Marianacci's is an absolute hidden gem. It is the kind of place you go and you can't wait to come back to. The restaurant is run by siblings who are absolutely amazing, and cultivate such a warm, inviting, family vibe. It makes you feel so cozy. The food is absolutely incredible, and all of the pasta is homemade. You can taste the love they put into their food! The best thing I've ever had is the creamy pesto sauce over gnocchis and I always love their eggplant tower! Also they have an amazing rotating selection of seasonal cocktails that are absolutely divine. And Alyssa is an amazing bartender! I've eaten here on three (3) separate occasions and tried the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, another Alfredo dish, and the homemade gnocchi. Unfortunately, none of the experiences were good. Each time, the food was disappointing. We always ordered takeout, and the noodles were consistently stuck together and kind of runny. The gnocchi was especially unpleasant, the sauce tasted sour and off, which completely ruined it. Comparing the sizes of the gnocchi as well, you can go somewhere else and get bigger pieces for the same price or less. While the pricing is pretty standard for similar places, the quality just doesn't justify it. The food simply doesn't taste good. I am from the Valley. Grew up going to Marianacci's. My Dad knew Ticy!! I was in town for a wedding. Landed in Wilkes Barre. Rented my car... first stop ( before my hotel) was... Marianacci's. It was a Friday night . I walked into the bar... it was wide open. Was happy for that as I'm by myself and like eating at the bar. I went to sit down and was told it was reserved. Never actually have come across every seat at the bar reserved. But bartender was kind enough to say as long as I'm out by 7:30.. j vouch c take up a spot. So I did. Ordered a wine and the cannelloni. Dear God ... it was absolutely incredible. Honestly the portion... huge. Came with a salad. Perfect. Staying with family visiting and wanted a place close by. Family said they enjoyed eating here so have it a shot for our 20th anniversary as we don't need to go all out and be crazy, just wanted a good meal. Sat at the bar and enjoyed some specials. $5 glasses of wine and some pasta dishes for $9. My husband got the chicken Marsala (not on special) and loved it! He enjoyed the heavy sauce vs it being watered down like some places. He also had the calamari and said it was good. I myself enjoyed red wine, arancini and cheese stuffed ravioli with a vodka sauce. Everything was cooked well and had good flavor. Big portion size for the pasta and a great price! Waitress at bar was amazing. Very attentive and friendly. Her mom (Nona) makes some of the desserts, so will have to go back one day for wine and dessert! Only saw the bar area and outside but appearance it was nice and clean. Husband and I both ate at Marianacci's restaurant today, 10/18/25. We waited over an hour to get our food. Our appetizer never arrived. My husband's food was good but I ordered chicken and shrimp franchise and my franchise food came in a large plate of chicken soup & lemon juice but no wine. The chicken was not in an egg batter of any kind. There was no shrimp as described in the menu. When I brought it to the attention of our blond waitress that the shrimp was not on the plate, she brought me a little bowl with shrimp in it. No, complimentary bread was placed on our table but it was placed on everyone else's tables. At the end of the night, just as we left, she gave us a bill and she overcharged us. I don't think that we will go there again or recommend it. read more

Took 45 mins for our food to come and just overall wasn't very good :( chicken was cold; tasted as if it was made and set aside. We did come around 8 so maybe it was because they were closing soon. Everything was incredible down to the last detail! We enjoyed a wide selection of beer and cocktails, along with a delicious chicken bite appetizer. Classic Italian music played in the background, setting the perfect romantic and classy vibe. The cappelletti soup and "the best Caesar salad my wife ever had" were a hit. We went for the Tuesday special, which was a homemade Italian sampler for two--lasagna, ravioli, and chicken parm. The pasta was unbelievably delicious and authentic, with huge portions we couldn't even finish. Very reasonably priced, which is rare these days. Our waitress was delightful and fun, and the manager coming out to check on everything was a classy and cool touch. This place clearly has a lot of love for what they do, and it shows! Everything I've ordered tasted awful. Service was good. It was gorgeous on the inside and out, despite the bad view. Way too pricey. I went there twice in the past few months and was able to try 3 different things (entrees) that should be very basic for an Italian American restaurant to make. Gnocchi: The gnocchi itself was decent. I can compare it to 3 different places I've had it, and it definitely was one of them. Average in taste as far as a gnocchi tastes. The cheese sauce and fix-ins were just an awful combination. I understand what they were going for (salty sweet), but it just came across as gross (to me). It did make me like gnocchi, however. It was the first time I ever had it. It was also way too expensive for such a cheap meal. Pizza: Don't get it. If it wasn't a shell, I would be shocked. The dough was practically cardboard. The sauce was bland and didn't seem like it belonged on pizza. The cheese was even tasteless. There was practically no seasonings on it, and the table seasonings couldn't even save it (the tables lack oregano as well, which is odd). It was as hard as can be and hurt to bite into it. My son hurt his mouth trying to eat it. He only ended up eating the cheese off of it. He likes pizza and isn't picky about it. So for him to not eat it is bad. Expensive for how cheap it felt. Lasagna: Again, too expensive for what it is. Lasagna is cheap; it's a giant batch meal that you can make at home. Why is it nearly 20 dollars? I understand inflation as an excuse, but you can feed a 5 person family with that amount of money with an entire lasagna and have leftovers. It tasted like nothing special. The only reason this place has a 2 was due to great servers and being nice on the inside. That's it. The food was bad and overpriced. I went here about 11 years ago when I was in college and was blown away with how good it was. It made me never forget the name. I finally get to eat it again (twice), and it ruined every image I had of the place. But hey. It's pretty. read more

Three of us were returning from a service and stopped here before the long drive home. The waitress was friendly but the food didn't really leave any of us very happy. Everything was dry or burn, very little flavor unfortunately. I was told that there was an ownership change at some point because the locals I told about my experience were surprised because when they used to go there, the experience was very different. A man introduced himself to us as the old owner and he had a lot of pride in his voice about the place and the food. Went there last night. Waitress was super bitchy & was freaking out when we had to separate the checks (before even ordering, did this to prevent an issue). Literally one other table when we got there at 7:30 NOTE they don't close till 9:00 on Friday. Turned music off at 8pm, we sat their in complete silence listening to everyone in the kitchen. Waited nearly 2 hours for our food (just about closing time) was rushed to eat & rushed to get out of there. My fiancé and I used to frequent this place pretty often but within the last year or so, it's really gone down hill. They must have changed the recipes, ownership or chef. Our most recent and LAST trip was bad. The scampi used to be our favorite and now it just tastes like straight lemon water. The cappelletti soup is different as it now appears to just be bouillon cubes in water. The cavatelli with broccoli is absolutely disgusting. Cavatelli was pure mush, in a pool of straight oil with no flavor, and very sparse broccoli. They also changed the menu around a bit and got rid of certain dishes. We ordered a tray of red, and a half if white. I was told pick it up at twenty after, they handed the order to me at quarter of. They did apologize and were very polite. The white was burnt beyond be etabal. The red was well done. Not burnt but definitely well done. The red was bland and has some onions on it. We ordered both with no onion. Ordered appetizer of cheesy garlic bread that took way too long to come out and then it was burned when we received it. I ordered chicken francaise that had very little chicken and it looked like soup. There was so much liquid, the rice was floating! A few weeks ago, my friend and I went to the restaurant. We both ordered Lasagna, after waiting 45 minutes for our food it was cold. Last week we thought we would give them a try again. I ordered Chicken Parmagiana and my friend ordered Gnocchi . Chicken was paper thin and stiff as a board. Again, waited a long time to be served and again it was barely room temperature. My husband and I go here every so often for date night. The last time was the absolute worst. I ordered Eggplant Parmesan and I got Stuffed Eggplant. Problem is I don't like ricotta cheese. The waitress said my dish isn't available anymore and since we waited an hour and a half for the wrong dish we opted to pack my husband's dinner to go. The owner/manager came over to apologize and take the my meal off the bill. When we got the bill he took my meal off but charged for the soup that CAME WITH the dish... the same dish I didn't eat. I called the owner over and said it was crazy to charge me for the soup when it comes with the dish that I didn't eat because they screwed up the dish. He actually said to me "well you ate the soup right" and was extremely condescending with his mannerisms and attitude. Couldn't believe an owner would treat customers like that. Iv'e been going here for over 20 years and never had service like this. Could have been such an easy fix if he didn't charge for the soup the dish came with and treated us with a little respect. Brought some clients here for lunch as they chose the establishment. Ordered the lasagna which came with a small salad. The salad was fresh but came with bottled dressing. Lasagna was good but very small. It also came with two small meatballs (which was not listed on the menu). The meatballs seamed homemade but were very tough and I needed a knife to cut them. Service was a bit inattentive considering the place had only two other occupied tables. On a side note the bathroom was filthy with mildew on the sink caulking. read more

This is probably one of the worst restaurants I have ever ate at. First of all, all of the waitresses were ancient and didn't know how to do their job. Our waitress did the bare minimum and hardly ever came to check on us. We were waiting so long for our take out food it took like 40 minutes, we were sitting at our table doing nothing and our waitress never came to see how we were doing when we needed stuff. My wife and I stopped here recently on our return from A.C. and found a down-home neighborhood italian restaurant that reminded me of my favorite italian restaurant in Mount Carmel, PA It's a family restaurant attached to a neighborhood tavern. Don't go for the decor but do go for the flavor. I had Fettuccine Carbonara and the wife had veal marsala. Both were awesome. Fresh pasta with fresh proteins (I add chicken to mine) in apparent house-made sauces. We were there during off-times but the service was really good. It was well worth the side-trip. Not sure what the guy from Chicago is talking about but if there's italian food out there that's 5 times better than this then he's been blessed indeed. A true family owned and operated restaurant. Everything is prepared fresh and home made, nothing from a box! It's a great little place, with the old style decor(orange formica tabletops), nothing fancy. The added side room is nice for large groups or private parties. I love the chicken sciampi and the pizza. LOVE the bruschetta! Salads are basic. Main courses are very generous servings, we always end up taking home left overs. They do nice menu's for Mother's Day and New Year's Eve. Make your reservations early. You really can't go wrong with anything here...when in doubt order the specials! read more

Ordered take out for the first time last night. We only live a few streets away and can walk to this restaurant if we wanted to. Well, we don't want to. Probably ever again. We ordered the eggplant parm (comes w/soup or salad and is $16.95) and gnocchi w/meatballs (also comes with soup or salad and is $15.95). If you don't choose the soup of the day then the soup is actually an additional $1.95 and they only fill the soup containers half way. The soup for an additional $1.95 only had three tortellini in it. The gnocchi portion was super small and my boyfriend loves good homemade gnocchi, but these were not good at all. The meatballs were the smallest we've ever seen. The eggplant was actually good, but you would think it would come with a side of pasta for $16.95, right?? Who wants to only eat eggplant. Very strange. They also included 4 pieces of bread. I can definitely make better food at home instead spending $40 on so-so Italian food. The prices were very steep for the quality and for what they give you. We'd actually rather go across the 8th Street bridge to Cafe Italia (even with their horrendous service). read more

Always our family favorite! Their homemade pasta and sauce is so worth the drive from Harrisburg! When I go home to visit family, I generally eat at Marianaccis at least 2-3 times and/or a take out! Uncle Freddie's homemade bread is to die for before dinner! Alissa makes the best Ruby Red Martini while I'm chatting at the bar. And aunt Patty's pies are the best to ease my sweet tooth cravings.
