Crab Rangoons served with sweet and sour sauce & an orange.
    Chloe E.

Do NOT take this small spot for granted!! It has the best food and even better customer service. I'm not one to take pictures of food, but this is the first time in years I've taken photos of my meal. I ordered Crab Rangoons as an appetizer for the first time & couldn't help but share with my whole family--that's how delicious and savory it was! Their soup and seafood was just amazing--I'll be honest I didn't think much of Greek food until now. I suggest bringing the whole family because Cindy and the rest of the crew are all so friendly and hilarious. She popped in on our conversation and we roused up so much laughter to end our meal. This is the perfect spot to try something new since everything's good here. Don't worry about COVID-19, the waiters wear masks, there's a sanitizing station, and even the utensils are bagged. We are definitely coming back here often!

After making my takeout order she talked with me for 20 minutes about her family, business (has operated this restaurant for 53 years!), and travels. On top of that, she made everything with one hand while wearing a cast from surgery from last week. Such a neat character, restaurant, and amazing food.

I would come back multiple times as far as the ambience goes. The food also felt very healthy. It wasn't heavy at all. It was a little bit on the pricey red but still, it just felt so homey so organic and overall the ambience made the whole experience.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how this restaurant has 4.5 stars…read more My wife and I stopped by for an early dinner on a Saturday. The place was empty. No slow. I mean there were no one else in the restaurant. It was 3:00, so I didn't think anything about it. We stood there for 5 minutes waiting for someone to seat us. Finally, the waitress came in the front door. Not sure where she had been. After being seated, the waitress was very attentive and helpful. She did a great job. I ordered the French Onion Soup to start. It was ok, but nothing exceptional. It lacked flavor and the richness you expect from French Onion Soup. It needed seasoning and something to set it off. It had a few croutons and very little cheese. When I say very little cheese, I didn't see and cheese, but it did string out when I pulled the spoon next to my mouth. I then had the Wrangler Burger. It was pretty good, but the hamburger patty hadn't been seasoned before frying. Again, it lacked seasoning, which is the theme for the whole dinner. I will say the type of bun was very good and grilled just right. My wife had spaghetti and meatballs. She said the pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was really good. The meatballs were tough and dry. I would guess they were microwaved. And one more thing, check your tables. Ours rocked back and forth to an extreme. Once a week, level the tables. Well, we really wanted to live this place but their battle cry is, "Strive for the mediocre."

Until today when I ordered a Gyro from The Greek Shack. They showed fries on the Gyro in the picture but did not mention them in the description, while providing an upgrade option for fries, so I assumed I would not get fries on my Gyro. In my very strong opinion, fires don't make a Gyro better. In my even stronger opinion overcooked fries that were cooked in very very old oil and smell rancid and are nothing more than mush don't make ANYTHING better. The fries were gross. I picked them out of my food and gave the Gyro a fighting chance. Gyro meat should be freshly sliced off the spit for the best results. The gyro meat at The Greek shack is pre-formed and frozen. They even made it worse in the reheating as it was also overcooked and tasted off. Nothing authentic going on here, they just reheat frozen meat that came from a factory. This was hands down the worst Gyro I have ever tasted. Not close. There are no competitors. The Tzatziki, which I ordered an extra side of, is also the worst Tzatziki sauce I've had. Just tastes dull, no pop from the lemon or garlic and no discernable mint or dill. I mean the sauce is pure white, so I'm pretty sure they do not use mint or dill in the recipe. I'm so incredibly disappointed. I worked a long day and thought I was taking a safe bet on one of not only my favorite food items but one that was also my father's favorites. I've been eating Gyros on the regular for more than 40 years now and I travel for work so I eat them all over. I've had them in Coronado, CA, Denver, CO, SLC, UT, San Francisco, CA, KC, MO, Phoenix, AZ, Las Vegas, NV, Boise, ID, Billings, MT. And more. I love Gyros. This one was gross. I could not eat it.

Souvlaki, FLAVORLESS. No char, smoke, depth. Tasted like you pan-fried a chicken breast then skewered it. Smaller & presented sloppier. (Compare the pics). Lamb Shank Yvetsi still tender, but for the love of God what happened to the orzo? Burned in my memory how flavorful it was (it had depth!) This time, like you dumped Hunts over pasta. Honey Baked Feta was fair, but nothing measurable. Saganaki had last time, actually way better & I regret not giving it a fairer shake. Telia Chips were standout of the evening. Light fry, tempura-like breading, creamy tzatziki. Sad, if fried zucchini is best part of the meal. Food disappointment aside. It was my birthday. Could've picked from a dozen places in Chester Co, but drove to Berks for you. Hostess, zero acknowledgement. Waitress, zero acknowledgement. Not angling for free desert or a song, just acknowledge me!
