Let me first start with saying, I was not intending to author a review this evening. However... this restaurant did so many things right, I needed to send praise their way. (1) Presentation and ease of care - As you can see from the photo, they made and excellent presentation of our multiple item dinner instead of giving us multiple boxes. I loved this, because it was sooo easy to carry with my toddler son. (2) Quality of ingredients - I ordered a small tossed salad and was almost not going to because it was $6.95 ... it was worth it! They included olives,tomatoes, onions, cucumbers and Ken's Balsamic dressing. The garlic knots were so moist and frankly, the best I've ever had. (3) Pizza quality - this is where they could do a bit better, but I'll give them that I walked in 30 minutes before close. The pizza was good, but not great - crust was a bit flat, but it really did hit the spot! (4) Atmosphere - it's small, but you can sit down and relax! You can tell they care about their restaurant and its success - they were super polite and helpful. All in all! Great pizza joint. I think the crust was a bit flat, because it had been there for a minute. Will definitely be back when we come through! Oh! For those health conscious - they had LOTS of healthy options, not just all bread.... Side of broccoli, soup of the day, TONS of salads. Great job y'all! I wouldn't suggest using this restaurant through Slice, Uber Eats, or any other third party app. I have never had a problem before until my most recent order was placed, I waited a half an hour after my estimated delivery, SLICE having said it was on the way, I contacted customer support and they said Joeys Pizza was on the way with my order. I wait another half hour to be told by SLICE that Joeys Pizza never received my order to begin with. I won't be using SLICE again and probably won't order Joeys anytime soon. read more

I ordered for the 1st time yesterday from Joey's. I never had their food before. I have a problem eating, chewing and swallowing food because of cancer issues, so I was skeptical about it being to hard of dough and crust. I called to order and the person who took my order was great! It took no time at all to get here and the delivery person was very polite. The pizza was soooo good and tasty and went down easy! Me and my gf came here last week and omg i wasn't expecting it to be this good. we got the penne vodka with garlic knots and salad. Everything here tasted very fresh. The salad was crisp, the garlic knots were superb, and I can't even describe to u how the pasta was because of how good it was. Man this place is busy! We dined in. Party of 3. Considering the delivery driver was collecting 6 delivery bags at a time the wait was surprisingly short. We had pizza, calzones and big salads. The food was fresh. It's a pizza place atmosphere and a big screen TV with a football game on helped pass the wait time. The staff was courteous, professional and hard working. We only stopped here because our first choices of sit down restaurants were all a 45 minute wait. We weren't disappointed and we were no longer hungry. One of the better authentic pizza spots in Scranton. If you want real New York style pizza with a variety of toppings, this is a great spot to check out. This location is found right off the O'Neill highway and is a pretty small shop in general. Regardless, the place has indoor/outdoor seating, looks clean, and has a friendly and supportive staff. We've gotten pizza (margherita, white slice, chicken bacon ranch, meat pasta pizza) here a couple of times and this pizza has always been great. The toppings are excellent and the pizza itself is delicious. You can't really go wrong here. However, what makes this a 4 star and not a 5 star pizza shop is that the pizza crust is a bit too thin and they often overcook it which makes hard to bite into and chew. By the time I get to the crust of the pizza, I often debate whether I should finish it or not (probably a great tactic if you're watching the calories). Additionally, the garlic sticks are tasteless. We bought an order and couldn't finish it because it seemed too bland. Those are the only things that come to mind as I haven't yet tried the pastas, salads or sandwiches yet. Overall, this pizza place is one of my favorites due to the speedy and friendly service provided and the variety of pizza topping options. Went with a unique option - Sweet Chili Chicken Pizza with eggplant, roasted peppers, and olives - good flavors and decent dough but very, very light on the chicken. The best italian food I have had in a long time. Staying overnight this restaurant was referred by the front desk check in young lady & I'm glad she did. I ordered the chicken parmigiana with penne, garlic knots & salad dinner meal and it was amazing. The two pieces of chicken were delicious and well seasoned, served with a tasty marianna sauce. Ordered delivery twice within a week while passing through town. I've certainly had a lot worse in my recent travels through the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. The Linguine with Shrimp in garlic and olive oil was loaded with pieces of fresh garlic, yet still bland. Copious amounts of salt & pepper (scrounged from the motel because no plastic forks, knives, napkins or condiments were supplied, despite it being a hotel delivery) made no difference. You have to cook the pasta in salt water, people. I remembered to request parmesan on one order as a condiment but none was supplied. With both orders, the pasta sauce leaked everywhere, soaking through a heavy cardboard box and leaving a puddle on the furniture. Wrapping the food container in foil securely would have helped. Or just not over-filling the container since I would have preferred to eat the sauce rather than just mopping it up. Also, with one order, I requested a cheesesteak made with garlic bread. The order taker seemed not to understand the concept of garlic bread (made the usual way) as the base for a sandwich. Throwing garlic on the sandwich isn't the same thing. Passing through Scranton. This place was by the sleep inn I'm staying at. Went here since it was late and only place still open in the area. So glad i went in. Pizza is excellent. Sliced sausage was piled high and sliced thin and the mushrooms were fresh not slimy canned mushrooms. Also tried a cheese steak. Bread looked like they make it here from the pizza dough and it was awesome. It also was loaded with meat. The employees and owner(?) were very welcoming and friendly. Definitely give this place a try. The pizza was well cooked brown bubbly cheese I looked at many places on yelp in the Scranton area and the pizza shops undertook the pizza all white and gooey looking. What's up Scranton? Thankfully joeys knows how to cook a pizza. I don't know if I'll ever pass through here again but if I come anywhere close I will be back. Good job you guys! read more

We ordered from Joey's last Friday (7/22/2016) and the food was pretty good. Pizza was good with a nice thin crust and also got a stromboli that was really good too. I got a single slice of their buffalo chicken pizza and it was excellent. The reason that I give them 3 stars is because their prices are REALLY high compared to other pizza places of similar quality in the area.
