Pretty tasty traditional Old Forge pizza. It definitely seems more a to go place than dine in but we were here from out of town so dined in. Got a pound of the wing bites-- nice and spicy and crispy but it felt like WAY MORE than a pound! It was A LOT! The people were friendly. The dining area is a little hazy from all the kitchen fumes but it was a passable spot to sit and eat our food. read more

Colarusso's is so good, and they have great pizza! I also love their shrimp scampi! After I sat down, I ordered my drink, water, and my waitress gave me a pitcher of water, but no glass. I waited about 15 minutes until our waitress came back over, and truly it was a mistake that she didn't give me a glass, so I forgive her. After I told her, she was right on it. Mistake forgiven! Up here from Philly metro playing soccer team from Dunmore. Knew of Colarusso's so happily ordered a 12 cut White pizza. Just. Incredibly. Delicious. Being from Philly, describing this is so different than anything I'd be used to. First, it is likely in the Old Forge style of thick crust, square, and a blend of cheeses that might include Parmesan, American and mozzarella! Garlic permeates too. There are varying sizes of pies. Broccoli and cheese was good but the tomato garlic wasn't like colarusso in avoca. The tomato kept sliding off the pizza and I think it was too big of slices. We also ended up getting wings that we ordered were hot but they ended up being hot honey garlic, which is fine but they were extremely fatty and undercooked. I prefer my wings to be extra crispy, even if it takes longer whether they're on the smaller side. I would order from there again, but I would not get the tomato. The crust was good on both pizzas, but the tomato was not as good as I have thought it might be. It wasn't really over seasoned or under seasoned, but just not the same consistency as the other colarusso. To be fair, we placed the order on DoorDash, and perhaps if we had called it in and ordered specifically extra crispy wings, they may have turned out differently. read more

I haven't bought pizza at this restaurant in while, but I got 2 trays recently and they weren't appetizing at all. The crust on the square red pizza was very thick and hard to chew. It was either over-baked, or just rolled that way. The open-faced pizza was only so-so. The biggest issue with the 2 trays was that both were VERY DRY. I've never tasted pizza that was as dried out as both those trays were. I won't be going back there any time soon. It was a very big disappointment. read more

Whoever described this place as "elementary school pizza" was spot on. The crust has no aeration whatsoever. It's stiff and unpleasant to eat. The sauce is almost non-existent and flavorless, while the cheese is bland. Zoom in on the cross-section of the crust in the photo the woman from LA shared--that's exactly what I got. You can't call something "hot wing" pizza if all you're doing is cutting up breaded chicken and dabbing sauce on it. Really hard to mess up both the topping and the delivery vessel, especially when we're talking about hot wings and pizza. The double-crust was above-average for the area with a really pleasing goo factor. I write this as a native who "understands" the area. read more

I am not from the area so I felt the need to check out the local "Old Forge" style pizza. I knew to expect a square shape and a cheese other than mozzarella, most likely American. I figured I'd hate it. Colarusso's surprised me. I ordered a fresh tomato slice with basil and garlic and that was very good. Also ordered a white slice (which came with tomato sauce by the way and defied my understanding of what a white slice is supposed to be). I didn't like the white quite as much - probably because I didn't like the cheese and it was heavy on the cheese. The crust was good and the tomato sauce was sweet... I know this is the way to do it around here but I couldn't get past the cheese. Not sure if it was white American but it tasted and looked like it. I did not like the feeling of it sticking to my teeth. I'm obviously not going to hold that against the restaurant if that's the way pizza's made in the area. I will say that everything else was done well. Definitely get the fresh tomato! They do individual slices which is great. They also accept credit cards and unlike many other spots in the area, they are open Sundays. Also, friendly service. Would recommend. read more

I called in the afternoon and placed my order for 4 full trays to be delivered at 5:00PM. When the pizza arrived it was hard and dry. They also got the order wrong for one of the trays. I think they baked the pizza early and left it sit on top of their ovens until they delivered it. It was very disappointing. read more

I love this pizza. It is different, even from other NEPA/Old Forge style pizza. The cheese is absolutely different than the norm--someone else here said "ooey, gooey", that's right--but that is fine with me. The crust is also very unique. It somehow manages to be thick and crunchy, while staying airy and not overly doughy. Seems hard to do but they do it. The toppings are great and fresh. Good people, good service. Just order their specialty--the Garlic Tomato Pizza only and you will not be disappointed. You can also order something else if you want, but my favorite is their Garlic Tomato Pizza. There are other Colarusso's (Clarks Summit, Dickson City) in the area but they are not the same. This location has the better pizza. ;) read more

This is a perfect example of PA Italian. Coal mine style "Sicilian" pizzas that capture the pizza culture of northern PA and plenty of affordable family style Italian-american food. This is where you want to roll in with a huge group, push the tables together in the back room and hang out for hours. Operated by dedicated employees who take great pride in their work and their dough. Anyone who cares about real pizza will have a great experience. This is probably Dunmore's finest example the unique style you get out here. Don't expect a lot of moz; instead you'll find some of the oooiest, gooiest , (and fattiest) , meltiest american cheeses you could ever hope for. The white pizzas and double crusts have especially complex blends of cheeses that will feature some traditional moz, but in general the "brick" cheese is what dominates. It's not for everyone, but the pizza in this area is a must-try; no two ways about it. read more

Best pizza I've ever had. Literally. Couple friends and I decided to pick up a pizza before we went out for the night. Typically the easiest thing when you have a group of people together. Anyways, I've never had Colarusso's Pizza before. Just heard of it's excellence. Boy were they ever right on. We decided on a "fresh tomato" pizza. It consisted of sliced tomatoes, basil, garlic, and sprinkled Parmesan cheese. I'm not positive what type of cheese was on top besides Parmesan. The crust was out of this world. Reminded me of garlic bread sticks. When the tomatoes are cooked just right, the skin will peel along the outside edge. Careful when the pizza is hot. If the skin starts to peel, the tomato comes right off and smacks you in the chin. SO HOT!! Yes, this happened to me. read more

Just really good Northeast PA pizza! We really enjoyed the combination of cheeses - I always enjoy American in the mix and I know it's there because it sticks to the roof of your mouth (better wait for it to cool for a few minutes)!
