This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food here is so well done and delicious and it's not overpriced. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is so nice and accommodating. I have recommended this place to a lot of people in the area! read more

Atami is a very nice contempary/modern looking restaurant in the prototypical grays and browns. Comparing to other sushi restaurants it is a tiny bit more upscale than the competition. Dare I say it reflects the neighborhood it's in. The wait staff was very friendly and nice. No issues at all. Went for lunch with the mrs. and had the Atami roll with another roll the name escapes me. That one in particular was shrimp tempura, avocado, rice, some other things, topped with tamago (egg). The Atami roll was fantastic, both rolls were. Although, I incidentally ordered a cooked one, but it's great to have options for people that don't like raw. Wifey had a sweet potato roll which is pretty standard since she doesn't eat raw fish. The rolls overall were smaller in size and more pure in delivery. If you compare to Akita in Montage their rolls are way larger with more sauce. So, it doesn't feel like there's overlap here. Price is good too, not too high but not cheap either. I will definitely come back. read more

Everything was delicious and fresh. From the water, yes the water tastes good and if you know me. I am picky about my water. Then I had the miso soup perfect warm and delicious. I tried the avocado salad. That is now on my list of best salads ever! I craving it for real!! Then I had the king tut roll. Yummy yum yum. Yes not a single compliant. Oh and then they surprised my coworker and I with a banana dessert that was so cute and yummy too. It was just enough and not too much. The customer service was very welcoming and if it didn't live literally on the opposite end of the country I would make this a regular stop for me!! Yet if I find myself in that part of Pennsylvania ever again I will be back!! If you live near here please stop by. You will not be disappointed!! read more

Wholesome and delicious food that you can taste the love they infuse into their food. Friendly and great service!

The place was empty when we came on Monday (Memorial Day), so we got seated right away. We ordered the lava roll, Philadelphia roll and a deep fried roll. The portions were huge! We barely finished it between 2 people. They also gave us edamame on the house. We will probably come back to try their other rolls. read more

Atami Sushi - Sushi Bars Near Me - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania

Went here with my friends and we had a great time! We were greeted kindly and seated quickly when we came in. The service was great, very efficient. We each ordered something a little different, but all of the food was delicious. We recommend the crab rangoon, shrimp tempura sushi roll, and the hibachi chicken. The servers went out of their way to make sure we were doing well the entire time we were there. We will definitely be coming back! read more

The sushi was really tasty and the food felt super fresh! Everything was delicious -- I'll definitely be coming back.

My friends and I came to Atami for lunch today and had the best sushi. Maggie is the nicest lady ever and made sure we were happy and satisfied with everything we ordered. The lunch specials are a great deal and the hibachi is amazing! We finished our meal with some Mochi! There was no corking fee for bringing your own wine which was great! One of our friends has a shell fish and gluten allergy so the staff made sure they separated our sushi boat to make sure there was no cross contamination. We will definitely be making this a weekly thing! read more

everything here is amazing: food, service, staff. We come every week and are always amazed about how wonderful everything is.

I love how quiet this place is. Probably some of best Japanese and absolutely excellent fresh sushi in the area. Portions are better than all the other Japanese restaurants around here. Most of them skimp on portion. Very friendly people too. Highly recommended! read more

Things to note- -no booze so bring your own. - the waitstaff hate their job/are being held against their will -Miso soup=ass -the waitstaff wclean up around you while you eat which is only unnerving if you go out to dinner for a relatively relaxing experience. -order a ginger ale and have it "refilled" with water. read more

Have been there a couple times and it is normally good. But during our last visit, my friend got severe food poisoning. Not fun. Probably will not go back unfortunately. read more

Salmon teriyaki...meh. the salmon alone would have been better without the teriyaki sauce. The sauce was slimy/gooey and was too thick. Kids ordered steak and shrimp hibachi dinners: fried rice were both overly seasoned with soy sauce causing the rice to be completely dark in color so much that it was not edible. Miso soup was luke warm; wish it was hot. Husband enjoyed the tempura dish. The salad that you can get with your meal was also good. Fresh, cold and the ginger dressing was refreshing. Pork gyoza was good. Dad liked the sushi and spicy tuna roll that came with his lunch special meal. We did appreciate the complimentary edamame that they gave us on the house during our visit. It was salted nicely and boiled correctly and was not old. Some places serve old edamame and they did not. BYOB - they do not serve alcohol. What is sushi without Japanese beer or sake? Bummed about that. Side note: They will be closed on Tuesdays due to staff shortage according to the sign. NOTE: The staff were not Japanese so do not expect authentic japanese cuisine. They spoke a different language. I know this because I am 1/2 Japanese ;) read more

It used to be okay but I draw the line when I find bugs in my soup. Won't be going back. I've been in this area for 10 years and have definitely seen the place go down as far as freshness and now with the last visit bugs in my soup. read more

Atami Sushi - Chicken teriyaki bento box - Sushi Bars Near Me - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania

Probably the best authentic Japanese Restaurant from Binghamton to NYC. Reasons for the 6 star: 1. Quality of sashimi -very fresh 2. Value of Sashimi - excellent for price and serving 3. Service = sipper, graceful, dignified, charming all Asian staff, e.g. Ms. Jenny and Mr. John 4. Ambiance and décor -simple dignified - no noise Additional assets- easy parking next to Weiss Shopping Market -very convenient recommend to travelers on 380 and 81 Also Sashimi is the best health food for all ages. We need to support this place. My credential - 88 yr old prof that has eaten food all over the globe except sub-Sahara in Africa, India, and Australia. read more

Great service. Outstanding rolls and sashimi. Ambiance could use some upgrades. Pricing reasonable. Free adamame.

After being a loyal customer for over 15 year , we ordered dinner tonight and they messed up my sons order that we ordered the same way as we have every time, instead of correcting the issue they decided they would rather lose a lifelong customer over $7 fried rice #awfulcustomerservice read more

Been on a slow slide down hill. Consistently at least one item in an order will be incorrect. Not horrible by any means but not great has become mediocre with five star pricing. read more

I've ordered sushi a couple times recently in August and just yesterday from their website . The Tokyo roll, spider roll and the rainbow rolls were excellent . I was also presently surprised by the additions they added like the crab slaw and an additional roll which I loved and another surprise . It's clear to me they take a lot of pride in their product . The taste is fresh and the service is excellent. read more

As far as sushi goes this place is pretty good. It takes very fresh. We have tried the philadelphia, California, shrimp tempura, and my absolute favorite vegetable tempura roll. This is one of my favorite sushi places. The service is very quick and they are very friendly read more

We always have really liked atami. They have great sushi. Our only negative experience was customer service related and it was so horrendous that we will not be returning or ordering from there again. I hate leaving negative reviews especially on restaurants but the amount of disrespect I was shown was so upsetting I had to say something. I hope others will NEVER experience what I did. read more

Fantastic, fresh! Zen roll, tuna, red snapper, great appetizers! Best shushi in the northeast! Love love love coming to eat here! read more

We came here after the end of a long trip looking for an establishment that included both a hibachi and sushi option and ended up here. Many of the items that I wanted (fatty tuna, uni, etc.) were not available, which was upsetting to me. I would have rather had the waitress inform me of the choices that weren't available as opposed to placing my entire order only to find out what I requested couldn't be fulfilled. That said, the sushi I did receive was fresh and decent. Was it out of this world? It was not, but I the pieces I did receive were perfectly adequate. My friends seemed to enjoy their hibachi, but we weren't aware of the fact that the hibachi was prepared in the kitchen, not live in person. Would I come back? That's a big maybe. I would try other sushi establishments in Scranton before coming back. I would definitely recommend going to Mayuri for lunch, as it is a fantastic place to eat. read more

Just ate hear for the firs time after reading the reviews. My future wife had a sushi craving but there aren't a lot of good options in the Lake Ariel, PA area. We decided to drive the 40 minutes to give it a try and we are glad we did. It's located in a shopping center and a hidden gem. $2 for ALL bottled beers and $8 for uni make this place a steal. The food and service are excellent. It has a nice ambiance but is very casual. If you're looking for good Japanese food at very reasonable prices then this is the place. read more
