This is the 3rd year in a row that I've visited back home from Miami and Rikasa is always on my list! The rooftop has stunning views and is beautifully designed with outdoor seating of both Main Street in Pittston, overlooking the murals and the river. The rooftop is also retractable. We usually walk in early evening to head to the bar although reservations are recommended. The drinks are honestly the best drinks I've had anywhere! I've had a pomegranate martini and my favorite this year, guava martini! The drinks are strong and perfectly balanced and flavorful! I haven't had the food but I would highly recommend if you're looking to be transcended from the typical offerings of the area to a more sophisticated venue with great view! The weekly events and brunch I see shared to social media also sounds like they'd be fun! read more

Rikasa came highly recommended by some friends to check out the roof. We went around sunset and the atmosphere and sunset did not disappoint. We were immediately seated at a table for 2. Our waitress came to take our drink order and we got the peach sangria for 2 which uniquely came in a French press. We ordered calamari and oysters as an appetizer. Then the hot sausage cavatelli and sea bass which were both phenomenal. They also give you a restaurant passport to visit all of their restaurants for a $100 gift card along with $2 off a drink at the speakeasy. Only reason I didn't give it a 4 was that service was extremely slow. Our waitress seemed to have disappeared and by the end of the night someone completely new was just there assisting. read more

I am the wrong shade to get good service. I visited this restaurant while in the area and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I was seated at a table near the bar and served by a waitress with dark hair in a ponytail. I ordered a mango martini made with the mango purée they use for their mocktail, but she mistakenly brought me a non-alcoholic drink. I sent it back, and while she corrected it, the service continued to feel inattentive. A couple who arrived after me was promptly served bread and later received their food before I did, while I was still waiting. I never received bread at all. When I asked about it, the waitress's attitude came across as dismissive, as if my concerns didn't matter. Eventually, I asked for the check. The manager came over to ask what was wrong. She was polite, but by then I was too upset. It has been a long time since I've felt the sting of racism, yet the service I received felt disrespectful, and I could not shake the feeling that it was connected to the shade of my skin. While out of town for work, I stopped in at this gorgeous restaurant! When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and sat at the bar. The restaurant was absolutely gorgeous and looked brand new. Amanda was my bartender, and she was great! I started with the lemon drop martini, and it was very good! For my entrée I got the dinner special, Barramundi with parmesan risotto. When it came out, it looked good. I dug in, and it tasted good but needed some salt. I really loved the risotto. Was met with a smile and promptly sent upstairs by way of the elevator. Greeted warmly right out of the doors and shown to our seats. Our server Jules was the sweetest and she could not be more attentive. She made sure we were well taken care of without being intrusive. We loved the glass rooftop, however the view left something to be desired. Not at all taking away from our Valentine's Day dinner though. The meals were amazing as always and we had the pleasure of riding the elevator with a chef. My husband asked what was good. Came with a large group for a celebration. The food was decent and served quickly, but things were missing from our order. I deeply enjoyed the mozzarella appetizer, however I ordered the filet of sole and there was so much pepper it was difficult to eat. They have plenty of non pork options and do a great job with kids. I just have to emphasize the annoyance that the bathroom is on a totally different floor which is, at best a buzzkill. The food is absolutely delicious, cheers to that! We had a great experience at Rikasa. Service was good and the food was flavorful and delicious. I think out of all the joints associated with Friedman Group this one sits on top of the list for me. Started the meal with a shared giant meat ball and peach and goat cheese salad. I ordered the pappardelle veal ragu and my husband got shrimp scampi which was on the special list. Shrimp scampi was kind of sour which we loved and the tomato sauce on my pappardelle was rich. Ended the meal with cream brûlée, which our waiter said is made in house. read more

I feel like any restaurant that serves to go meals should make an effort at least . You don't know someone's situation and why they couldn't dine in . If this wasn't my first experience I probably would never dine here again. The Brunch was extremely disappointing. Although the omelet was the right size and tasty, the rye toast was lightly toasted and cold. The butter couldn't melt and jelly had to be requested. The breakfast potatoes were not made from fresh potatoes. They had the taste of frozen product. The most disappointing was the stuffed french toast. Billed as french toast with cream cheese and fresh fruit. It was not french toast. It was a grilled cheese sandwich. The bread was greasy from the butter. The cream cheese was melted and there were only 3 blueberries. Very salty and overpriced. An upscale restaurant that uses plastic stirrers for the coffee? Appears "fancy" from afar, but after dining here twice, I don't want to go back, except to have drinks on the rooftop. The menu is pretty small, and vegetarian options few and far between. The drinks are nice, refreshing, and I have enjoyed my cocktails each time. The service is where they can use some improvement. With all of the headsets and "permission" to go into the elevator procedures, I expected more. For the amount of customers, they seem quite overstaffed, but the service level is lacking. Our recent rooftop visit was chaotic, and instead of being there for 60-90 minutes, as we expected, we were there for going on 2.5 hours due to the issues. They forgot things we ordered multiple times and every time someone came to our table, it was a different person. You would think with the headsets, they'd be able to communicate more efficiently. The totally forgot my husband's entree and it took quite a while for them to remediate it. We did get a dessert on the house. But even before we ordered it, people were coming to the table asking how we enjoyed our dessert. Weird. Will come again, but only for drinks and the view. read more

We came after a wedding ceremony and had great views from the rooftop portion of the restaurant. I had a seafood pasta and my significant other had the filet. Everything that came out was very good! Service was efficient. The only thing was that our drinks were a bit watered down, but the food made up for it. Really lovely atmosphere especially if you're celebrating something special. read more

First off, let me start with the positives because there are a lot. We have only been there the one time at this point so this is a first impression review. The food was very good. There is really no complaint I can voice about it that wouldn't just be nit-picking. I thought the pricing was definitely fair and the overall selection to choose from (on the rooftop menu) offered a selection that most could find something they would enjoy. The atmosphere is of course subjective but didn't leave a whole lot to form an opinion about. Giant T.V. With a beach scene, tables placed in the middle of walkways, tables placed basically in server work areas, the music was unbelievably loud (maybe not an issue for you if you love Will Smith songs.) All basically minor issues. The real issues came with the service. Right out of the gate we experienced poor customer service. The hostess when we walked in treated the couple in front of us wonderfully, "Hello, welcome. Is this your first time dining with us? Please come with me." Us: [blank stare] "Reservation"? Gave our name. Follow me. Walked us to the elevator and said when it comes back down hit R and go to the roof and walked away. Went to the R, door opened to another hostess and a crowd of employees gathered at the bar in the way of exiting the elevator. The hostess was fine. Led us to our table (where we discovered the sweet high decibel Fresh Prince jams) then the server. Terrible service. This woman had very large sunglasses on, it was completely cloudy on the verge of rain so it was odd. No one else was wearing sunglasses. She was short with us, seemed inconvenienced by us, and offered the bare minimum for service and table side manner. Half way through the meal (both of us still with more than half of our meals left) she came over and asked if we were "still working on that". At the end she never asked anything like would you like a dessert or maybe some coffee. You get the idea. Good fine dining is difficult to find in Northeastern Pennsylvania so when we find a place we enjoy it is a particularly happy event. The restaurant has contemporary art throughout but I understand the third floor was an old Masonic Lodge in which they preserved much of the Masonic symbolism. Unfortunately that floor was closed for repairs but as a Freemason myself, I plan to go back and see the architecture. The service was outstanding and our server was particularly friendly and good at her job. We ordered Arancini Di Riso to split for our appetizer. It was nice and crispy on the outside and the risotto on the inside was creamy and well flavored. For our entrees I ordered the Blackened Chilean Sea Bass which was served over creamy risotto and fabulous spinach. The sea bass was blackened beautifully and was perfectly cooked on the inside. I loved the spinach and the risotto as well. My wife had the Shrimp Francese which she was kind enough to let me taste. The shrimp were large and perfectly cooked (too many restaurants in this area over cook seafood; not the case here). There was a coating on the shrimp, not a breading, but it gave it a slight texture which was fantastic. I didn't taste her pasta but it looked wonderful. Dinner with friends on Saturday night in Pittston. Rikasa's features a roof top bar & tables for drinks and appetizers. It was a beautiful evening with a glorious sunset. Dinner inside on the first floor, nice ambiance, great service. Pictured below is one of their specials for the evening, venison chops. I ordered it and asked for the chef to prepare it they saw fit, risky, but rewarding! Super tender and tasty! All 6 of us were very happy w/ our meals and the entire experience. It is expensive, but as long as you know that going in, you will not be disappointed. Afterwards we retired next door to the Knights of Columbus for drinks and dancing, where JFK is featured, having paraded down Main Street in the early 1960's. Had dinner on rooftop. The view and atmosphere were perfect The drink specials were also great. We split the tuna tartare and it was delicious. Good portion for two to share as an appetizer. It really depends on the night you go if you want to see the rooftop don't go during the week only go Friday or Saturday. I got scolded because it was a Tuesday night and I decided to take a walk up to see the rooftop and use the restroom on the second floor. When I came back down, the waitress came over to my table and asked why I went to the second floor. I said it was sees the toilet, which was true Took me less than five minutes to go up. Snap these photos and come back down honestly, the food is not as good as I remember the last time I went. It's missing some thing for the cost it's not worth going to this place unless you just wanna feel like a hipster, then go and spend the extra money but know that you'll probably won't go back. Crabcakes were burned on the bottom, but fine on the top flavor was missing some thing. It's the first time I ate crabcakes and had to put the sauce on if you want real crabcakes, go to Greicos make the reservation you won't be disappointed. I'm not sure why you would go here for food. Maybe you were just go for drinks and to see the roof. read more

I really want to like this place. I love the area, the rooftop bar is pretty cool and overall the ambiance is nice. But it's just not good. And when you take into account the prices, it's bad. I've dined here 4 times in total and one of the four times I genuinely enjoyed my meal and felt I got what I paid for, but the other times i felt like I grossly overpaid and left underwhelmed. The rooftop bar is pretty cool, dined there around June of 2023 and it was a cool experience. But the food was bad. The meat and cheese tray (charcuterie board if we want to be fancy) was like something you get at Wal-Mart of Sam's Club for a football game. The drinks were terrible, I got an Old Fashioned and it was the worst I ever had and probably one of the more expensive ones in the area. The meal wasn't even on me and I still feel like I overpaid! Dining downstairs is nice. It does get a little loud when it's busy but it kinda is an upscale bar setting, not an intimate sit down meal. The menu downstairs is slightly different than upstairs and they're both okay menus in practice. The pasta dishes are overpriced, over complicated and underwhelming. To give some credit, I had a Filet Mignon from there and that was the one dishes I really enjoyed and felt was worth what I paid. The meatball appetizer is pretty good, but even then, it came out cold once. I mean $15 for a meatball appetizer and it's cold? Come on. Overall, this place is very hit or miss, with a majority of my experience being misses. And when they've missed, it's been bad misses. With how much you're paying for a meal, it really makes it not worth going. It actually bothers me that this place just isn't that good because with the location and atmosphere, it could be a gem. read more

Long time customers but turned off by bar seating Resv. Arrived on Friday (usually a busy time) without a reservation but wanted to sit at the long bar. However it was filled by customers but had napkins and silverware set out for 6-7 places. Asked the young lady if we could sit at the bar but she said No that the bar seats were reserved. Don't usually see bar seats reserved but ok. We sat at a small table for two near the bar and ordered dinner. Over the course of the ninety or so minutes we were there, several groups were obviously desiring to be seated at the bar but were turned down and some left as most of all of the tables were filled. When we departed the restaurant at about 8:30pm the 7 reserved bar seats were still vacant and unused. Doesn't seem the right thing to do by restaurant mgmt. Great service and ambiance. Only negative was they originally brought our entrees out before our appetizers. We sent the entrees back and then after our apps were finished, they brought out the SAME filet mignon I originally had ordered and that they brought out 20 min prior! Needless to say, you could tell it sat under a heat lamp for the 20 minutes. It was crispy and tough. So sad for the filet mignon. Just the food Butternut squash soup- too much thickener, either flour or corn starch it was to present in the taste. Lamb chops and mashed potato- ok my number one peeve, food not all hot. Mashed potatoes luke warm I assume waiting for the chops. Plenty of meat. Can't complain. A little overcooked but still tender. Nice sauce. At first, this looks to be a fine dining experience. Experience is an overrated nomenclature for this establishment. The staff were well coifed and mannered. Short ribs should not be on the menu if the offering is representative of what i was served. The server was amused when i ordered a port as an aperitif. I suggested that management should add an offering. It seems that they were not amused at the suggestion. Overall the dining experience was ok. The eggplant parmesan was dry and flavorless. Not enough sauce and not enough cheese. For some reason there was a slice of raw tomato in between the eggplant slices. The dish did not come with a side of pasta, just dry eggplant that was hard at the edges. We asked for cracked pepper for our salads and the waitress told us to use the pepper shaker on the table (!). The bread for the table consisted of four nickel sized pieces and they charged us extra when we asked for more. Will not be returning. read more
