First and foremost, especially for the out-of-towners, THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY. Yes they have an atm but you should know this before you walk in, unlike myself. With that said this still should've been a five star experience if not for a couple tiny hiccups. First off, I started off drinking at their bar and bottle shop across the parking lot. In fact, I was going to get a pizza over there, except I wanted to be all healthy and get a salad as well, which was not offered on the limited, pizza and snacks only menu available at the bottle shop. I closed my tab and walked across the parking lot only find a very interesting set up of a to go area very much separated from a sit down only restaurant. Quickly figured out I need to be in the to go area, where I was able to get a draft beer while I waited for my pizza and salad to go. Luckily I asked for a min to settle my tab as I wanted a can to take with me, at which point I found out about the cash only aspect. Last part of slight disappointment resided in the fact that they let me sit there with an empty glass without telling me my pizza was ready, until I finally went to the counter and they asked if I was ready to go. Uh yeah I was actually. By the time I go back to the hotel 14 minutes away, the pizza had gotten cold and required reheating. Fortunately, it was good enough that even with the reheat, revealed itself to be one hell of a pizza. Subtract another fraction of a point for not putting any plastic silverware for my salad. Welcome food believers to another review video. Today I am at Sabatini's Pizza in Exeter Pa where I ordered a cup of chili which has a little spice to it, it was a meaty chili where even though it had a little bit of heat behind it, their chili is delicious. Now I also ordered their cauliflower crust pizza with the veggie toppings, they have an amazing cauliflower crust, but I have learned you have to eat it there, unlike the regular crust. As you can see this pie was packed full of those healthy vegetables. The crust was nice and thin, normally I am not a crust person, but I like how sab's does there's. Whether it's a plain or specialty pie sab's pizzas are simple and delicious. They are a cash only place with an ATM on sight. Definitely recommend if you have never been here before. Great NEPA pizza spot! My family usually gets their regular pie with onions, but the last time a bunch of us went and some tried the pickle pizza- they raved about it and said what a unique find! And I tried the buffalo chicken pizza- I loved it! The beer selection is extensive, IPAs, lagers, stouts, ales from around the country and world. They have even more for sale. We Drive up from Allentown, PA on a weekend ( 1 hour drive ) about every 6 weeks to visit relatives and get pizza / refreshments. We like our pizza with extra sauce and this place provides a perfect pizza every time! The beer selection is fantastic and the bourbon selections are second to none. The young lady who waits on our table is great! Can't wait to go back in mid April. Only constructive feedback is the seats at the tables. You are sitting on a metal chair / metal frame. . Really cool casual place to get a lengthy menu of different beers from craft, seasonal, and specialty. The outdoor patio is a good choice when the weather permits but the indoor has a dark, woodsy and intimate feel even though the place is rather large. Enjoy pizza from their restaurant next door or just drinks. This place is 21 up only (if I'm not mistaken) and also has a large selection of brews you can purchase to take home. Service is always great. I ordered the Italian Greyhound which is a martini and contrary to the typical greyhound they add some elderflower liquor, absinthe and an orangey gin. I don't really ever write bad reviews as I think it's often one sided and doesn't show the whole picture. However, my experience with Sabatini's was so distasteful I felt I had to. My daughter is turning two and loves pizza. We decided to book her birthday party at Sabatini's in their back room. We first called and spoke to Jay to get information on minimums and all the details. We called him back the next day and confirmed. He told us there was no further communication needed until a day or two before hand. Today, we are 8 days out from her party and decided to call once more to confirm as we already have our final count and wanted to get a cost estimate since parties are cash only. Upon calling they told us we were not booked and that they had another party booked. The same guy speaking to us acted like he had no idea what happened and had no recollection of speaking to us. Despite us knowing his name and all the previous details we spoke about. Basically we got the boot with no solution. I have 45 people RSVP'd with invites made and no backup. Mistakes happen and I believe in human error. But there was a sense of arrogance in what felt like them trying to pull one over and pin this mistake on us. This ended with the owner saying we were mistaken and his employee has worked with him for 20 years and has never made a mistake. I'm not sure how one would even respond to a claim like that. read more

Recently we had a big family party and we got a big order for take out. The pizzas were ready right on time and the order was 100% correct. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I've always gone to the bottle shop for beverages but never went to the restaurant until this weekend. Pizza was good, unique. We went with light sauce on a cheese and then regular sauce with half mushrooms. The light sauce or extra cheese would definitely be how I'd order in the future. The sauce has a semi sweet taste which I do like. Ambiance... when I walked in I was kind of shocked how the more "modern" exterior doesn't really match the interior. I had a great experience at Sabatini in Trastevere! If you are looking for a classic Roman meal in a beautiful setting, Sabatini is the place to be. With its option of outdoor seating, I was able to eat right in the center of Piazza di Santa Maria, watching the crowded streets and viewing a gorgeous fountain in front of an even prettier church. The food was fairly standard. I would say the meal met my expectations, but didn't exactly exceed them. I ordered Tonnarelli cacio e pepe -- a dish I order often at many different restaurants in Rome. The meal was super flavorful, creamy, and had just the right amount of pepper. The pasta could've been a little more firm, given that cacio e pepe is traditionally cooked al dente, but overall it was really tasty and consistant in each bite. This restaurant achieved an aestetic vision of an old-school and elegant setting. Red chair cushions pop out against the white table cloths. It feels a little fancy but still relaxed. This meal helped me understand how simple some of the dishes are in Italian food culture. Just pasta, cheese, and pepper was able to be prepared deliciously for my cacio e pepe meal. I also can see how important the location is, as I am sure this restaurant's popularity is credited to its outdoor area that allows customers to feel as though they are not missing out on the excitement of the night in the piazza. read more

I'm mildly obsessed with pizza. For years now my NEPA coworkers have told me to make the trip to try the pizza up there. Sab's was "ok". Definitely came off as a pizza that you need to grow up eating to have a serious liking for. Otherwise, it's a good pie if you want a break from a normal pizza. The quick and dirty is the sauce is very sweet relative to most pies (eating it cold it almost tasted like BBQ sauce) and it's a very thin pie. Both are things I personally do not go to first. The service was terrible, the place was busy, and we saw our actual waitress two times and the second I had to flag her down. I noticed other customers doing this as well. This is the first rant regarding a business I have ever made, but I am angry over the treatment my family recieved by Lindo Sabatini, the owner of Sabatini's Pizza in Exeter. I have been a customer of Sabatini's Pizza in Exeter for over sixty years, almost as long as they have been in business, and before Lindo the current family owner was born! As a matyer of fact it WAS my favorite pizza place! My guess given my experience with the current owner Lindo Sabatini is he won't care! Our family booked a birthday party, on March 13th. for my granddaughter on April 12th. When we called to confirm the number of people attending we were told they didn't have a reservation for us and there was nothing they could do, since they were overbooked. We sent invitations to forty-five people, some from other states traveling to the party. I called the restaurant to speak to Lindo Sabatini the owner, and when he answeered I asked if I was speaking to Lindo Sabatini and after five requests he finally said yes, even before I told him why I was calling.. When I explained our situation his answer was his employee, Jay has worked for him for twenty years and " has never made a mistake on a reservation". He then told me it was Friday and he was very busy! His arrogance was inexcusable. His suggestion that we did not make a reservation for this party was reduculas at best. When we made the reservation, we were told we could call a day before with a final count. We were also told we could show up a half hour before our three o'clock reservation to decorate. Jay (him employee) also told us we were not to put up anthing on the walls. We called a week in advance, not a day, to confirm head count and get an estimated costs since they only accept cash. Fortunately, we called a week ahead of the party given the problem. If we called the day before as suggested we would be in trouble with forty guests coming to the restaurant. Most of all, after sixty years of patronage, to have the owner, Lindo Sabatini refuse to one, acknowledge who he was, and two tell me "it's Friday and he was too busy", and then tell me his employee of twenty years "never made a mistake", was beyond reasonable. At the very least, he should have acknowledged what was clearly a mistake. I understand that mistakes happen, but Lindo Sabatini's arrogance was not only inexcusable but an indication of lack of concern for a customer, let alone a lifelong customer. We now have to scramble for a new site for the party and contact everyone attending. Frankly, even if I were a first time customer I would expect better treatment. Having been the owner of a small food service business my response would have been, I'm sorry we made a mistake. what can I do to make it right! But instead Lindo Sabatini chose to blame us, a loyal customer after what was clearly a mess they caused! I am certain this post will not put Sabatini's out of business and that is not my mission, but I hope it will help Lindo get his act together! read more

Let me first say the selection of bottles and drafts, plus liquors is top notch for our area. This review is completely about an interaction with the owner/manager. I was in today for a couple drafts, a pizza, and some to go bottles. I picked two single bottles and a four pack. The singles ended up mispriced when I got the payment receipt. Apparently the staff couldn't correct. One was $0.50 over and the other was $2.45 over. The boss came up and said they can't keep up with all the price changes and he would just pull them from my bill if that was OK. I said I'd rather you just honor the price you have marked. We went back and forth with the same chat and after he said everyone else is OK with the price not being the price he says ' what you just need $3'? So he pulls his 2inch thick(folded) wad of cash out and throws 3 bucks down and walks away. Bottom line is I'm sure he knows what he pays for the beer on his shelf. Plus, to argue with me over his mistake and 3 bucks on a $70 bill for 1 person I'm not going back. read more

This chili had a major kick to it, now if you like spicy as much as I do then you're really enjoy this, we also tried their mozzarella sticks, these were nice and hot. Now are main course is here. The cauliflower pizza. Now this was absolutely delicious! A nice crisp crust. Now the best way to eat this is in house. This is only offered as a personal pie, 8 cuts. Would never ever ever ever ever recommend. The food was not good to me at all. Dough tasted like cardboard and the toppings were nowhere close to fresh. I was STARVING when I got the food and still it tasted horrible to me. Tried wings and pizza and wouldn't recommend either. A regular pizza tastes like spaghetti-o's but not even name brand. I absolutely do not like leaving poor reviews and I normally don't, but this place was just too gross. Beware. read more
