The square pizza is my favorite. It doesn't even need anything extra because it's just perfect the way it is. I like that they burn the top of the cheese. That's my favorite part. It's always super clean. Everybody's always super friendly. And the price is great! Worth every penny. This pizza never lasts in my house , And they are definitely in my top 3 in the area.

And if you're like me and actually tried the local Pizza here then you know that's definitely the case. Maroni's is an excellent example of this point in which I'm trying to make. With their unique one-of-a kind style Yellow Cheddar Cheese Square Pizza it's pretty undeniably obvious that "we're not in Jerzey anymore", Lol.    While I do have an open mind, I can honestly say that at first glance I thought this was probably gonna be the worst slice I ever put in my mouth, but it actually made me literally eat my words. Holy Smokes, this Pizza is Freakin Delicious!! Whoever invented this is an Outright Pizza Genius!! With it's light Saucy Tomato Flavor and it's Yellow Tangy Cheese with the Crispy Charred Edges it kinda reminds me of a Grilled Cheese Sandwich that's been dipped in Tomato Soup. And who in their right mind doesn't LUV that combination? Rhetorical of course, Lol. Long story short, if you ever find yourself in the Scranton area, you have to try Maroni's "Old Forge Style" Pizza. I think you'll agree that it's definitely 100 percent in a category all by itself. Come And Get Your Munch On!!

Well...it turned out that it was closed on Mondays. Now, what do we do? We asked the front desk clerk if the hotel had a list of nearby restaurants that deliver. Thankfully, they did have such a list. Considering we didn't know our way around, it was very helpful. Going through the short list, we decided to check online to see Dino & Francesco's menu. We liked what we saw so we called them and placed our order. They said the food would arrive in an hour. Actually, it was a lot less than that. The delivery person came right to our door with the food. He was polite plus the food was still warm. I had ordered spaghetti with oil and garlic while my husband got spaghetti with meatballs. Both entrees came with a salad and we both got Italian dressing. To drink, we got a 2 liter bottle of Coke. Much to our surprise, the meal came with some garlic bread. I liked my pasta dish. The oil was olive oil that had a generous amount of garlic slivers that were well sauteed. I appreciated that the pasta wasn't heavily dressed with the oil. The pasta was al dente. My husband really enjoyed his entree. He really liked the sauce. I tasted it and agreed with him. It was full bodied and unsweetened. He thought it had a decent number of meatballs. The salads were small but the assorted veggies were fresh. Again, they weren't overdressed. The garlic bread was a bit disappointing as the bread wasn't crispy and the garlic butter was on the stingy side. We didn't complain as it was still good for sopping up sauce. This was a very reasonably priced meal. After the tip (we gave 20% even though the restaurant suggested 15%) it came to just over $35. If I had to guess, this meal would have been even better if we had dined in the restaurant, simply because it would have been served hotter. Still...no regrets from ordering here. Should we be in town again, we would gladly order from Dino & Francesco's.

We sure didn't but were totally delighted that our $7.99 orders for a white and a red came out in two pitchers! Hell, I pay more than $7.99 for a measly glass back home. My pitcher held four glasses (I found out for purely scientific research). That Sangria added to a very nice dinner experience at Nonno's Pizza and Family Restaurant on Sunday 8/4/24 at around 5:45pm. Oue server Marisol was very friendly and polite and was attentive without being intrusive. We ordered two of their pizza slices ($5.98), a cup of Italian Wedding Soup ($4.99) and an Antipasto Salad ($12.50). All three choices were excellent. The pizzas were New York style with a thinnish crust and a solid sauce to cheese ratio. Very delicious! The soup was loaded with plenty of the traditional mini meatballs and pasta pearls, and a very flavorful broth. The Antipasto was fantastic. It was a very large serving of mixed greens, sliced ham, salami, and provolone, tomatoes, onions, olives and pickled vegetables. My only quibble, and it's more of a suggestion than a quibble, is that a roll or some Italian bread or a breadstick on the side would have been perfect. Anyway, our wine and food feast ran under $41 with tax and before tip. All Hail Sangria Sunday!

Unlike some of the other well known pizza spots in Old Forge, they are open for lunch and also have an indoor dining area. I ordered in advance since pizzas take a while to cook, and was ready right on time when promised. The lady that answered the phone was really pleasant in taking my order and answering questions I had, and also made it a point to chat with us when we came in. I appreciated the genuinely friendly conversation and her checking in to ask how the pizza was after we tried it. The interior seating area is cozy, clean, and modern, with tasteful pictures of Italy's landmarks on the wall. We went with a tray of the red, which is the standard pizza with cheese and red tomato sauce. While it looks like a Sicilian slice, it's feel is airy and much lighter, with a great crunchy crust. While the sauce and cheese were decent enough, they didn't measure up to the quality I'm spoiled with in the New Jersey/Philadelphia areas. The crust was really the star of the show, and gave vibes of a unique taste akin to a French bread and/or Ellios pizza crust the way they used to make it decades ago. While it wouldn't be in my wheelhouse for a style of pizza I'd regularly get, we were satisfied with the taste of the pizza and the overall experience. Since I haven't tried any of the other Old Forge pizzas and have nothing to compare it to, I'll chalk the pizza up to a 4.5/5 for its own unique special style, and am happy to round up for the satisfying experience and friendly service. I'd recommend giving Mary Lou's Pizza a try to others looking to experience Old Forge pizza.
