When I lived in Northeast PA, Rustic Kitchen was one of my go-to spots after, ahem, "donating" some funds to the Mohegan tribe via the slot machines. Fast forward a few years, and during a recent visit back to the area, I found myself with no plans on New Year's Eve. Thankfully, some old friends knew I'd be a lonesome third wheel, so they graciously invited me to join their dinner plans at Rustic Kitchen. They even had a reservation and managed to sneak me in. On New Year's Eve, no less! That's already a win in my book. We arrived at 7:30 p.m. and were promptly seated in a cozy booth--great for catching up and digging into some good food. Rustic Kitchen was offering its regular menu plus a special New Year's Eve menu, which included a surf and turf option for $75. One of my friends splurged on it, but I had my eye on some other options. Since I was driving, I asked if they had non-alcoholic beer, and to my surprise, they had two options! Huge props for that. As we chatted and reminisced, we nibbled on some fresh, fluffy focaccia bread that was dangerously addictive. Then it was time to order, and I started with the Meatballs al Forno. A very generous portion of tender, flavorful meatballs bubbling away in marinara, smothered with melty mozzarella cheese. It was so good I almost forgave my friends for refusing to help me devour them. Almost. Next up was a salad that was on the special menu for the evening. It featured mixed greens, walnuts, blackberries, and a glorious, creamy ball of housemade burrata cheese. It was fresh, delicious, and a perfect segue to the star of the meal: the Spanish Pork Chop. This wasn't just any pork chop--it was a bone-in beauty, cooked to a perfect medium and topped with the chef's mother's secret sauce. The sauce was a mix of bacon, onions, olives, and light tomato flavors that brought everything together. It came with mashed potatoes and broccolini. When dessert time rolled around, we all pretended to be strong-willed and skipped it. Despite it being a holiday, the service was unhurried and impeccable, with each course arriving at just the right pace. Rustic Kitchen was everything I remembered it to be--excellent food, warm atmosphere, and stellar service. It's no wonder this place has stood the test of time as one of the original restaurants at Mohegan Sun. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. And as for the slot machines? read more

Disappointing experience this time. Have been here many times over the years and this visit was a let down. First the good. The Rustic Clam Chowder continues to be excellent. Rest of the meal disappointing and underwhelming. The complementary bread was not even up to fast casual standards. The Chicken Parm was no better than Olive Garden at double the price. Pasta that came with it was undercooked. Guest with me had the Filet at $50 and said Longhorns cheaper steak was better. And the worst part of the experience was the waiter. Came across as annoyed with any request and should not be bothered with simple requests. Mohegan Sun isn't a "lucky" casino and now it has another reason to go elsewhere for gambling & grub. read more

Love Rustic Kitchen at Mohegan. Staff is great. Makes you feel at home and important. Jeremy at the bar does an outstanding job serving dinners, getting drinks, and greets everyone with a smile. The food is delicious and they have mastered the desserts. I'll definitely be a repeat customer. read more

Decided to "get out", so we took my Dad to the Mohegan Sun Casino. We started by first having dinner at the Rustic Kitchen. Being there just as it opened (4:00pm), seating as readily available. Dad likes to eat early. Service was good. The food was good. It wasn't great. My dad had the burger (rare). He didn't even pause when they placed it in front of him, so I couldn't get a picture. He thinks Yelping is dumb. Never argue with an 84 year old. lol. My steak was good. My wife had the Strawberry Salad (with steak). She liked it. Food is a little pricy. For a few dollars more, I could have gone to the restaurant next door for my steak. Anyway...... They have a "studio" area where they do a live cooking show (on Fridays and Saturdays). That might be interesting. Plan ahead. read more

Unfortunately my experience recently at the Rustic Kitchen was not the best. One of the meals ordered tasted as if the sauce was burned. Jeremy was awesome! So glad that I was referred to this restaurant because the service was top notch! I had a great time and Jeremy knew the menu and how to accommodate my dietary requests. I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcomes. I sat at the bar which was virtually empty until some locals arrived. They had been here several times and provided great meal time conversation. I learned a lot about the area as well. My meal was good. I couldn't have been more pleased with the taste, flavor, guidance, experience or quantity of food. It was excellent! However, I can't possibly give enough shoutouts or credit to Jeremy who made my experience extra special. A heartfelt thank you! read more

I was in town for work and wanted to try this restaurant out. I didn't realize it was inside the Mohegan Sun. When I arrived I parked in their lot. I walked in and found the restaurant by the casino. The restaurant was super nice. I sat at the bar and Tracy was my bartender and she was great. I started with the lemon drop martini and it was tasty. I then went with the espresso martini and the coffee was too strong so I went back to the lemon drop. For my dinner, I got saffron shrimp linguini. When it came out it looked delicious. When I dug in it was super tasty. I enjoyed the flavoring! I truly enjoyed my time and would return. read more

Came here to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. We all were staying in the hotel and gambling in the casino and wound up at this restaurant for the big birthday dinner celebration. We were a party of 6, so we made reservations in advance. The decor of the restaurant was great. Lots of cool images were all around us. We all started out ordering a bunch of different cocktails and mixed drinks. I went with the spicy margarita and I loved it. The tequila used was great and so smooth. After a while, we ordered our meals, and everyone enjoyed themselves. I had the spicy shrimp meal, which was awesome. Perfect amount of heat. A popular choice from everyone was the hanger steak. No one snapped a photo of it, though, lol. But everyone raved how good it was. My mom went with the salmon meal, and she loved it. Overall, we had a blast here and really enjoyed ourselves. The food and drinks are on point here. Highly recommended! read more

Reserved a table for 6, last minute 3 friends wanted to meet up. Asked when we got there and they gave us two separate tables, split apart. Multiple tables open, so we could not understand the rationale not allowing us putting tables together. Food was decent, but we will not be looking to go here again. Management did not explain why the tables could not be together. Same waiter for both tables. read more

Food quality / price (value) rating 7.5. The atmosphere is contemporary flair casino style. The food was okay, service was okay, prices were okay. I had the Orecchietta with sausage, and the wife had the Tagliatelle Bolognese. Both were good, but nothing to really make me come again. Rustic Kitchen is my favorite restaurant! Food is awesome! Service, terrific. Ambiance... beautiful!!! Love it there!!!

eh..... visited this spot before gambling. It's at Mohegan so it was convenient. TOTALLY overpriced. We got BASIC food. My shrimp tasted...."fishy" so it ruined my meal. There were a lot of patrons, maybe their meals were better. Service was....weird. Had a waitress start to take my order, then she abruptly walked away.....I was like, "wtf just happened"? There are WAY better places to go before gambling. read more

Not a warm experience. Still left a tip why not sure read more

Had dinner here 1st time. Must say not very impressed. Maybe they had new cooks. Very good beer selection. Fair beer pricing. Calamari was excellent. Best of all food we had. Not a fan of the bread which is like a chewy glazed bun. Rather have a quality fresh bread. Salads were drenched in dressing. Not good at all Cheese crisp with salad was great. Ny strip steak was tougher than it should be. Medium cooked but very dry. Poor quality. Broccoli Rob excellent. Salmon was good. Mashed potatoes good. Creme burlee not very good. Watery inside with creamy like fudge on bottom. Completely Overpowers the cream. Tiramisu was very good. Coffee very good. Overall would have given 4 stars if service was better. Waitress didn't really want to be there and barely came to table as we had to waive staff down for stuff during dinner. For pricing, should be better. read more

The best thing about our visit here was the cocktails. I had chicken Marsala, my husband had veal Marsala. Both came with green beans and smashed potatoes. The green beans were good - nice and firm. The potatoes were WAY too salty. We told the manager, who did nothing. When we mentioned it to our server, he told the kitchen who agreed and then got rid of the entire batch. The veal was tough but my chicken tasted ok. However, later that night, I got sick! I believe it was food poisoning- probably from the chicken. It really is a disappointment to pay $100 for a meal that makes me sick, literally! The service was good, but I would have preferred to sit in a booth as being in the middle, it's very loud. I would really have to think twice before I would ever go here again. read more

I ate here a few years ago and it was great so I had to come here again. They was plenty of seating and the service was outstanding. There is a nice upscale feeling here. I had a cup of chowder followed by the stuffed chicken. The stuffed chicken was so good. The bread they provide is so good and tastes like a pretzel. If you are ever here at the casino I would highly recommend coming here. It is always a good experience. read more

It was a very late night out or you could call it an early Saturday morning. Played slots from 11:00 a.m. friday to 5 a.m. Saturday , had an amazing time. Anyway I was starving and knew rustic kitchen would be opening at 11;30. We sat at the door waiting for the place to open, yes I made a reservation but screwed up do to lack of sleep. But doesn't matter, Marissa the lonely friendly funny bar keep sits us at this corner table which started my day. It was big comfy and lots of room for two. Only ones in the restaurant so everybody was relaxed and anticipating what the day will bring. Marissa was kind and asked what we would like to drink. Long Island ice tea and diet Coke for me and a water for my friend. We spoke about the weather and just life in general. Last time we were there Marissa told us a joke that was so cute. That my friend started to tell it to everyone he came across. He claimed that saying for himself. Marissa had such away with my friend who's a buster. She handled him so well that it was going to be an enjoyable lunch. We got our drinks and placed our order, yup my friend was starting off his meal with dessert first. Than the soup and than filet mignon. I was so impressed with how Marissa handled herself. Our meal came out time wise perfect. Our drinks kept coming and than the rolls, just one thing at a time as if by clock work. people where gathering in for a meal as well. She never missed a beat with refills or bringing out appetizers out while still hot than the amazing crock of soup. Next to come was the main dish. In between each course dessert soup bread and then main course. She was able to take care of the bar the front desk and the other patrons. Marissa was wonderful. The food has amazing, definitely can not go wrong with a crock of clam chowder, it's the best around. The bread with an olive oil dip was spot on taste wise. The filet mignon was served with a sauce, butter garlic, red ajus and a horseradish cream. The filet was cooked to perfection, medium well with a side of broccolini and the most perfect mash potatoes. The taste of the whole meal was great. To me it was how it was so perfectly planned out in bringing it to us. Especially we started with dessert first. Marissa had things under control. Don't ever pass up a chance to eat here. Marissa we got lucky to have her because she normally bar tends. We where never rushed out, we relaxed and had time to unwind from the long night before. So make your reservations and go enjoy dessert drinks, appetizers than your main course in a comfy corner seat, that's how you start a good day. Marissa your like hitting the jackpot at rustic kitchen. Keep up the good work, we'll see you soon. read more

It was nice to venture back out to the casino and have a nice dinner. Food was on point but service was mediocre-seemed like someone important was there eating in the corner that all the staff flocked to and forgot about us. We ordered the arancini and the Italian spring rolls- tasty, flavorful and not greasy. I saw the shrimp scampi pizza online and mainly wanted to come for that but I guess it didn't make the cut in the reduced menu so I was bummed about that. I got the Mac and cheese instead which was good but very heavy-large portion size tho. My bf got the margherita pizza which he said was great. He got the creme brûlée for dessert but it had some kind of chocolate pudding at the bottom which was unexpected and while it was tasty, it was not what he wanted. I got a cosmo to drink which was delish! read more

I have had great meals here before but last night the service was AWFUL. We had a reservation for 8 people at 6:00. It took 45 minutes to get our drink order in. At 90 minutes we still had no food. Great food, attentive service, and unique atmosphere I came here with a large group of girls for a bachelorette party at the casino. As we were seated we ordered drinks that came out quickly. Our server was great, splitting the bills how we wanted and getting our orders in fast. We did make a reservation beforehand, so if you have a large group this is recommended. The bread and warm dip are amazing! We asked for seconds before our meal and out server brought out a fresh batch. For dinner I ordered the classic salad and a side of broccolini. The salad dressing is amazing! All of our meals came out at the same time and everyone loved their dishes. Needing a bite to eat, I opted to dine here for lunch. It seems like a neat place to hang" while you're getting a breath of air from the gambling pits. Frank, a seasoned server, has been working RK for a good number of years. I'm in the mood for a nice craft beer and a grilled chicken Panini sandwich with red peppers, mozzarella, Lemon aioli and crispy pancetta. Excellent. The sandwich combined with my beer really hit paydirt. They have a full- line menu and also cater to large groups. Cooking Guide: Lemon Aioli is lemon juice, garlic and olive oil.
