They had one server who was in the weeds. I ordered macaroni salad and it was awful... tasted like the macaroni sat in cold water until they needed to add mayo to it. This restairant in located in the Hilton Hotel & conference Center on Adam's Ave. After a long 12 drive to the area, it was too late to go out so we decided to eat here. I am not normally a fan of hotel restaurants but I have to admit, this was was really good. I had the orancia salad and added grilled chicken If cam in a large cylindrical bowl and it was absolutely delightful for a late, light dinner! Full of candied walnuts and chunks of bue cheese and dried berries... the salad dressing was citrus, and the mixed bany greens were fresh and crisp. Just perfect! Hubby had the burger, which was ok, and we thought it was going to be a handmade burger, but this looked processed. The bun, lettuce, and tomato were fresh and tasty. The fries were excellent as well. Hubby enjoyed the heck outta those fries! Our server Zack was the best. He was so kind and attentive. He really made us feel at home and that we were not a bother so late at night. He was awesome! read more

What a nice surprise. Usually hotel restaurants are fair at best, but I was so pleased with this one! We ordered the shrimp Mac & Cheese and a corned beef and cabbage special. Both were great. They change their specials weekly. This week had a bunch of Irish specialties--shepherds pie and corned beef among them. They have a very nice drink menu. I had a great Cabernet Sauvignon and my husband had a Yuengling and also a double bourbon. The whiskey menu is extensive! I think their board has about 50 different selections on it. We got a taste of one of their margaritas and it was quite nice. They recently began to run a margarita menu that was just released. It has multiple tequila choices, different flavors and can choose frozen or on the rocks. Service was slow to start, but fortunately the folks working the restaurant cover for each other and we were able to get menus before we saw our server. Once our server came back from wherever she had been, we had very good service. The atmosphere is casual and quite dark at night. If you tend to be sensitive to cold, bring a jacket or sweater as it's a pretty open area, and tends to be cool. We enjoyed our dinner here and I recommend trying it out. Prices were fine. Dinners were in the range of $16-$25. read more

Delicious food! I wasn't super hungry so only got 2 appetizers but they were both 11/10, no complaints on the roasted cauliflower nor the shrimp cocktail. My best friend got the buffalo chicken wrap and really liked it as well. I stole some of her fries which were really yummy as well heheh... food was really fast as well despite it being St Patty's weekend. read more

I was hoping to have good food. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak. The meat was charred in some spots. The bread was soggy. That's what makes any good cheesesteak. I upcharged my chips to fries. I've never had such horrible fries. It tasted as if they were cooked in a microwave. I won't be going back to this establishment. read more

Zack is the best server !! The food is surprisingly good for a hotel. Great service from Zack which is what I think made the experience.

We arrived at the Hilton Scranton around 9 p.m. tired and starving -- nearly all of the restaurants in the area were closed for the night, except P.J.'s in the hotel lobby. I was skeptical, but at this point I would have eaten my own arm. We ordered the mozzarella sticks (more like half circles) as an appetizer, which were nicely fried with a flavorful mozzarella filling. The Caesar salad was nothing special, but it was large enough that I didn't mind the lackluster taste. The pub burger and fries stole the show. The burger was perfectly cooked, sandwiched between a glistening brioche bun with a slice of Swiss (?) cheese. The fries were lightly fried, which allowed the taste of the delicious potatoes to shine. The one waitress serving the (relatively small) restaurant was kind, funny and attentive. And at 10 p.m., that no doubt required a significant amount of mental strength. If you find yourself in Scranton late at night on a weekday, P.J.'S has you covered. read more

We stayed at the motel, and decided we would try PJ's. There is something broke in this place. The service is incredibly slow. On Thursday, we figured it was just busy. On Friday, we noticed that the wait-people were busy, when you saw them... but they spend more time away from the customer area than in it... like 75% of the time! We struggled to even find someone to complain too! Plan on 30 minutes for first drink, another 30 to order. If you are lucky, another hour before the check comes. Don't even ask simple questions like soup of the day... that'll cost you 20 minutes to find out. Food was good once it showed, coffee was tepid, and thankfully I had no desire for another drink or dessert... there are only so many hours on the day! Oh, and they added 20% gratuity for this terrible service, even for only 2 people! They not only soured is on this restaurant, but we will be looking for a better venue for our convention. Ugh!!!!! Not cozy, not good.. No decor. No service. Like being at a wedding that none of the guests showed up. Supposedly fully booked but out of the 100 10 tops they had. 6 were only full at any given time and yet still unable to accommodate a smaller table. Great food with an awesome and friendly waitstaff! We dinned here last night and were totally blown away by the quality and freshness of the food. While the atmosphere is your typical hotel bar the food make PJ's a food destination. We enjoyed everything we ordered and would gladly return here if we were ever passing through Scranton again. The salmon for fresh and perfectly cooked. The steak was juicy and came with potato wedges that were out of this world. The Cesar salad was a fun innovative grilled romaine salad that was right on par with dishes you would find in downtown NY City. PJ's had a few craft beers on tap and a small but adequate wine list. For desert we split an apple tart that was a great way to end an awesome meal. Keep this place in mind if you are looking for a quality meal at a decent price in Scranton! read more

1 star for very slow service at a high top, which would probably been much better at the bar, which was staffed by a highly attentive barkeep. It took 40 minutes to get two salads. Food gets 3 stars for a mixed bag. Onion soup was very good as was the beet salad (that was supposed be baby kale, but was made with baby spinach instead). The wedge salad was gross. Nice wedge and dressing, but also a gray, thick slab of bacon that was at lest a day old and a brownish green sliced avocado had no business being on the plate. Add microwaved rolls that became hard as a rock when they cooled. Anyway, probably a serviceable place if your at the hotel and can be served by the bartender. read more
