Today we brought a high school team to eat in this restaurant. Although we did experience some problems, I will say the male manager on duty was absolutely phenomenal and GREAT TO WORK WITH. The food was a variety variety which is 25 different people and every single item looked and tasted outstanding. We were able to banquet room by ourselves, which was very quiet, but we all taken care of. No Doubt restaurant and homemade food apart. Wilkes barre/scranton pizza is good. Kings pizza gives a BAD name to that. The pizza here was not good. Worse then basic pizza. I will NEVER get pizza from here again. I have been going to Kings for the past 25 years at mountaintop. Today the food was terrible. I ordered wood fired pizza with meat, onions and peppers. What I received was a pizza with some onions, tons of peppers and very little meat. I tired to eat it but it was terrible. I sent it back. They wanted me to order something else but after my first attempt at getting a pizza, didn't want to. I got the bill and had to pay for the pizza. I gave the waitress 0 tip and talked to the boss. They will never get another dollar of my money again. I'll be looking for another pizza shop! If zero stars was possible, I would choose it! read more

We have been back in this area for a year and a half. There are SLIM pickings when it comes to good pizza. We've tried 6 or 7 places now? This one is at least 20 minute drive maybe a little more, but worth the drive. Tonight we tried the chicken wing pizza with mild sauce. With the drive, as expected I have to heat it up when I get home. 3 minutes in the air fryer, at 390, was perfect. It was very flavorful, we dipped in blue cheese dressing from home. The combination of ingredients makes for a very tasty pizza. The crust was very nice, chewy, crispy, and tasty, but very greasy. Other than that, it would've been a 5! We will definitely order again, just dab the grease if it's that way again. read more

I just love this restaurant. I have never been disappointed or any of my guests. Antonio is just a pleasure to talk to, he makes your dining experience so special. You have to sit at the bar though lol. He beer and food knowledge are second to none. When you want real Italian you go to real Italians to make it. Headed in the wrong direction. We have been King's fans for years. But things have changed. There's a signal as soon as you come in ... a sign about rising costs. Our pizzas (we bought several for an occasion at home) were all pitiful ... and that was a shock. They replaced great cheese on the chicken pizza I used to love with a white cheese sauce. Not good. The other two pizzas lacked seasoning, except for too much garlic. Shrimp on one were overcooked tiny balls. The Marguerite pizza ... no taste at all other than garlic. And the cheese on both of those was something unidentifiable. And not good. WHY? This place was always good. But if you've ever watched Food Network shows on restaurant rescues, the menu tells you everything you need to know: Their food costs must be out of control: way too much. Great local restaurants that stay in business simplify, serve FRESH, not frozen, and don't try to sell everything. They stay in business by focusing on fresh and doing a few things beautifully. They are trying to mass produce ... and it is not working. This is sad. I can see the "closed" sign soon if the ownership doesn't wake up. read more

ordered a cheese pizza on a Saturday night, when I got home there was a giant pool of grease in the middle of the pizza. The box was soaked in grease. so much it seeped through the box onto the kitchen counter. the other picture of the plate was grease from one slice of pizza. I got more grease than pizza. Do not recommend this place at all. when trying to give them feedback they ignored me. poorly run and no customer service. read more

Been dining at Kings for 30 years. The absolute worst experience today. Calzone was a grease pit and literally had one piece of pepperoni and one slice of ham. Pizza was good but service was downright miserable. I still left a tip because of my general principle of helping out the waitstaff, however I felt like a sucker for rewarding slow and inefficient service. My advice: never dine in. Atmosphere is dingy, and service is slow. We arrived at 615 and got a table. Waiting for an additional 15 minutes as servers stopped to chat with other customers, refill drinks etc. By this time my toddler was getting pissed and hungry. Finally I had to flag someone down to get an order placed for a single pizza. We then waited approximately half hour for said small pizza to get cooked and brought to our table. Overall very aggravating especially with small children. The general rule of hospitality is to let the customer know the order will be taken soon so they are not left wondering if they were forgotten. Some things never change. Scroll all the way to the bottom and you will see a review from 2016. Same thing: terrible service. The poster told a manager about the service and the manager apologised and admitted they had staff issues. Three years later, no clear improvement. In sum: decent food if you want to take out. Never actually eat there. Save yourself the headache (and gratuity). read more

Usually am satisfied with King's but VERY disappointed with this order. Ordered the Quattro Stagioni that comes with Artichoke Hearts, Roasted Red Peppers, marinated mushrooms, prosciutto, and fresh mozzarella Cheese. Got it with no prosciutto, but there were barely any artichoke hearts and mushrooms and peppers. As you can see in the photo, only 4 artichokes on the entire pie (not spread out AT ALL), no mushrooms, and barely any peppers (again not spread out - only on one slice). The bar service on the deck at King's Pizzeria is terrible on a good night but last night it was downright stupid slow! They young lady bartenders was about as slow as I ever saw anyone bartend. No she was definitely the slowest! And she had a complete attitude when after 18 minutes I approached her to get beers for the 14 guests in our party. We had just attended a birthday party inside the establishment and then to come out to spend even more money at the bar and get this horrible service was too much! I complained to Pasquale the owner but he gave me some stupid look like I was speaking a foreign language. He Saud he would call out to the deck to find out what was going on but when I got put there the bartender was still avoiding our corner of the bar and continued her attitude. I couldn't take it and more than half of us left. I will not be drinking on the deck ever again! I understand it gets busy but this situation was sheer incompetence! Ordered two margherita pies, wings and an antipasto salad. Pizza was decent but we were informed that the cost for the pizza we ordered was $17+ each instead of the roughly $8 margherita pizza we saw on their menu. When I asked about this at pickup, they told me the pizza I ordered "wasn't on the menu" and it costs $17.50 roughly. I'm not sure how I could have ordered a pizza that isn't on the menu, when I read it directly from their menu when calling. Felt VERY taken advantage of, to be honest. The wings were decent in taste but the 8 piece was 1 drumstick and the rest were the flat wings. The worst part by far was my salad. I ordered the antipasto salad with chicken added and blue cheese dressing. Imagine my surprise when I open my salad to see hot shredded chicken on top with melted cheese on top of that. This addition of heat proceeded to make a limp, wilted salad beneath the melted cheese and meat. The blue cheese was not placed in the bag and I received an Italian dressing instead. In addition to this, there was no salami as their menu states. Therefore I had a wilted warm salad with no dressing and no salami. I can't say I will be returning or recommending King's to my friends due to the unclear pricing and sub-par food items. Unfortunately they are able to charge for items that aren't "on the menu" but are unable to deliver accurately on the items that actually ARE listed on their menu. read more

The place is good for a quick lunch. I had the cheese calzone that was pretty good with the marinara sauce. The waitress were very attentive but the front house staff was rude. The young cashier girl and I believe the Caucasian chef since he was wearing an apron. They did not provide a pleasant atmosphere for people to want to go back to. Went for lunch on a weekday with co-workers. The food was good, I had a cheese steak and my co-worker had a cheese Stromboli. The prices were very good and they do offer an all you can eat lunch buffet that we opted out of. The inside of the restaurant was very outdated and slightly dirty which was very appealing. The service was also a little slow because they only had one waitress for all the tables. Being that the food was good I would do take-out oppose to eating in next time. read more

I'm only commenting on the catering/private party aspect of the restaurant. I was here for a baby's first birthday party and they set us up in the private room in the back. It was very large and even had outdoor decks with bars (unfortunately, it was freezing out and covered in snow, so they weren't open). I can't comment on the service since all the food was brought out at once, but what I can say is that this is some damn good pizza. Delicious, thin crust, perfect balance of sauce and cheese. Buffalo wings and BBQ wings were good, nothing great. But the best were the garlic wings- DELISH. Even the salad was great, with hearty chunks of cheese and plenty of black olives. Side note: I grabbed a pitcher of beer in the downstairs bar, and it's a really nice area down there. Plenty of space and two pool tables in the back, so I'm sure it fills up quick on a Saturday night. read more

I was born and raised in Mountaintop, and King's was always the place to go. The owner's son grew up and also went to school with my older brother. This place totally gives off the homemade, hometown vibe, and you will not regret coming here. There is a main dining area, a great bar downstairs, a party room in the back, aaand THE DECK! When the weather gets warm, you will want to go here! It's the perfect setting, the bar is great, and there is always a drink special going on. Average food at best. I think this place relies more on its deck and location for business rather than quality food and service. We ordered chicken wing pizza. It was tasteless and overly greasy. The cheese from each piece would completely fall off with the first bite. My wife had a bug in her beer upon receiving it. It's a full Italian restaurant, with banquet facilities, full liquor bar, WIFI, etc. The combination of portion size and tastiness spells terrific value. At lunch during the week, they offer an AYCE buffet @ $6.99 with changing items every day, but always including pizza, soup, salad bar and pasta dishes. I've never had a bad experience there. Nice big beautiful deck outside, inside, nothing special, could use a refresher. I ordered​ roasted peppers app and scallops with linguine. Very good. Big scallops and generous portion. Pizza is NY style, but the real wood fired is best. Nice draft selection and very good prices on mixed drinks. Coming back soon. Staff seems overworked, really high paced atmosphere.
