Service was friendly but the waitress didn't have many recommendations beyond pointing out the popular dishes. Service was A1! So very welcoming and genuine from the time you step through the door. The restaurant was kind of quiet and empty when we went. Friday at 5. Location is downtown Scranton. Easy to spot. Ambiance was casual dining. Food was comfort and delicious. I order a Pad See Aew. It was fresh and hot temperature wise. It's a soy sauce, oyster sauce dish with chicken (meat, tofu, veggie of your choice) accompanied with broccoli, bok choy and noodles. My husband ordered the fried wings with Thai chili sauce ! The food is delicious, I definitely recommend it. My husband and I come from San Diego, and have had our share of Thai food, and this measured up beautifully. I got the Pork Pad See Aew and my husband got the Pork Pad Thai the order was mistaken and he got Chicken instead, but it was probably Uber eats fault not the restaurants, and still just as good,then we got the "Forever Love" to share, and my favorite, Thai tea. It was all tasty, and the food was nice and hot when it arrived by Uber Eats. I warn though, their "medium" spice is not for the faint of heart. My husband is Mexican, and we both love spicy food, but were taken by surprise at the level of spice medium had. We also got a pad see eww and it was so tasty! Tofu is perfectly fried. Soft outer fried skin and inner as well. Unlike many other tofu dishes else where, they are tad bit too tough to chew on the exterior. Service is amazing. They are super hospitable. They remember me after almost 10 years of being out of state and treated me so special when I came back. From waitresses to owners, everyone was so kind and welcoming! The interior hasn't changed much since I was last here. It has a Thai-feel ambiance, vintage style. Their pricing only increased a dollar since 10 years ago...despite covid and inflation . i used to come here on special occasions.with family. we have been coming here for years. then covid happened and we got take out. still good food. theni don't know what happened. no more white cloth tables. we used to come here on my anniversary and get dressed up. now it's just bare tables. the asian waitress (wish i remembered her name) no longer there. she was always happy to greet us and remembered our family. she would play happy birthday cha cha cha and make it special. the food. the person who took my food order said it was the same cooks. well it's not. the food is bland. i asked for spicy and it is basically water . i used to order a 3 out of 5 and would be tearing up at the table but loving it and swearing to myself i would get a smaller number next time. this is not the case today. bland and flavorless. the clear noodle soup used to come in this gigantic metal bowl with a flame under it and now it's this small measly bowl. so disappointed. not returning. sorry. bring back the old cooks! read more

When I was headed back to Jersey I wanted to grab lunch and came across this spot. I called in my order of the vegetable dumplings, spring rolls and spaghetti kee mao. When I arrived I parked nearby. I walked in and seen they only do take out and my food still wasn't ready. I waited ablut 6 minutes or so and a man brought my food out. I asked him for hot and duck sauce. He brought out one duck sauce packet lol and I asked for another and he seemed hesitant but he gave me one more. He was trying to be stingy with the duck sauce lol. I paid about $18 and left. When I got in I ate and everything was good. I enjoyed the spaghetti the most. All in all I had a pretty decent experience. read more

This is the one surviving Thai restaurant in Scranton and it was always the "better one". As Thai food goes its not the best I have ever had, but its certainly good. I cant say I have ever had a bad meal from there. I have tried all the curries and I'm a regular on the Thai Basil Fried Rice. The people there are so so nice. Considering that it is in my top 2 favorite food choices, I have Thai food in every new city I visit, and nothing compares to Thai Rak Thai. Whenever we make it back to NEPA, it's a must stop. Everything is good, but my husband (who is half Thai) thinks the drunken noodles surpass any others he's ever had. I love the pad macaroni, which is not on the menu at most places. The pineapple fried rice is another winner for me, and my mom loves the pad Thai. The service is always friendly, and their birthday song is cute. Glad I read reviews first and did an Uber eats instead of going their to eat and be disappointed that it's a take out. For some reason when I was ordering the food, the Penang curry did not have a chicken option so I stuck with tofu. However, chicken was on the menu and I got the chicken salad, too, which was nothing great, and the chicken was highly overcooked. The fried rice was pretty bland and I think I have had way better pineapple fried rice elsewhere. Last but not least, despite of requesting utensils from them, the food arrived with none. Yes, that was upsetting, because I am visiting the area and staying at a hotel, which does not provide any utensils. When I called the restaurant, all that the lady said was next time, she will give me double utensils. What a comment !!!! all in all, I don't think the food was as great, as the hype around this places. They need to get better and yes, I do agree with some of the other reviewer's on their portion size it is much less compared to other Thai places. read more

I am a fan of Thai food and this place was a great pick. The food is good based on my two visits here. I am a fan of the curry puffs from the appetizer menu, little pieces with some good flavor. The menu has all the standard thai food options to choose from. During my last visit i ordered for the chicken drunken noodles and it was Ok; the chicken was a little hard to chew on and the noodles lacked flavor. This spot is great for take out and packed constantly. Prices are very fair and service is decent. They are pretty quick but they don't seem to have a working phone? Maybe they were just very busy but we called 4 times to place a take out order and was unable to get through so we had to put in the order in person luckily we live very close. Only available for pickup during COVID times but this place was just as good as all the reviews said. I'm from the South and was here for work so I had to find some good good and this was a hit. I got the drunken noodles spicy which was not spicy at all for my African taste buds. It was flavorful and tasty and the veggies in it were cooked perfectly. The luck portion was perfect. The star of the show was the curry puff though. I had never ever heard of such a thing at a Thai restaurant so I had to get them. 2.5-3.0 Located in Scranton, Pa, we came here for dinner after a day of skiing in the area. While the restaurant is lovely, the food is very mixed. Tom Yum Soup- It was ok, but we had much better in other restaurants. The bowl is quite small and the blend of flavors were disappointing. Flatbread with chicken curry (aka roti canai)- while we enjoyed the roti with it's thin, delicate layers, the chicken and the curry were lacking. The curry was watery thin, almost broth-like. The chicken had a strange texture. It is hard to explain, but it was "crunchy" even though it was chicken breast chunks (not fried). For $10, it was not worth it if you are only eating the roti. Pad thai- this had great flavors and they accommodated our request to omit some of the ingredients. Pineapple fried rice- very good flavors. The cooked pineapple was delicious with the rice. They were again able to accommodate our request to omit some of the ingredients. Beef curry- the curry sauce was delicious but the beef texture was very strange. It was hard and inedible. Not sure what cut of beef this was. There was a small amount of cut green beans in this dish but if not eating the beef, you are basically just left with the curry sauce and the cut green beans. Mango flavored Bubble smoothie-do not order bubble tea here! The tapioca bubbles are hard and only half cooked. The mango flavored smoothie was extremely sweet. Overall, avoid the meats here. Love this Thai place. Probably one of the best I've ever been to. Vegetarian friendly. Cute atmosphere, laid-back, relaxing, and customer friendly...high hospitality. A customer came in to pick up his order. While he was waiting, he was offered a cup of hot tea. That impressed me a lot.
