Last time 5 stars, this time 2-3. What happened? Probably should avoid wing night (Tuesday) due to it being busy and pre-cooked wings. Unfortunately, our order tasted old, like maybe from the weekend. We ate 12 of the 15 wings. Sauce was light but the crisp was excellent. Last time the wings were perfect. A little bigger than I prefer (Kelly's are the perfect size for me), but not jumbo size. Sauce and crispiness on point. Still love this place, but we'll sample another of my old wing haunts the next few times we are in town before returning here. Too many good places to pass or just go to our favorite spot. Scranton Parade Day 2025: against my better judgment, I went down to visit family friends who were there earlier in the day for a family friendly fun and lunch. The bar opened at 11 AM, and their biggest seating area had reserved signs on it. Reserved seats on the biggest foot traffic day of the year! To make matters even better, nobody even came to sit at the table until an hour and a half later at 12:30. I can fully admit that my position has shifted a little bit as the food was very good and the service was very prompt (1 star is now 3 stars) But, having to squeeze seven people into a four person high top table when there was 16+ seats available for over 90 minutes is just another item of ridiculous decision-making I don't understand. read more

Mickey Gannon's is a perfect example of a pub. It's everything you could want from a small neighborhood watering hole. The beer is cold, the food is good, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. Tuesday is wing night and usually gets very crowded very quickly, but most any other night you wander in, find a seat at a table or a bar and settle in for a night of conversation and great bar fare. The best wings in Scranton, bar-none. They are always crispy and the hot sauce has a sweetness to it; just a basket of greatness every time you order. That being said; they don't come quickly. You need to plan ahead and order your wings almost as soon as you sit down, but they are well worth the wait. (They also have one of the best burgers in town, also) The prices are just about what you expect at a bar, and the parking can sometimes be a situation, but the bar itself and the food they serve are top flight and just cannot be beat. Glad they reopened after being shut for a while. Wings have gotten much more consistent and are easily some of the best in Scranton. No longer "cash only" but does a surcharge for credit cards AND a pretty hefty $3 bleu cheese/celery charge for wing orders. read more

I have been coming here for nearly 20 years now. I started as a tike coming for burgers and wings with my parents. Now as an adult I still return on a regular basis for a pint and an order of wings and fries. The set up is... lets just say a little off. As you enter the front of the bar you will see an average size bar area with a 3-4 tables of to your left and another tucked in the right corner by the bar. The odd part will be right in front of you. There is kind of a small "island." it is more or less a 12 x 2 lacquered over and a few bar stool to sit on. You can see one or two groups of people hanging out here. It is kind of a communal rest while you are waiting for a seat at the bar or a table to open up. If you take a turn to your left you will open into another room. There are several booths spitting the two rooms and as you enter the far room, more tables for your dining pleasure. Again you will see something out of the ordinary. And old bar agains the far wall. Not so strange you may say. Well this bar has long sense ben abandoned my it's tender, and now serves as a seating area for patrons. You make take up a chair at either side of the bar. Now on to the food. The wing here is King. The best in the city by my reckoning. Cook to the perfect about of crispy without frying it to a crisp. For company I personally order some french fries with a side of blue cheese for the dipping of these starch delights. To wash it all down I'll order a Lager pint. To be specific, for any out of towners reading this. "Lager" here in The NEPA refers to a Yeingling Lager. On to the staff! They have ben at this a long time, and know how to treat a customer. The proper way. If they seem to not be getting your next drink right away, it's because this place gets busy. And if it isn't, I have been know to look to my left and have a full frosty beverage sitting there without me even knowing it was once emptied. For the decor. It is a nice Irish pub! Down to the hard wood bar and tables. There are dozens of figurines on high shelfs. These figurines are caricatures of celebrities throughout time. And depending on the holiday at hand, they can be found dressed in a festive manor. To wrap this all up. Mickey Gannon's is on the top of my list, and it should be on yours too! read more

This is it. The best bar restaurant in Scranton. There is nothing unique/unusual on the menu just really tasty bar food. For my money these are the BEST hot wings in towns. Cold beer, good food, pleasant staff. My only complaint is that sometimes the place gets swamped because so many people know and love this place. read more

Food is solid. But over $20 for 15 wings and an order of fries is CRAZY for Scranton PA. This is a top 5 wing place in NEPA, but it's gonna be a while before I return due to price gouging. I know chicken has increased across the board- but this is insanity. read more

It's a small town pub with the same decor as they have had for 20 years. Their wings are the best baked wings you could ever ask for and we also recommend the pierogies, and Caesar garlic fries are a staple. It's a greasy spoon but the best I've ever had. I have been coming here for over 10 years. The wings are simply the best. Always cooked to the perfect crispiness. The sauce is always good. They put just the right amount on the wings. Never to much so they are drowning, and not to little so you are wondering where the sauce is. My wife and I also get the home made nachos. Never disappointing. All in all we just love the place. This is my favorite go to spot for wings. They are crispy and not overly saucy. If you get a mixed drink they use cans of soda instead of from a gun and I think that's awesome. Its a local place and gets busy on wing nights. They are cash only, which is the only downfall. read more
