I ordered the pineapple fried rice and it came out pink and very mushy. When I asked about it, I was told it was made with KETCHUP! I tried a few bites but I couldn't eat it. The super nice waitress kindly suggested a small side of plain fried rice, That was also mushy and I was also charged for. I asked and $3 was taken off... I understand every restaurant has its own recipe, but fried rice is not an expensive dish to make, nor is it difficult to make. So the owner was basically barking at me that the food had nothing wrong and lots of people eat it. I got her point that she was Hell bent on being paid for her Rice. So I stopped her and said, Please stop I'll pay for it. I'm not discussing it. I paid, gave the waitress a tip on the in house food and left. I wouldn't put this on against a small business but as I am home gagging and thinking about the owner defending her ketchup filled mushy rice loudly in the restaurant I have to say something. read more

First time was great. Second time wasn't great. It was our hibachi dinners. Their sauce is sweet and odd tasting compared to traditional teriyaki hibachi. It's a nice place. After our first amazing sushi experience at Akita, this was very disappointing. We should have known based off the empty restaurant to begin with. This spot is also byob though which was nice. However, our service was pretty bad considering we had to keep re-asking for things. We got the avocado king to start. This was a whole bunch of saucy and gooeyness- I wasn't a fan. We also got a rainbow roll, spring time roll, sashimi regular, and a dragon roll. All the rolls were not that great- there was way too much rice. The fish itself tasted really bad too. The quality was overall just not fresh at all. I even felt the need to say something to the restaurant, as maybe the fish had gone bad. We love Fuji! We're so lucky to have such a great place deliver to our home. It's always the same guy delivering, who is also the owner. He's super friendly and always crazy fast with the delivery time. We normally order different vegetarian rolls, side of sushi rice and side of regular white rice, sides of veggies and a side of steak. The food always still nice and hot when it arrives. Everything is fresh and tasty. The inside of their restaurant is very modern. It definitely feels like you've left NEPA when you're in there. First glance walking into the building. Seems clean but no atmosphere. Back part of restaurant filled with boxes. The reasturant itself was cold, did not take my coat off. I ordered the Steak and Shrimp Hibachi. Salad very good, miso soup good and hot. Dinner on the other hand was served and it was cold. Ordered my steak medium rare it was over cooked and welldone. These boxes come as a complete meal: served with miso soup, salad with ginger dressing, shrimp shumai, white rice, grilled veggies, a California roll, and your choice of protein. We chose scallops & shrimp! Yummy! (Bentoboxes are served during their lunch special times: 11-3 Tuesday-Saturday) We also enjoyed the sushi bar appetizer given to us while dining at Fuji shown on the white plate below. First time order today for pick up. They got the order wrong. I order 2 pieces White tuna sushi and got sashimi?? There was less than 1/2 a shrimp in my shrimp and avocado roll and the spicy yellowtail road was uninspired. Just the fish with spicy mayo.. No scallion or texture. I will say the place looked clean, man was very nice and the sushi rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Not sure what the $.50 charge was on the bill as it was pick up and regretting the 15% tip after getting the sashimi instead of the sushi I ordered. I'll try them again and eat in. When you order take out, you don't know it's wrong until you get home. At least when you eat in, you can let them know there was a mistake and get it right. Fuji advertises as a BYOB restaurant- this is false information. Made a reservation for my birthday on 5/14/19 at 630 for a party of 6. Upon sitting we were informed that as of January 2019- they are NO LONGER a BYOB restaurant. I pulled up their website to show the server where is states "BYOB", and she continually stated that they had "taken down the signs in the restaurant". Both Fuji's business website as well as their YELP Bio advertise this restaurant as a BYOB. This is a major fail on behalf of management, and was an incredibly disappointing situation. read more

The salad dressing tasted a bit weird from the usual ginger dressing you get at other places, but the miso soup was good. The sushi was perfect. It was fresh and melts in your mouth. It's an interesting restaurant. The food was good, but not consistent with the menu. For example, when ordering hibachi, the menu stated that dinners came with fried rice and (I believe) miso soup. However, I had to ask for miso soup over broth and I'm assuming order fried rice, because my meal came with no such side. The salad was quite tasty, probably the best of the "hibachi" salads in Luzerne County. But who goes for Hibachi food for the salad, right? The sushi was really good. The preparation was great. The flavors were amazing. It was nothing short of awesome. The hibachi flavor was good, but the sauces weren't the best and it's all cooked in the kitchen. Half the fun of a Japanese steakhouse is the show. If you're local and don't want to fight mall or back mountain traffic, I would highly recommend them for sushi. For hibachi, I'd deal with the traffic and go to Asaki in Dallas. My true rating would be a 3.5 stars, so I'll be nice and round up because they were such a nice staff and I really like supporting local businesses. Edit: I've been back several times since. The hibachi thing never happened again. Every time since, I got fried rice and miso was always there. The yellow dragon roll is amazing. I updated my stars because they've earned it.
