Located in Downtown Scranton this charming little restaurant offers numerous vintage pinball and video game to enjoy as well as music. Certain nights and times are 21 and over be sure to check if that pertains to you.

There are so many restaurants like this in the Pittsburgh so seeing one back home was pretty cool. It was packed but we were seated right away. I got thejr crab goombies. Absolutely delicious and just enough food for me for the night. Our waitress was great, she was pretty spread thin though. But she handled it well.

Our server was John G. and he was awesome. I had the fried zucchini and mac 'n cheese. Delicious! My husband had the fried chicken and waffles. Very tasty. My son had the NBA JAMbalaya. Very good. We had a really nice experience here and would definitely come again. Who could resist great food and tons of video games with some good music thrown in.

Good spot in downtown to get beers, drinks, bar food, and play videogames and pinball. Service is good. Beer selection is good especially if you like sours and IPAs. Cocktails are ok, just lots of alcohol to fuel the masses. Food is decent. Lots of shareable apps. Fun.

Charlie's Chicken Sandwich and about three potatoes worth of fries.

I am somewhat surprised to see some of the negative reviews. I went to Bartari twice this past weekend and both times were great. Taylor was behind the bar and she mixed up one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had. So good in fact I had two. The staff was great fun. The food was plentiful and well priced. I can't think of a better experience for the price. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be back. The Chicken Sandwich was over the top and delicious.

If you're looking to book a party of more then 10+ people, don't do it. JP, the owners son, and manager said he would do chafing dishes. I called for a week to tell him which ones, I was told for six days he would call me back. I eventually showed up on Saturday and was told he was too busy planning and setting up a toy story pinball for his tournament the next day. I spent a half hour with the bartender talking about beer suggestions for towers the next day and tipped 50% on our bill to thank him. Sunday I call and am told he's busy dealing with a Halloween party and he'll call me later, eight hours later, we call and a day before the party at 8pm says he's no longer doing the chafing dishes for 40 people. We tried to call everyone and rearrange it for the SBC brewery or hatchet factory, but because we couldn't get everyone else we had about 25-30 people come. We wanted the chafing dishes for the ease of being able to get food without 10-15 plates shareable crowded on a table, with peoples dinner plates, and towers, the tables were so crowded servers didn't know where to put food. You know what solves that issue? Chafing dishes. Instead of making people walk up and down to three separate tables to find different food. The wings were horrible. We ordered 8 plates maybe? And six plates were left mostly uneaten. The moment you see them you know there burnt and overbreaded. Two of our guest said they bit into one and the breading was burnt, but the chicken was either undercooked or too soaked in grease so they physically got ill. The cupcakes came out on a dirty pizza tray, no sheet underneath, wtf? A party of 25-30 people show up and the manager avoids our table at all costs. He stared at the pinball tournament for hours at a table and avoided eye contact with us. Not once does he come to apologize for not following through with the chafing dishes. Not once does he come to check to make sure everything was okay on a table that ordered $800 worth of food and drinks. JP clearly demonstrated what his concerns are: money and his machines. If you're not a cabinet or pinball machine, he doesn't care. If you're spending money, he doesn't care about your experience, or the quality of his food. Bartari is still open because it has pinballs and cabinets, unique drafts, and an interesting/varying drink list. If there was any competition in the area it would be closed. The customer service of the JP is close to 0. The food ranges from subpar to inedible. It's equivalent of eating at Chuckee Cheese, all the wings were burnt and overcooked. The pizza is cheese and sauce on a half loaf of bread, it's the first thing your kids learn to cook when they're old enough to use the oven. This is not a place you go if you want good food, it's where you go for some cool games and drinks. Their tacos taste burnt, the ramen soup is sour. If you enjoy McDonald's and Burger King then you won't mind this food, but it's more likely McDonald's and Burger King won't burn it, or over bread it. Staff wise, Heather is a phenomenal server, one of the best in North East PA. She has a friendly personality, extraordinary customer service skills, she goes out of her way to make patrons feel welcome, and is the example of how the owners should treat their customers.

Lots of pinball (don't put quarters in Ghostbusters)

12/2/24 @ 1pm Fantastic beer selection! 20+ taps ready to go. Only one bartender/waiter working today, he hustled so hard, but definitely not enough to handle the customer flow. Steak and egg taco brunch were sub par. The steak was very dry, the flour tortilla was burnt black, and the side of potatoes sat in a pool of grease. Tried to play Ghostbusters pinball, and the machine wouldn't take my money/coins. Tried to play Star Wars arcade, and the controller/stick was so loose. It was impossible to aim. 3 arcade cabinets were off/not working. So much potential, but today did not live up to the expectations.

A lot of drinks on the cocktail menu included Gin and weren't really appetizing. The vibe wasn't very fun for an arcade bar. There were a lot of older arcade games and pinball machines. Over all it was okay, wouldn't go out of my way to visit again.

It's also worth noting that expecting a good pescatarian experience at a barbecue joint is more of a me problem. In terms of the space, it had a laid back feel. Not too fancy. Not fine dining level, but about what you would expect at a neighborhood bar. They did the job and conversed with various customers. In terms of food, everything was fine. I ordered the mahi mahi tacos with a side salad. The side salad was fine. Fresh ingredients. Well presented. The tacos were clearly presented with care, but it felt like they need a little more flavor. Maybe more slaw or some hot sauce on the side. They felt a little meh, even if the presentation was nice. I was between giving 3 and 4 stars. Service was slow but the venue was busy, there was an event, and the night crew was picking up when we were there. The buffalo chicken nachos were fine. We appreciated the crispiness of the tortilla chips and the excellent cheese sauce that was well-distributed on the chips. There was tomato among other veggies that I do not remember. The chicken was fine for me on a cut. However, it had the texture of boiled chicken which I wasn't a huge fan of. Still had to get my protein in. I really enjoyed the burger. The bun was a soft potato roll. The patty was a little cooler. Between a cold burger and soggy nachos I certainly would choose the cool burger. This was made up for with the large volume of burger that was deliciously crispy. The pickles accompanied the burger with a secret mayo-based burger sauce. If warm, it could be a 5/5 burger. Overall, the experience was fine. I would go here on a week day rather than 6 on Friday, though.

The food, however, is another story. The menu is large and varied and has some delicious appetizers (particularly the Bang Bang Srimp and the Crab Balls--addictive) and entrees too, but the very pricey stars of the menu leave much to be desired. The "Just Seafood" entree looks mouthwatering by description and costs forty effing dollars, but I'm being completely honest when I tell you everything on that plate was drier than a popcorn fart. The dish comes with shrimp, scallops, and lump crab meat. The best thing on the plate was the THREE scallops they provided. The crab was genuinely the worst, driest crab I've ever had. Worse than low-quality frozen snow crab at Red Lobster or the grocery store. The shrimp was overcooked and pathetically seasoned with a light sprinkle of paprika (which fell mostly on one shrimp and none of the others). I had to salt my own food at the table because everything was flavorless. All in all, if you're in Scranton because you like The Office, stop here and have some CHEAP starters and drinks, grab some cool Dunder Mifflin merchandise at the gift shop, and enjoy all the awesome art they have at Coopers.
