Went for lunch today with my cousin. Had the Porketta and Italian subs. Always delicious for lunch and Dinner. Highly recommend.

Homemade Fusilli with sausage, world class!!!

Great food and great hours. Where else can you get homemade pasta for lunch on a Monday. Pizza by the cut is convenient and delicious. Only place I know of with homemade fusilli.

Cut of plain, very good, love the sauce, quality cheese!

Great locals pizza & italian joint serving old forge style pizza. Very cool vibe, owner greeted us and was very welcoming! Refreshing to see in person dining finally! (Spaced out accordingly) We went on an Old Forge style pizza crawl, Salerno's was our final stop and by far our favorite! Like that you can order "cuts" (rectangle slices) vs having to order a whole tray if you want to try multiple slices which we did. Ordered a white piece, 1 plain and 1 sausage, pepperoni and mushroom. All 3 were amazing but the plain and S,P,M were my favs. Crust is VERY light BUT crisp on the bottom, however they cook it, its impressive. Couldn't believe how light and fluffy yet crisp it was! Homemade sausage was outstanding, amazing flavor! Kids split the honey fried chicken which I stole some of and it was outstanding! Quality ingredients, good friendly service, great pies, nice big menu with lots of options; it was busy but everything came out fast. Highly recommended!!

This was my third and final pizza stop on my pizza crawl through Old Forge. AI was told by several people in town that I needed to check out Salerno's Cafe. There is a dining room in the back, but most of the people seemed to congregate inside the dark bar located in the first room when you walk inside. Out of the three spots I visited (including Revello's and Arcaro & Genell), I felt that Salerno's had the most casual vibe. Basically, a sports bar with good pizza and a lot of dark wood. There was also a wall full of signed photographs from various sports players. Clearly, I have zero knowledge about sports. Otherwise, I'd call out a few prominently featured on the wall! Though, I did recognize Mohamed Ali. I ordered the standard cuts just like at the previous stops: 1 red and 1 white. Salerno's also has had a lot of media attention and was even included in the book Roadfood as one of the best spots to eat in the country. I could see the draw -- and why it held such a special place for locals. It's like Old Forge's version of Cheers. While I enjoyed the other two pizza stops more, I'm glad that I tried it. And the total price for two slices was just $3.30 total. You certainly can't beat the price.

This has been our family go to for generations. Anthony and Mike keep the tradition alive. We love the Tripe and white pizza but the treat is when we go off our usual. Highly recommend.

Salerno's red pizza is GOAT! "Greatest Of All Time". I don't frequent the bar, but it never disappoints, great taste.

Mary Lou's Pizza - Red Pizza Tray

As Old Forge proclaims itself as "pizza capital of the world" for it's unique tray style of square…read morepizza, I made it a point to try it out when in the Scranton area, and I chose Mary Lou's Pizza due to the positive reviews online. Unlike some of the other well known pizza spots in Old Forge, they are open for lunch and also have an indoor dining area. I ordered in advance since pizzas take a while to cook, and was ready right on time when promised. The lady that answered the phone was really pleasant in taking my order and answering questions I had, and also made it a point to chat with us when we came in. I appreciated the genuinely friendly conversation and her checking in to ask how the pizza was after we tried it. The interior seating area is cozy, clean, and modern, with tasteful pictures of Italy's landmarks on the wall. We went with a tray of the red, which is the standard pizza with cheese and red tomato sauce. While it looks like a Sicilian slice, it's feel is airy and much lighter, with a great crunchy crust. While the sauce and cheese were decent enough, they didn't measure up to the quality I'm spoiled with in the New Jersey/Philadelphia areas. The crust was really the star of the show, and gave vibes of a unique taste akin to a French bread and/or Ellios pizza crust the way they used to make it decades ago. While it wouldn't be in my wheelhouse for a style of pizza I'd regularly get, we were satisfied with the taste of the pizza and the overall experience. Since I haven't tried any of the other Old Forge pizzas and have nothing to compare it to, I'll chalk the pizza up to a 4.5/5 for its own unique special style, and am happy to round up for the satisfying experience and friendly service. I'd recommend giving Mary Lou's Pizza a try to others looking to experience Old Forge pizza.

Maybe a nice snack with a glass of wine or part of an aperitivo- but we definitely prefer thin crust, round pizza. We did buy Mary Lou's homemade fettuccine for later. Meravigliosa!! The server was kind and accommodating. We even got to meet Mary Lou! Worth a stop for sure.

The square pizza is my favorite. It doesn't even need anything extra because it's just perfect the way it is. I like that they burn the top of the cheese. That's my favorite part. It's always super clean. Everybody's always super friendly. And the price is great! Worth every penny. This pizza never lasts in my house , And they are definitely in my top 3 in the area.

And if you're like me and actually tried the local Pizza here then you know that's definitely the case. Maroni's is an excellent example of this point in which I'm trying to make. With their unique one-of-a kind style Yellow Cheddar Cheese Square Pizza it's pretty undeniably obvious that "we're not in Jerzey anymore", Lol.    While I do have an open mind, I can honestly say that at first glance I thought this was probably gonna be the worst slice I ever put in my mouth, but it actually made me literally eat my words. Holy Smokes, this Pizza is Freakin Delicious!! Whoever invented this is an Outright Pizza Genius!! With it's light Saucy Tomato Flavor and it's Yellow Tangy Cheese with the Crispy Charred Edges it kinda reminds me of a Grilled Cheese Sandwich that's been dipped in Tomato Soup. And who in their right mind doesn't LUV that combination? Rhetorical of course, Lol. Long story short, if you ever find yourself in the Scranton area, you have to try Maroni's "Old Forge Style" Pizza. I think you'll agree that it's definitely 100 percent in a category all by itself. It's more of a takeout place but they do have two tables set up if you want to have it there. Now sitting there, I noticed they do a good amount of take out. I also saw the same door dash guy a few times. Now, how was my pizza you ask? This came out nice and hot, the crust was nice and crisp, the sweet sauce was amazing. I do want to add the employees were very nice being my first time ever here. I do recommend everyone to try this place out. Until next video, be blessed and stay safe.
