Large menu selection to choose from especially for what one typically can expect for a smaller size restaurant like Chefs Corner. I especially liked that they actually seemed to cook their meals per order (rather than reheating frozen food!). It took a bit of time to get my food..but the food tasted fresh and good! The portion is huge and the price may be a little high..but you get a lot of food...definitely enough to take some home if you aren't a big eater. read more

Welcome to Pittston everyone, today I am at Chef's Corner. Walking into this establishment I was greeted very professional, I felt welcomed. Now today I am starting out with a cup of potato leek soup which was very hot, filled with chunks of potatoes, warmed me up on a cold day. Nice and creamy. My beef and cheddar melt, sliced roast beef, melted cheddar cheese, toasted bun. Now I got a side of fried instead of the chips. You also get a pickle. Now this was very messy and at the same time very delicious. I believe they are open 7 days a week but check their site or their social media page. But definitely check them out. My dad stopped here for lunch while passing by on the road. I found this really quick on the map search and chose it mostly because the menu looked very agreeable and the reviews seemed generally positive, and wasn't expecting it to be such a gem for food! My Baja Shrimp Wrap was delicious and packed with crispy shrimp. I loved the tangy boom sauce. At $11, this was a great value for the size and amount of shrimp in the wrap. Fries or chips are included, but I asked if I could sub one of the other sides and they were able to give my broccoli at a small upcharge. Broccoli were cooked well. My dad got the Big John and also really enjoyed it. When we ordered, I saw the desserts in the case and thought they looked good, so I also got a slice of Red Velvet Cake and had a taste of my dad's Cheesecake. Both were as good as they looked. The red velvet had a nice spongy texture and bright taste, and the cheesecake was super creamy. Both were pretty sweet - I think any more would've been too much for my taste, but as it was, I liked them. When dining in, you can seat yourself, order at the counter and they'll bring the food to you. The seating area has sort of a small-town diner aesthetic, but is clean and neatly laid-out. Overall, this place was pretty delish. I did come based on the Yelp rating and reviews. I had 'The Baton' which was overall pretty tasty. It was piled high with turkey, real bacon (not the microwave stuff) and a yummy chipotle ranch. The only thing I disliked about it was the turkey had a prepackaged taste/feel to it. I like my meat cut on sight for those types of sandwiches. The chips were too well done for my liking. I would definitely give them another chance, trying something else in the menu. read more

this place doesn't event deserve a star!!! if you want to be raped financially. then this is the place for you. paid $16 for a cold turkey cheese and bacon sandwich, then they charged me three extra dollars for fries and wanted to charge me two dollars for the tiniest little ramekin of honey mustard.they make you order your own food. so it's not like you're sitting down at a nice restaurant and paying $20 for a cold turkey home go and cheese sandwich with french fries... they have no option for a children's menu at all so we had to pay $19 for our six-year-old son to have a cheeseburger with french fries... and they gave us no silverware, and to pay that much for one meal and not even be offered a napkin. honestly, they should be ashamed of themselves. Chef's corner has a beautiful selection on their menu. I was impressed to read all the choices.. I knew going in they were on the pricey side.. My wife ordered the chicken wrap with cilantro, lime..etc.. I think it was on their special board. She said it was one of the best wraps she ever had! I couldn't decide what I wanted until I saw my weakness.. I saw "Meatball Sub" and my mind was instantly made up! I asked for American cheese instead of mozzarella. I love how American cheese usually melts and mixes in with the sauce. My sandwich looked delicious! I'm a meatball nut! I have very strong opinions on meatball subs. The bun which I believed was advertised as Bakery Delight was very tasty, as are all the baked goods from Bakery Delight.. However, I didn't care for the meatballs or the sauce on my hoagie.. The meatballs were generous in size, but they were very coarse in texture and more on the "meaty" side. I like when a meatball has the perfect ratio of breadcrumbs to meat.. I don't like them mushy and falling apart, nor do I like round hamburgers. These could have used more breadcrumbs/bread/panko...etc. I'm not sure why they were so coarse in texture? Maybe they ground their own beef? I prefer a meatball that is softer in texture while still retaining its juiciness. Their sauce was a bit too strong for me. I like more of what the Italians call a "gravy" for my meatball sub. Their sauce was paste like and thick.. It was too bold in flavor for me. I tasted the sauce all night after eating it. The staff was very friendly! The place looked spotless! I just made a bad menu choice. Please don't take this as a bad review. I should have asked what was the most popular item on the menu and ordered that. I will go back and try something else. I recommend you give it a try as well.. read more

Chef's Corner has very good food. Little bit on the pricey side, but it is worth it, so I thought. What turned me off was I walked in there to get my pickup, and there was one of the workers in there putting lettuce on tacos using her bare hands. When I loudly complained about it, she immediately went and put gloves on. Her excuse was, "I didn't know I wasn't wearing gloves." Seriously! I told him to cancel my order. I am sorry but how do I know that the lettuce on my burger wasn't touched by her hands. Maybe it WAS a mistake, and she didn't realize it, but you're working with food raw food, you have to be more cognizant and make sure that your workers have a gloves on. With everything that's going on in today's society and today's world, especially with covid, you have to be more mindful with handling food. That is why I gave it a three-star rating. And I think I'm being a little generous on that. read more

This is a surprisingly nice find when we were in town for a meeting and needed a close place got dinner. I had sweet potato fries which were awesome, crab cake which was fairly dry I would not suggest but the soup of the day which was cream based scallops, crab and mussels (I think) was really tasty and my colleague had the Cobb salad and onion soup although she was not thrilled with the soup as it was thicker consistency than what she was expecting and just not to her liking. Note restaurant is byob for those who want a cocktail (was not an issue for us). Staff very attentive and we were there on a Monday night so not busy as it was also later in the evening. Their desserts looked scrumptious but did not have room. Would definitely try again. read more

Ordered the Dragon Phoenix and a Perrier at 2pm. When the server who rang me up brings my plate, I couldn't tell what was underneath it all. So I asked her if that was rice. She said with an attitude that it was rice. I asked her for empty plate and she rolled her eyes then walked away. After digging through the mess, I find it drowned in sauce making the rice inedible, a small portion of broccoli and the shrimp was over cooked. Surprise! Surprise! I was on a business trip and was recommended to try the food here. I saw it was close to the hotel so I thought it was worth trying. I call the order in and drive over to pick my food up. My order delayed so the Chef said "offer a potato soup to the gentleman that's waiting". A lady brings the soup over and I ask how much is it. She said for nothing. It was on the house for waiting.... I thought it was nice from them to offer me the soup, but then I tried the soup... the actually did me a favor!! In a cold day and soup tasting as perfect as that soup did... it was amazing! Then my Frankie was ready (grilled chicken sandwich). I get to the hotel and they really took care of me. I got the sandwich, more soup and chicken fingers. This is REAL customer service and the flavors amazing... They not only earned a customer, but now they have a fan. I heard about this place from family and decided to check it out on my way home from work. I had driven by many times but not realized because it's inside of a gas station and doesn't really stand out if you aren't looking. It's also purely takeout since it's in the gas station, though the food isn't premade and sitting waiting. This is not gas station food at all though. The food is nothing like Sheetz or Turkey Hill- this is restaurant quality. The prices are a little higher than what you'd expect considering it's purely takeout and inside a gas station, but the prices aren't unreasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Before going I knew they had some interesting daily specials, but had no clue they actually had a pretty big regular menu too. I've been here about three times now and had a mix of specials and regular items. Everything I've tried so far has been good- wings, sandwiches, and appetizers along with the desserts. It's not far from Bobby O's restaurant right down the street which I also pass on my drive home from work, and while I do like Bobby O's I definitely prefer the food from Chef's Corner and they have a fairly similar sized menu with fairly similar pricing even though the menus aren't the same. This place will now be a regular for me to stop and pick up dinner on the way home. read more

I ordered several items from the menu & everything was excellent. I usually don't write reviews but the food was that good I feel the need too. I got general Tao chicken and it was Delicious, the portion was large and I couldn't finish it all at once. The rice was perfect along with the taste. The potstickers were perfectly cooked and had a great flavor. They had a special that day which was a egg roll containing A la vodka pasta, chicken and broccoli. The egg roll wrap was perfectly cooked and homemade (definitely not like the ones you get a Chinese Resturant). It was a nice take on a egg roll. I didn't try the dinners because they only start serving at 3 pm but the dinners where very fairly priced. They people working there are very friendly and I highly recommend trying this place out. read more
