The ambiance is lovely, very cozy and homey. It's creative and nice, also very natural. The service was lovely. The lady was nice and attentive. *BATHROOM: 3/10 bathroom. The stalls are wayyy too short, there isn't enough room to do anything. You can't even lock the stalls so bring a friend or family member to hold it. No toilet paper either and you can't wash your hands without getting hit by the door.* The food is actually very delicious and authentic! This is a definite gem and a hole in the wall place. Their Mediterranean dishes are delectable. The lemon potatoes are well known in our area. Another great mom-n-pop restaurant located in Kingston, not far from Wyoming Seminary's upper school. Having taken the family here, on more than 1 occasion. This place is great, especially if you have a large(r) sized group. The food is fresh, clean, and delicious. They have a nice selection of beverage options. The staff is always cordial and polite, and the service is quick. The building itself is an old Popcorn factory, they've got some of the old machines in display, which is really cool. We most recently stopped in to find they were closing a little early for bad Snowy weather... and they still took care of us, with the same great service, as they were wrapping up. We love Theos. They have amazing food, and such a wide variety with both Greek and Italian food on the menu. They have amazing dinner specials most weeknights. I especially love the 2 for $26 Tuesdays and take-home pasta Mondays. Also, they have a ton of great vegetarian options! The spinach dip and pita was excellent, the meatballs were fantastic. The chicken was great and the french fries were perfect. The patesio was wonderful! As a dessert, we had the tiramisu which was splendid and the chocolate peanut butter cake which was moist and delicious. read more

Came here with a coworker for dinner one night. We split the tzatziki and each got the Chicken Saganaki for dinner. The tzatziki had less cucumber taste than I expected from the other restaurants I've been to, but it was still good. The chicken saganaki was good as well. Lemon potatoes were, as usual, always delicious, but I think my favorite thing was the horiatiki side salad that I got. Overall, I'd go back. read more

The person who gave me my order was friendly, and it seemed like she knew multiple people at the bar, as she was chatting with them when I came in (you pick up your food at the bar if it is to go). You can't beat Theos if you are looking for authentic Greek food. Their spinach pie is flakey and delicious. They offer several different types of gyro meats besides lamb. Their prices are great and their portions are big enough to share. Their servers are always friendly. The place is very large and even has an separate area for private parties. The owners Perter and Kathy are two of the nicest people and always want to make sure you are satisfied. read more

I cannot say enough about our experience here. I have been wanting to try this place for YEARS, but never got around to it as it is a destination, tucked away in a residential area and you just don't think about it. Anyway, we dine out with a large group frequently. One of our friends is Asian and she an awful critic,, finding fault with everything. Keep I mind, I generally come up with the places to dine and I'm getting so annoyed that every time I choose a place, inevitably, someting is not right. So, the incentive and reminder of a $10 ""certificate from restaurant.com got us there. We made reservations for 9 of us a few weeks back, specifically try their lobster special. As our luck would have it, on that date, the restaurant had some sort of issue with an exhaust fan breaking and they had to close!! So we went to another place that night, and our Asian friend of course complained that the clams were too tough ad the lobster tail was small and tough!!! I continued to communicate with Theos via FB messenger to see when they would re-open. The person who was writing to me, I believe may have been their manager and was simply a pleasure to deal with. So FINALLY, after well over 2 weeks, they were up and running again. Well, now, some of our group was gone so there were only 5 of us, our asian friend included. As we parked in the lot, I said a little prayer that all would be good and that the lobster tails would be the 12-14 oz as they advertised,because we were misled at other times, especially in the new place Flaming Crab when they first opened. We exited the car and our asian friend was assessing the "look" of the building. All others were making good, positive comments. She said nothing. When we entered, we were greeted with such a lovely, happy, intriguing decor!! This restaurant is inside an old popcorn factory and the decor is partially old things from there. Really nice, with nooks and crannies of areas to dine in addition to their main room. Onto the food 4 of us had the lobster special, including our asian friend. But first, the price of the drinks were reasonable. $7 to $7+ for a glass of wine. Gricos south is at least $9 for the same and Kevins, well, they are way overpriced. So, we are happy with the drink prices. Now, what came with the meal was soup or salad. 3 folks had a creamy spinach gnocchi and it was served steaming hot (a huge plus). Very,, very good. 2 had the greek salad. A bit too much dressing for my taste, but I should have asked for dressing on the side. The salad was fresh with an abundance of cucumber, black olives, red onion ad feta!. Also, they brought out a hot and fresh Parker type of roll that all enjoyed. When the lobster dish arrived, LO AND BEHOLD, it was exactly what they advertised. A 12-14 oz lobster for $26.95!! Two in the party asked for mashed potatoes (including our Japanese friend, she wanted gravy and they don't have gravy, which was the ONLY thing she could find to complain about, although she really didn't). One guest had a perfectly cooked baked potato. I opted for the "lemon potatoes", which were milder than I expected, but quite good. The meals were served with a side of vegetables, green and yellow beans and baby carrots which were DELICIOUS. A bit salty cause I am not using salt, but very flavorful, Tasted like they were done in a broth with lemon and maybe oregano, but super tasty. One diner had a seafood Alfredo, not a lot to say about it except that it was great. All in all, when I write a review, I am completely honest, give credit where credit is due. For this dining experience I have to rate it a 5. All the food was fantastic. Fresh, hot, extremely tasty. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive, coming back several times to check on us without being annoying. I will never change my opinion that we all work hard for our money, no matter what we do, so when you go out to dine, it should be a treat AND you should get what you pay for. Too often we accept inferior quality food and service for extreme prices. Now, I don't know if this special is a "loss leader" for Theos, but I can say, FINALLY, we found a gem of a restaurant offering a fantastic price for a great entree. $26.95 for a true 12-14 oz tail, beautifully presented ALONG with your lovely salad, rolls, potato and vegetables. I don't know another place that can touch this in the Luzerne, Lackawanna, Columbia or Susquehanna Counties!! read more

Ordered takeout from here, what a waste of money! Ordered the lamb souvlaki with lemon potatoes and the grilled chicken dinner with fries. We upgraded to the villager side salad, no feta...wtf! The souvlaki had 5 small pieces of lamb and the chicken was bone dry. Total bill $35. Will never order from there again!! Very disappointed at the least! read more

Amazing place. The atmosphere is museum- like with old equipment, supplies and molds from when they made popcorn treats in the building. Service was excellent and informative (about the menu and history of the building). Food surpassed our expectations. We had the 3 dip sampler and Saganaki (fried Greek cheese, flambayed table side then doused in lemon juice). I had lamb kabobs and my wife had the chicken gyro plate. Pick up was in the bar area and was ready when we got there at the said time. Food was pretty standard, but there aren't many Mediterranean options around. They will charge you twice for a "service fee" and a "take out fee". I understand having to add to your bottom line as a small business but make those calculations across the board when pricing your food... You should not punish customers for choosing to eat out of your establishment. read more

I have to maintain a gluten free diet. There are multiple selections that are compatible with a gluten free diet such as the K bobs and sandwiches and burgers on gluten free wraps. Theos Metro is a great place and we were happy to see that the restaurant is coming back around. Reservations were at 6. We had a party of 4. Our drink order was taken however they didn't arrive together. Two of us got our drinks the other 2 waited. The server is made to apologize for things she isn't responsible for. I am sorry but being busy just doesn't cut it as an excuse anymore. Nor is staffing. If you know you don't have the staff then don't jam up your reservations . If you order 4 drinks then 4 drinks should arrive at the same time. Other than that,everything was good as usual. read more

Apparently this place used to be an old popcorn factory. Looked pretty cool inside! Service was speedy, staff was friendly, and the food was pretty darn good. I ordered a burger, and it was OK, but the rest of my table ordered lamb. Cheese and crackers, man! It was so good! So lesson learned for me. If I go to a Greek place known for its lamb I will order the lamb and not a burger lol read more

We had a great experience at Theo's. Great casual atmosphere - the restaurant is in a former popcorn factory with many of the antique equipment still on place. The selection of Greek food is very broad, well prepared, and tasty. We have a daughter attending Wyoming Seminary right down the street, so we are looking forward to many frequent visits on the coming years. BTW I'm Greek. read more
