Just not sure about the merinara sauce to go with the fries. Of the beers I tried, my favorite was the Swish (Swedish Fish-inspired sour beer). Service was great- our waitress was very attentive and friendly. For Galantine brunch, the omlett station was my favorite. Least favorite was that the cocktails that we ordered at the bar before the cocktail-making demo was not included with the prepurchased tickets. Second floor of the restaurant has a lot of taxidermy (not my thing, but may be a lot of other people's), and game tables, like pool. Will be back!

It was so good with the big wonton strips that came with it. Our waitress, Carly, was nice enough to send out more strips for the delightful dish. I would return just for the dip. I had a wrap and butternut squash soup that were both so good. My co-diners, my mom and sister, also enjoyed their food and we thought Carly was so sweet and offered great service. We are in Philly but would absolutely return.

Ordered the following: Pork soup dumplings- delicious juicy good portions (6 pieces per basket) Pork pan fried bao- delicious juicy as well 4 pieces) Kung pao Brussels- very saucy but still good. Always like peanuts with my veggies Sushi combo- beautiful presentation with fresh fish Lo mein chicken- had a bite as this was a take home for the kids but pretty standard noodle dish with sweet sauce hopefully the kids will eat it tomorrow lol Crispy rice with tuna- not too spicy, a little too much on the rice but overall good. Located in a shopping plaza, from the outside it looks closed because it's totally dark but it's open! Easy free parking right in front. As a native Los Angeles girl coming to PA to see my husband's family, I was thrilled that his friend took us here! The best Asian food I've had since I've been coming here 13 years ago. Most disappointing were the drunken noodle and the pad thai. They were drenched and absolutely swimming in the salty sauce. Final Verdict: Would return and try other dishes but hard pass on the noodle dishes.

Very admirable and apparently they do this often to support other causes, as well. We were happy to dine at a restaurant that cares about the local community. That's what got me (& my wife) in the door. Now, for the brass tacks: Atmosphere: Very nice looking place. Clean. Lively. Loved the front window open on a warm day and the outdoor seating as we walked in. Service: Hostess and Server were both very friendly, attentive and helpful. Both checked in on us, often. Which, for us, is super important not to feel forgotten. No problem here. Food: Uncorkd Burger (sub grilled chicken), Vegetable Risotto w/Salmon, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, Homemade Vanilla Bread Pudding Cake & Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake. My wife said, convincingly, that the Grilled Chicken Burger was good. (and that's saying something. (She's super picky about chicken sandwiches) My Vegetable Salmon Risotto was terrific. Fresh, bright, creamy, & flavorful. The salmon may have been cooked slightly over, but only slightly. Cheesesteak Egg Rolls were very good. Not made in-house. The desserts were delicious. Bread pudding with Caramel Drizzle! Oh my! Light & Delicious. Stick Toffee Pudding Cake with a decadent dark chocolate sauce. Delightful. We took those desserts to go and had them at home. Delicious. Terrific experience, tonight. I would go back in a heartbeat. Certainly would recommend. 4.2

These days I live in California, but every time I'm back home, I make it a point to stop in for a drink and a trip down memory lane. I met up with a few of my high school buddies on a Wednesday night while the students were away, so it wasn't packed but that actually made for a more relaxed night. The staff was upbeat and welcoming, and you could just tell everyone behind the bar was having a good time. There was a live acoustic band playing (though I didn't catch the name), which added a great vibe to the evening. The Phyrst is known for its nightly live music. The bar has been completely renovated since my time working there, and I have to say, the new layout is a huge improvement. It flows better and definitely handles a crowd more comfortably on busy nights. I even had the chance to chat with some of the bartenders and share a few stories from my time behind the bar. It's crazy how much has changed and how much has stayed the same. The Phyrst remains one of the most iconic bars in State College and has been a go-to spot for generations of Penn Staters. Whether you're a student, alum, or just passing through, it's a must-visit.

I've never seen such a disgusting bathroom at a bar, bring your own toilet paper if you'd like to wipe. We went to the bar on the right most side and waited for 45 min only for the bar tender to tell us she did not serve the trash cans on that side. (NOTE: The other bar was not busy. The bar tender did not have the required drink on hand to finish the other customers order and made everyone wait while she filtered with the customers waiting for security to bring her the other drinks). We then proceeded to the other bar which was packed. We asked the bar tender for two drinks -- a miller light and a "trash can", but before even given the chance to specify which one he was off making the trash can drink. He then comes back and says it will be 17$. When we asked for the cost break down he specified that when we said trash can he assumed we meant the most expensive one on the menu and not the one that everyone else was order (the special). When we asked him to rectify this he threatened to get security to kick us out (we didn't even want our money back just the other trash can because he decided to pick the WORST DRINK ON THE MENU). On the upside a very nice security guard was kind enough to refund us the money for our drinks out of his OWN POCKET. If you are coming from out of town and need a place to go DO NOT COME here, the bartender makes it a scam.
