The last couple of times we came here, we weren't too happy, but today's experience was the absolute worst. The food at the buffet was absolutely awful. All of the chicken dishes were were either undercooked or overcooked and Ithe beef was fatty and chewy. We never spit so much food into our napkins as we did today. The sushi was good and we didn't go to the Hibachi grill. This review is based on the buffet meat only. We will NEVER be back again. read more

First time here. It was okay. The place is "huge" inside. 3 large dining areas, so even if the parking lot looks full, chances are there is still seating. Pricing is fair. Service is good/prompt. It's the selection that's a little weak. The sushi bar was nearly empty most of the time we were there. The Hibachi guy was not the friendliest. We come from Florida and selections are much larger. I really don't like going here. My father and grandma seem to enjoy it but maybe they have an iron stomach. I always get a stomach ache right after and the service always sucks. They love to hover over you while your getting your card to pay and expect a decent tip. I'll tip if you bug off but if you're gonna stare at me and not give me a moment I'll tip $0. read more

The food was very appetizing, hot and super fresh. Even though this place is huge it is extremely clean. The waitstaff was very attentive and quick to respond. All classic beverage were available and we found delicious smoothie. The ice cream choices were delicious. We were a big group and I am impressed it went so smoothly. Royal Buffet is easy to find, being located across from the Dickson City Crossings and Home Depot. Building has plenty of parking and they have more seating than you would expect. Royal Buffet has your standard salad bar, hot items, hibachi, and desert area. They also have a Sushi bar with a surprisingly decent selection. The selection of Chinese food was not the deepest, but everything I had was good including the Chicken and Broccoli. Staff also kept everything well stocked. The Sushi bar options were tasty, but they didn't label what each roll was. Salad bar was surprisingly large with many options and the fruit on the desert area was fresh. Price was reasonable for what was offered, and the service was fine. After reading other reviews about Royal Buffet, I had some concerns, but didn't experience the issues others have. This place saved us from a potentially hangry night. We walked in not really knowing what to expect. Our original plans were ruined and everything around us was closing, so we were hungry and borderline moody. Anyway when we walked in we were greeted warmly. We chose to try out the buffet and even though it was near the end of their day, the items on their buffet still looked pretty appetizing and fresh. They had a wide selection of items, ranging from sushi to a salad bar, Chinese food, hibachi, desserts, fruits as well as regular pizza, burgers and fries. So whatever your mood is, they've pretty much got you covered. We chose hibachi- best decision ever. Not only is it cooked fresh in front of you, you can also choose what you want your protein to carb ratio to look like if you're into that stuff (shout out to my gym peeps). They also had sauces that you could mix and match (again, unlabeled which made it a bit difficult to choose) BUT even if you had no idea what sauce combo you wanted (like us), the food was delicious. Some things to note: 1) Not all the foods or condiments are labeled. This makes it difficult to know exactly what you're eating. This was only for a small selection of foods, but it was noticeable. 2) The buffet area isn't spacious - this causes long lines during rush hours and a lot of "excuse me." 3) Definitely do not expect a fancy or classy establishment. This is more of a "in a hurry and hungry kind of place." Besides that, the prices are reasonable for take-out. If you choose to dine-in, not sure how that works. If we decide to dine-in one day we'll make an update. All in all we'd recommend this place if you're in mixing up different styles of food. I love this place. Only one or two times have I had a problem here out of many many times so I'd say 5% of the time I visited I've had an issue. Bathroom is clean there's always soap I love the way the hand dryer smells when you blow dry your hands. There's sanitizer everywhere they make you sanitize when you walk in. The buffet price was amazingly cheap! Compared to New York.... When I saw the price I was in shock. The food selection is not huge, but it is enough to be satisfied. There is hibachi, sushi, Chinese food, and American food. If you don't see your usual sushi, don't worry you can ask the chef to make whatever it is that you want. The dim sum looked ehhhh.... Haven't been here in years. Went in for lunch ($12.29) and it's still good. Seems very Covid conscious - all staff still masked and asks to hand sanitize before serving yourself (Covid aside, I like that!). One of the buffets was closed, can't recall what used to be over there I think a lot of the hot American type food, but still a lot of options. used to love this place but last time i went the waitress (don't know her name but she had short black hair) gave me my check in the middle of my mean and stood there until i gave her my credit card to pay- not letting me finish my meal. Then when she came back she stood over me and watched as i filled out her tip. My bill was only 17$ since i hadn't got a drink, only water and i thought her forcing me out was rather rude so i didn't give much of a tip, this is a buffet all she did was give me a water and then was very rude. When she saw the tip i gave (about 15%) she flipped out on me in the middle of the restaurant saying stuff like "why did you only give me that, i brought you water what would you give me such a small tip" very aggressively. The servers are very mean. I did not get food but I did have a bite of my friends and got screamed at. "I eat i pay" is what I was told. I simply replied that I was just having a bite of my friends food who was paying. She continued to say I have eyes. This buffet was suggested by a friend, and so for our traditional new years eve Chinese dinner, off we went to Royal. By far, the best Chinese buffet I've been to. Want variety? Yup...including frog legs, whole squid, and seaweed salad, which was good. Three long islands full of hot food, great variety, including good sushi, crab legs and several shrimp offerings. Ribs were very good also! Friendly service also...quick refills. Only gripe was the table sizes...we were really tight at 6, and our table was tightly crammed against another. It was so tight that I was hit by flying crabmeat from the man next to me, opening his crab legs.
