I'm not a huge fan of "The Office." Maybe a quasi-fan! This was a cool stop on our long weekend in the great city of Scranton, Office fan or not. I thought I knew and experienced most pizza styles: NY (fold it), Chicago, school cafeteria, Connecticut "Apizz", CT bar pie, Detroit, etc. I was clearly wrong. Alfredo's introduced my son and me to Old Forge pizza: mozzarella and American cheese with sauce served in squares. Really unique and the American cheese sticks to the roof of your mouth. Surprisingly good if you're not a strict traditionalist. Our pie came in yummy squares and the crust had a delicious, slightly flaky quality to it. The Caesar salad was delicious with generous shavings of good parmigiano Reggiano. Our waiter was a true gentleman - kind and explained the Old Forge way to these NY born-and-raised customers. They have comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and the place was very welcoming. It's clearly a favorite red sauce joint. Drove to Scranton for a day tour of all famous places featured in The Office and our first stop was Alfredo's Pizza Cafe. True to what they say in the show, this is great pizza. We got the Bruschetta pizza and it was bursting with flavours. Mozzarella sticks were good too and Diet Coke was bottomless (yay) The service here was outstanding, the person who brought our food was funny, cheerful and made great conversation. It's clean and spacious and typically crowded. I've been here a number of times so when I tell you to allot a lot of time to dine here, I mean it. The service is friendly but incredibly slow. I mean very slow. Not that you are rushed when eating , but from sitting to getting your food you are going to have a wait time. I will also say that at times the portions aren't always consistent.
