't know what was in the Bolognese sauce. She brought out the steak special incorrect. Visited Anthony's for a birthday dinner as a party of 8. We were promptly seated in the dining room and greeted by our server who took our drink order. The bartender Matt is likely the best bartender I have ever experienced. My espresso martini was phenomenal! We ordered the Seafood fra Diavolo, chicken, 9 oz filet mignon, stuffed haddock and everything was served hot and well seasoned. The only negative comment is the noise level inside the dining room. I had dinner on Saturday evening. Usually a good experience. I ordered the Lasagna ( special), and my companion ordered the Crab & Scallops in basil cream sauce. The server offered a potato or pasta as a side. He ordered the side of pasta with Alfredo sauce. Blue cheese dressing with crumbles, I asked for extra dressing for my salad. Portions were good meals were fine although the lasagna was slightly bland. Got the check and was surprised to see a $1.00 charge for the extra dressing, $2.00 for the blue cheese crumbles, and a $6.95 charge for the Alfredo . I'm not cheap by any means but this added $10.00 to the bill. The server should have advised there would be up charges. I dine out every Saturday all over the valley and this is the first time I've experienced this. Needless to say I doubt I'll return. read more

Fist at and foremost let me say I had very high expectations for this place given the glowing reviews I see on here. Unfortunately the dinner I had this evening was bland and tasteless. The prices are way overpriced $12.50 for two overcooked stuffed mushrooms. $15.00 for steamed clams that half the clams were empty. The "spicy" red sauce had no seasoning and was bland. Waited 35 minutes to get a drink and was served bread with no butter or oil? And the noise level in the establishment is deafening. read more

I finally stopped in Anthonys in Old Forge having heard about this restaurant in the past year from a few buddies The restaurant is located on S Main St right in the downtown area. The place was not too crowded and we were seated immediately in the main dining area towards the rear of the building. Older decor was evident. We were greeted by our server, Jenn. She was very nice and well-paced in her services. She never rushed me & my lady friend. A chef's sample appetizer came on the table, a twisted pasta, oiled w/broccoli pieces & garlic. Good tasting. I ordered stuff mushrooms (3) w/lemon, wine butter sauce as an appy. Excellent. I wanted chicken so I picked Chicken Calabrese w/hot & sweet peppers on sliced fried potato chips. The amt of potatoes and peppers "smothered " the 3 and a half pieces of chicken. You can't see the chicken, see pic. The veggie side, squash was just ok. I guess I picked the wrong choice. My friend's meal was better than mine. At least she liked hers. Again the veggies and the smashed potatoes were left untouched. She really enjoyed her Southern Comfort cocktail. She said her soup was good. The portions were large though. Our server had a very good sense of humor since I queried her about the specials menu. THEY HAD NO PRICES. Why???
