Visited here with my in-laws for an early mother's day celebration. My MIL was bummed we couldn't be seated in the covered patio area given they were fully booked with reservations that night. We ate in the main dining room which was fine by me. The dining room is spacious and the tables aren't right on top of each other which is nice. They do a good job of accommodating large parties since we saw several large groups there. I had two of the pomegranate mules throughout our meal and they were tasty. For appetizers, we shared the beer crab dip - it was good and a large portion. We also had the boneless wings in garlic parm - another big portion however they only allow 1 flavor per order which kinda sucks - 2 would be more fun. For my main, I tried the grilled ahi tuna. I really enjoyed my meal however it could have used extra teriyaki marinade - the drizzle on the second half of the dish was mostly on the mashed potatoes. The vegetables and wasabi mash were a great accompaniment to the dish. My husband enjoyed his blue burger and my MIL got the fish & chips which was gigantic - she brought a lot of it home. It's nice they include a side salad with the entrees and complimentary bread upon arrival. Service was generally good throughout the meal and the prices were reasonable. Let's see, the bar atmosphere is excellent, the food isn't worth the trip (trust me). The wait staff is wonderful, but I'm not sure who the women was a manager or a host, but let's be real about if there's 2hrs in between reservations and someone is late you don't need to come at them like a pit bull... 3 stars is a blessing for the quality of the food!!!!!! $300 for a party of 5 for sub-par food. Setting is like contemporary farm house, brown darker colors. There is a screened in porch and a back area where bands play. Semi fancy but not really Blue Shutters fancy. The food is pretty good, no salt shakers on the table so you have to trust the chefs will season accordingly. From the food I ate I'd say the chefs do a good job. "Could" leave the shakers on the table however as some items might need more salt than others. Had the short rib pappardelle and it was very good. Also had the stuffed long hots which were very tasty, not "too" spicy just spicy enough not to kill your taste buds. Finished the evening with the peanut butter landslide dessert thing, was a bit too small, could have been larger, but it was good too. A follow up visit my wife and I shared one of the Italian pizzas but added prosciutto. They skimped on the pieces but the pizza was pretty good. Had the lamb chop lollipops also which were very good, loved the parm sauce accompaniment. Service was good, the wait staff was very attentive and helpful. Food time was a little sluggish but that was fine since the first outing was a family one. Prices are mediocre to high but the menu is so vast it's possible to enjoy a meal that won't break the bank. While visiting the area, my family wanted a nice night out and that's exactly what we received. Having reservations, we were seated in a jiffy and Linda came by promptly to share some of the specials and to offer some insight into the menu. Drinks were brought straight away and we ordered some appetizers to start the meal off. All were very good including the calamari that was cooked perfectly. The only one we weren't wild about was the steamed clams- they were very sandy and went unfinished. The stuffed pork chop and the Chilean sea bass were excellent though and saved the meal. Our spot on the wrap around porch was perfect and the experience could only be made more perfect if we were on a lake or a river rather than the highway and parking lot. The restaurant is classy and well lit with plenty of different seating options that are sure to start one's weekend off right. Dress was better than casual but not over the top. While out of town, I stopped here to get dinner. When I arrived I parked in their lot. I walked into the restaurant, and the hostess asked if I wanted to sit at the inside or outdoor bar. I sat inside, and Lauren was my bartender, and she was great! I started with the Latin Lover Martin, and it was delicious! I finished with the lemon drop martini. For my meal I got the Chilean Sea Bas, and it was delicious with the smashed potatoes. I could of done without the green beans because it was hard. I had a good experience all in all! read more

We got our drinks an hour after getting there. My husband told the waitress he was allergic to eggs. She brought him out the tuna about 20 minutes later with a mayo based sauce!!!! She could've killed him! We trusted that she knew the sauce had eggs in it! Then I asked why our food was taking so long and she said it gets coursed out.... I said um, 2 hours?? The people next to us, got their food, ate and left before we even got a salad! when we finally got our food, one of us ordered crabcakes, plural! The plate came out with a pile of mashed potatoes and one crabcake that was less than a hockey puck size! He asked if there should be two crabcakes and while she was bringing another one out and said she was "debating on whether to eat it in the kitchen!" We finally had enough, asked for boxes and left! June 24th, 2021 Olde Brook Inn & Tavern Springbrook Twsp, PA Heralded as the best overall restaurant in this rather remote part of the Poconos, I confess to perhaps unreasonably high expectations. These seemed justified after reviewing the online menu and pics of various dishes... And after my first visit I'll reserve judgement on whether "the best in the area" should be ascribed to this restaurant, especially since I had only two(2) dishes and the Caesars Salad (which was excellent)... But I am hopeful. Here's why. The facilities are first rate, including an outdoor dining area. The staff is likewise excellent. Well trained, courteous and attentive, showing a genuine concern that one's dining experience is as fine as possible. The menu boasted a Magnaini Wood-fired Oven capable of reaching over 700 deg F. Having been raised in New York City & Brooklyn most of my life and having visited Naples Italy I couldn't resist the chance to see what the chef of the Olde Brook Inn did with this oven. So I ordered a pizza; half pepperoni half sausage. The menu also mentioned that provolone cheese was used as well as mozzarella. I couldn't wait. If you've ever tasted a pizza baked in a wood-fired oven, well, something wonderful happens to pizza dough in particular, and the whole pie in general. And this expectation was realized regarding the dough but fell short for the pizza overall. The sauce, the cheese(s) and the sausage. The pepperoni was very good. The sauce was a bit bland and the provolone that was added to the mozzarella didnt really do much for the final product. I must say that in this area of the Poconos, this pizza was one of the best. However I'm looking at the Olde Brook Inn through the eyes of someone who has a hope of finding a world class pizzeria being a seasonal resident here for over 30 years and being continually disappointed... But with a hopeful perspective, The Olde Brook Inn has that potential, if they would consider fine-tuning a couple of things regarding pizza. Normally I wouldn't presume to critique a professional chefs recipe but in the area of pizza, I feel comfortable given my experience and travel. And I hope this is taken in the spirit in which it is intended. Firstly, Pizza sauce. I can't say what's wrong only that its bland tasting. Perhaps a new recipe. Secondly, the cheese. It simply wasn't as tasty as I expected. OBI might consider baking just the dough for a minute or less. Then adding thinly sliced provolone to the surface. Then add sauce and mozzarella. As I said, the pepperoni was fine; a bit spicey as it should be. But the sausage left something to be desired. Enough about the pizza... Lastly the Meatballs Al Forne... They were not as tasty as I expected. They were ok but not what I hoped for from a restaurant of this caliber. They were heavy. And the sauce used really didn't help the overall taste much. They should have been lighter. Again OBI might consider mixing in a bit of beef flavored gelatin then cooking them on a grill before simmering them in sauce. Just a thought... In sum, my hopes remain high that the Olde Brook Inn will prove to be one of the best restaurants in the Poconos. Came here a few weeks ago on a warm Sunday afternoon and was happy to see the place as crowded as it could possibly be during these times. There's a very cozy, rustic feel to this place which I really liked. The menu featured some handheld items and then some entrees that were a little more on the elegant side which is my favorite kind of menu because that means you can come to the restaurant for a casual lunch or you can also make it a place to have formal dinner gathering. The french dip sandwich was out of this world- if a sandwich could be considered sexy this one would qualify... and then with the au jus and the horseradish dip that it came with I was honestly just in heaven. I reheated my other half in the oven for lunch the following day and it was just as good- the baguette didn't get soggy or anything! I definitely would like to return when I get the chance! PS. Last minute outing after plans changed. Slipped in on a Friday night to a jam packed parking lot. I took a chance for a seat at the bar and was pleasantly surprised to find a spot. I will say service was a wee slow however with smiles and kindness all around. While contemplating dinner I ordered the shrimp app which was very good. For dinner I ordered the filet and at $41 in todays market, very fairly priced It came out perfectly prepared and presented nicely as well. The flavor was excellent, potatoes mildly seasoned and veggies not over cooked! The meal was rounded off with rice pudding and espresso, equally as good as dinner. This place is charming! Definitely make reservations well in advance, as they seem to book up fast. My Mom and I were only able to snag a 5:00 reservation on the outdoor patio for a Saturday night. What am I, 80? Apparently, because by the time I sat down I was STARVED. Quick note before I get into the good good: the parking lot is all dirt/gravel. Hopefully they pave it soon but be forewarned, in my chunky wooden heels I nearly broke an ankle on the rocks. Besides that, though, the place is tasteful and I would totally have a bridal shower or rehearsal dinner here (which I said many times to my Mom during our meal). Love the outdoor patio, too, which is not so much outdoors as it is a screened in porch to help keep the bugs at bay (and also was a nice reprieve from the unrelenting sun). The food menu is overwhelming but exciting. There's something for everyone. I was craving a nice steak, but somehow settled on the french dip sandwich cause my Mom swore by it, and so happy I did. I live in South Philly, but this could hold a candle to some of the best in that area. Nice, soft fresh roll, juicy meat teeming in flavor, and a great au jus for dipping - plus addicting shoestring fries. I wasn't crazy about the horseradish sauce on the side, as I was hoping it would be less watery and more thick like an aioli, plus I actually don't even love horseradish flavor, so to each his own I guess. We started with the lightly fried calamari, which was delicious and just the right portion. Also had some big ole' fat glasses of red wine, which I love (sometimes you need a sturdy base if you're prone to spillage like me). Our server was friendly enough but also seemed a bit disinterested. Right after we ordered, I heard a different server thoroughly explain to her table all the specials they had for the night. We weren't told ANY specials, and I love specials, so I was disappointed and also confused why our server didn't even offer them - unless we're supposed to ask if there's specials, which seems unlikely. I overheard the other server say "watermelon feta salad" so we had to flag down ours and ask her if we could have it. I was happy we ordered it though cause it was so delicious - super fresh and topped with pistachios and pink peppercorn for an added crunch/flavor. Just ignored our presence as if we were some ally trolls. The teenage waiters would also stare and point at us. Second visit here in the last couple of months. There's a lot to like here. The back indoor patio area is well thought out. we are not crazy about indoor dining these days but the open air nature of the space and the distance between the tables made us feel more comfortable. Website says outdoor dining but we didn't see an outdoor dining area. I'm guessing that they can open up the patio windows and leave it as a screened in area during the warmer months? Food wise, everything was good. Not great by any means but good. We shared a couple of appetizers. Meatballs and Ahi tuna. Staff wise, everybody was great. Employees are masked up. Server and bartender were pleasant and helpful. Very good experience overall. The only other thing I would note is that it's a little pricey. This place got busy fast. Food a little pricey. The menu offers steak, sea bass, lamb chop. everything cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning but overly salted. Cloth napkins. Atmosphere dark. Just bright enough to read the menu but with some strain. Wait staff very attentive and friendly. Music was late 70s early 80s ( billy Joel, etc). Families welcomed. Children were eating there. Some were getting trays of pizza for supper. Although they do serve burgers, wings and pizza, this does not have a bar feel. You could dress up and go here and not feel out of place but most people dressed casual (jeans). Friend of mine goes here for the burgers. This would be a nice place to celebrate a special occasion. Higher end American food. Although the food was good (but overly salty) nothing on the menu was bold and new/ no risky flavor combination. For some people they're going to like that. Husband enjoyed the food but he likes simple. Salt and pepper is enough for him. Sometimes that's all most food needs anyway. We recently went to Bank and Vine (also higher end but eclectic) where the cook made some interesting choices. I didn't care for Bank and Vine flavour combinations of the food but appreciated the risk. Dinner for two ( two appetizers, two entrees, one dessert, no alcohol) is going to set you back about $50-100. For an old inn, it's clean but not quaint. Old lighting fixtures. This is a nice and cool place to come for some above average outdoor seating. The food is always good and the service is there. You have to get a reservation for weekends and there may be a lot of large family parties but its a fun place to be. I haven't had the pizza yet but the burgers are always good. I have been meaning to write a review for this place for quite a while. We've been coming here for about two years now and, in all of that time, we have never once had a bad meal or experience. The entire place is laid out so that there are many options for your dining style. There's a cozy bar in the front of the house you can sit at, an elegant dining room, a large, patio-style dining area, and a sports bar type "almost outdoor" bar. (I hear there's another bar downstairs but I haven't ever been there.) With all of those seating options, you can't lose and, even at the busiest time, we've only had to wait a few minutes for our table (reservations recommended on weekends for sure, though). The meals are phenomenal. The chef is clearly tops in the area and the specials keep the menu new and interesting. It took us several visits before we ever got beyond ordering appetizers because they're all sooo good, but when we did, oh! (I suggest the Chilean sea bass!) The appetizers and the wood-fired pizzas are mouth-watering and quite large which is why we sometimes just sit at the bar and order several of those. The service is fantastic as well. We have gotten to the point where we always request Stephanie (not sure if I spelled that right) because she's so much fun and one of the best we've ever had anywhere. I don't think I've ever known the name of a waitress at a restaurant before; that's how much of an impression she makes! But the bartenders, hosts, and bussing staff are all wonderful as well! I've been to the Olde Brook Inn many times. It used to be better. I really want to like this place because it's so nice. The outside porch/patio is a really nice spot to relax. However the past few times we've been to the Old Brook Inn the food hasn't been great. This past Saturday was downright terrible. Sadly I think we have to give up on the Old Brook Inn. The food is just not good. We ordered a shrimp cocktail and 4 oysters for an appetizer. The oysters were fresh and very good. The Shrimp cocktail on the other hand tasted like it was pre made and sat in a cooler for several days. It was edible but you can tell it wasn't freshly made. The cocktail sauce had absolutely no taste. For entrees we ordered a NY Strip steak and Chicken Parm. The chicken parm was just ok. Not good and not bad. The chicken had a slightly odd texture. I ordered the NY Strip steak medium rare. I cut into the steak and it was completely raw. The steak wasn't even rare - I think I may have been able to eat some of it if it was rare. The roasted potatoes it was served with were cold and also not cooked in the center. The entire dinner was a disaster and sent back. Our waitress was incredibly nice throughout the ordeal. The manager was also pleasant and offered drinks/other food. We passed on any additional food explaining to him this wasn't the first time we've had a bad experience but it certainly was the worst. We are really disappointed in the Old Brook Inn. It's a very nice place and convenient to the house. It's a shame their kitchen staff are incompetent. read more

If you do have a large group and you want to order off the main menu ask for separate tables. One of the people in our group called a few times to change numbers for our reservation. The person never told us it would be a limited menu with a large group, until we actually arrived the waitress told us. Food was ok but pricey. Wife had a glass of wine and it wasn't even a full pour, about 4-5 ounce, Very little in the glass. None of us were satisfied with food or the service. Probably won't be going back anytime soon. The only thing that was probably good was my son's burger. We were wishing we were able to order off the kids menu. The limited menu pretty much only offers specialty pizza and starters. They did offer the lollipop lamb meal instead of the starter, but the lamb was served well done and a little dry. Not the proper way to serve lamb. We didn't want to send the food back because the waitress seemed like she didn't want to be bothered. Maybe she was having a bad day. Who knows. On a road trip. Found on yelp. Started with a cucumber mule ... refreshing and under $10. App was a squash blossom ... special that day ... corn meal crusted, stuffed with ricotta and fried perfectly. Followed by scallops for me and crabcakes for Craig. Crabcakes (2) were of a very good size and excellent flavor with right amount of filling. Scallops were the app portion for my meal and served on a bed of cream corn with bacon, a nice compliment to the scallops. Added a NY style cheesecake with raspberry sauce - just right. I am not from the area, We have a company function. After a long day of meetings we ate here with most of our co-workers. Let me start by saying it wasn't hard to get to and plenty of parking. Plenty of people. Looks very popular. They have a side and back deck that was hopping for a Wednesday night. I met my co-workers. We ordered drinks which came right away. Just note if you like sweet wine like I do. The Riesling and moscato are not really too sweet. A bit disappointing. We got a varied handful of appetizers to start. They were all pretty good. Here is where it went down hill. We were a table of 10. The server was attentive. But the service was deathly slow. We ordered dinner and it took more than 45 mins to get it. Like they wanted us to continue to drink to make the bill higher. As a matter of fact the "manager" came by to apologize for the delay. Didn't offer anything to us. But took more orders for drinks. I got the filet $36 it should have been outstanding. It was very dry, and my roasted potatoes were overcooked and there were about 7 potatoes wedges on my plate. That's it. Very disappointing presentation and plate for that money. My co-worker got the truffle mushroom pizza. No truffles or truffle oil as mentioned. Just a dry cracker like pizza. We were all kinda perturbed about the experience and ate then left. I have no I interest in going back for the food. Maybe to sip tea on the deck. But that's it. Very pleasant and top notch service. Got some drinks and we were presented with a delicious appetizer of mixed roasted veggies and a poached egg. Compliments of Chef Gino Ciprian, a true master of his craft. Definitely an asset to the restaurant. There were 5 of us in our party and all of our entrees were cooked perfectly and delicious.
