We've dined at the High Bridge countless of times. The food is consistent and always on point! There isn't a meal on the menu we haven't tried and never had a bad meal! Whether it's a salad, steak or pasta it comes out perfect! The portion sizes are a bit on the larger size depending on what you get and you'll always leave feeling stuffed! There are recurring specials for each day that range from pasta, cheese steak, burgers that are definitely worth it! The service is on point and always checked on to ensure you have what you need. The place offers a nice dining area and nice bar area. Reservations in bar area are recommended as well as other areas during peak times. This post makes me want to go back! Shrimp scampi had 2/10 flavor Cold shrimp cocktail sitting on half‑cooked rice. The scampi sauce is the McCormick store bought. I'm positive of this. I lived off it in college When I mentioned it, the waitress said, 'Well you didn't say anything" I responded "you were not around for me to mention it" she stared at me for about 5 seconds and just walked away. Hard to say anything when she dropped the plates and didn't come back until asking if we needed boxes. She was rude while taking the order but it was ignored because Im not going to allow someone whose job it is to tell me the vegetable of the day to ruin my time. We asked very simple questions and it was like I was causing so much harm "What's the vegetable of the day?" "Does the seafood soup have a white or red sauce base?" This place is hard for me to review; need to return and try more food to see if I need to revise what will be my current review. My visit might have been an off day. Country upscale farm house banquet hall vibes inside with your typical brown and beige colors. The decor is pretty cool but there is that old school green carpet that kind of stands out odd. Service was not bad, wait staff was polite and friendly for the most part, and ticket times didn't take long. Food is where it goes downhill for me. I ordered the tater tots, because who wouldn't want homemade tots? I also ordered the pretzel sticks, chorizo fries, and chicken mexicali. The tots were terrible; burnt outside, soft but dry inside, and no amount of dipping sauce made them palatable. They were basically shredded potatoes pressed into dense balls. The pretzel sticks were good homemade or not, but the honey mustard was way too sweet. I don't like sweet with my pretzels, I want them as salty as possible, so I didn't continue using the dip. The mexicali plate was basically fried flour tortilla chunks which were good, but the blush/rose sauce with chicken in the middle didn't offer much. Lastly, the chori fries were just chili fries; was hoping "chorizo" meant chopped up sausage not basically canned chili, or excessively minced homemade chili. Also, two of us ordered Blue Moon and both were spoiled, we sent them back. Waitress was kind of rude saying no one told her it tasted spoiled, well maybe no one drank it aside from us, or no one cares about getting sick. This could have been an off day for them or me. The other people in the party said their food was good or fine. Someone got linguine with clams in red sauce and enjoyed it. Someone else got a cauliflower crust pizza with all the toppings and liked it. Someone got the ridiculous giant burger with pounds of cheese and said it was ok. I was looking for a place to get dinner while in town and came across this restaurant. When I arrived I parked in the private lot. I was a little confused when I arrived because I believe there is a hotel attached. When I walked in I wanted to make sure I was at the correct place and since I was in a dead zone I needed to make sure they had wifi. The hostess wasn't very helpful to me so went inside and found another worker. Not sure if she understood me because she was stumbling over her words smh. She gave me the wifi after me making it clear I wanted to stay and sit at the bar. I sat at the bar and after a while Barbara, which was very nice, served me. I started with a lemon drop martini which was strong and tasty. I then got the pinot nior. For my meal I got the seafood fra diavolo. When it came out it looked good. I dug in and it lacked seasoning so I had to add salt and hot pepper flakes. It wasn't spicy like you expect a fra diavolo to be. I will say the bill wasn't bad. Even though we live 2.5 hours from this restaurant, we would drive here for dinner and back home again just because we absolutely love this place. We found it while staying in Lake Arrowhead. We enjoyed dinner here not once but twice during New Year's weekend, including making this our last meal of 2023! The food. Can we talk portions? Huge! Flavor? Huge flavors yet super simple homestyle dishes. They have a big selection on their menu. Our favs were the shrimp Mexicali app, the French onion soup, the pork chops, and Alfredo with any of the chicken dishes on the menu. The first time we visited a man at another table declared to all that his meal was "the best pork chop I've ever had!. Yeah, they were that good. Drinks were outstanding - a good wine selection, beers on tap and delicious cocktails. The service was outstanding. All of the servers and hosts were very friendly and so welcoming. This is definitely one of those "Cheers" spots where all the locals know each other. Love that vibe! The bar is gorgeous and we loved the classic feel of this historic building. We decided to go back to the restaurant based on our first visit in August. We arrived around 3PM on a Friday and thought they were closed due to not many cars in parking lot. They were open and by the time we left the parking lot was almost full. We ordered the Maple Glazed Salmon and Pretzel Coated Chicken from the special menu. We also had the pork chops. For the sides, we had sweet potato fries, homemade tater tots, and the spinach. Everything was delicious. The food arrives piping hot and plentiful. We will definitely be back again. read more

I ordered chicken alfredo, it was delicious and quite big portion. It made me very full but I didn't mind if it was delicious. My family ordered short rib ravioli with mushroom gravy sauce, it was so good, very flavorful. We went to the High Bridge house for a night out. It was suggested by a friend to us. Never heard of it before. We had reservations for 6pm. Didn't know it was attached to a hotel. Decent looking place, nice seating in dinning room. We sat at a booth in front of kitchen entrance but it didn't take away from anything. Not a young crowd but busy. It had a resort feel but hear a lot of locals come here. Our waitress was prompt and very helpful. Eager to answer any questions and go over the specials with us. Had a peanut butter martini. Couldn't really taste the peanut butter but the chocolate was fine. My husband had a margarita, nice size. He enjoyed. We had the meatball crostini as appetizer. Three nice size meatballs. Delivery of food was a bit slow but they were really crowed and honestly didn't mind the break between courses. The crostini as soggy so not to sure if it was hard at one time and just got soggy because of the temperature of the balls. We also had a cup of seafood soup. On special. It was hearty soup. Has clams and some pieces of scallop. It had green peppers in it which I'm not a fan but gave a good flavor. I opted for chicken Parmesan with stuffed rigatoni with vodka sauce. It was a huge piece of chicken! Again steaming hot, so much so that when I put it in the go go box it was still steaming.. Not good when you don't get mid to cold food. Wasn't burnt or dry, very moist and tender. The vodka sauce wasn't a show stopper. Definitely had butter in it. Rigatoni was Al dente (spelling?). The best way but they weren't filled too much. The marinara sauce was tasty. Not a sweet sauce, which I do not like. My husband had the beast. Two well seasoned burgers with a block of deep fried mozzarella between them. Obviously lo-cal..haha. It had marinara on the side and came with a Mexicali sauce. He had it in the side but really enjoyed it. Also a little side of coleslaw. Again very good. For dessert I wanted the red velvet cake but our waitress brought out peanut butter chocolate pie by mistake. We told her about it and said she was so sorry and to take it home and enjoy and brought out the red velvet. I am very peculiar about my red velvet, many have it on the menu but they do not taste like this one. It was moist, creamy and chocolately!! In the end, I would recommend. Two thumbs up. The menu had a lot of fish choices, pasta and steaks. A variety of burgers, sandwiches and pizza. Although there was a big selection of entrees I feel it wasn't overwhelming. The actual restaurant could use some updating. They have nice window seating but your overlooking a road. They looked like they had a huge bar but we didn't go in. Smaller drink menu but did have a martini on special. I wouldn't call this place a quick return to dine again but would visit again. It is a bit of a drive from Scranton. A pleasant surprise in the middle of nowhere. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out with plenty of wait staff. We went in a Sunday night and got the Sunday special- roast beef dinner for $14. It came with a salad. Excellent smashed potatoes and carrots. When we were done, we were told that the meal included ice cream , so we got the pumpkin ice cream which was delicious. Went there for dinner for a first date, was not impressed. Nobody in the place had a smile on their face. We sat down and they gave us our drinks. They ordered our food and then we never saw them again. Our glasses bottle of beer got emptied and never came back to the table she handed us the bill and we sat there probably 35 minutes waiting for and get it at the table, he ended up finally paying for it at the bar. I've been here twice, once with my wife and a second time with a larger group. The High Bridge has plenty of parking and is ADA accessible. The front dining area is very nice and the hostess is greeted us immediately and seated us right away. Drink order was take after just a few minutes and came out perfect. Our server was very pleasant and helpful assisting us with recommendations. The food was very good. The only slight downfall was the noise level but it wasn't too bad. I would definitely recommend the a high Bridge House. Just be care of the deer when traveling to or from the restaurant. read more

The decor is nothing spectacular (though I did like the large booths where we could spread out) but the food was good. We got the nacho appetizer which was delicious and huge! Three of us shared and there were still leftovers. I ordered the chicken Milanese, and it was delicious... the portion was big, and I wound up taking some home.
