Beautiful restaurant in the U-Village. We randomly chose this spot and it's so clean and modern inside. Our server was very sweet and attentive. We ordered the fresh made focaccia for our appetizer and it was so airy and moist. It was one of the best focaccias I've ever had! I ordered the chopped salad. It was okay. Kind of overpriced at $16. My daughter got the kids cheese pizza and it was huge! My sister ordered their bolognese and it was amazing! Good size portion too. We had a great time! Cute location for a week-day date or get together with friends. Tables were seated fairly close together but the ambiance was cozy, especially the table candles and low lighting. Wine selection was reasonable but had very few options for pours as many required the entire bottle be purchased. We enjoyed our server as he was friendly and attentive, and corrected an oversight with payment when we pointed it out. The food was good for an Italian restaurant, all food was definitely house made, and incorporated a range of Italian dish options aside from pasta. Appetizer options were solid. We enjoyed the Fried chicken saltimbocca the most of all dishes we tried that night. Came here with a friend last night and we loved it! Our waitress, Deb, was so friendly and helpful. We started with the warm bread and oil. The bread was so good we were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. I got the ravioli and added grilled chicken and it was so good! Watch your bill. They are adding a 5% "surcharge" to your food order (I was one person). When I inquired, the poor waitstaff struggled to explain it as some kind of "management fee" that helps with their "staff training." They immediately offered to removed it. I felt bad for the staff. This is dishonest. If Piatti's management needs more revenue, they should adjust their menu prices rather than trying to pull one over on their guests. read more

We walked in and we were greeted by the super awesome hostess! I think her name was Rachel she needs a raise! There were lovely holiday decorations and trees with little pasta ornaments. We had our annual Holiday party at the Seattle location in Dec. 2024, about 50 people. We used the larger private room and it was perfect. The food was great and the servers were awesome. Sadly we will not return any time soon. Very unfortunate as this was an excellent venue whenever we would shop or hang out at U village and had so many countless delicious meals here. Today we ordered: Meat & cheese board (you must skip if you know and like good cheese, charcuterie board, etc. cheese tasted off and meats tasted rubbery and gross) Marinated olives (maybe the only acceptable item on menu) Calamari (terrible and funky old taste to it) Squid ink pasta (the grossest, overcooked, lukewarm pasta I have ever had) Roasted chicken (halfway decent though not impressive) Pepperoni pizza (can't really go wrong but even then it was meh) Rigatoni (sauce borderline ok but overcooked pasta ruined it) As you can see above, it was an extremely disappointing and terrible dining experience. The server seemed overwhelmed and inattentive. No utensils, spilling things, not bringing fresh replacements out etc. The list goes on to add to this unsatisfactory and horrific experience. After the meal, I asked if there were new kitchen staff. Indeed there are. In fact kitchen staff, servers are almost all new apparently. Wish we would have known that before we dropped $160 on a meal here. Oh well. Live and learn. Somebody better learn from my experience and save their money or get a much better meal/service elsewhere. read more

The ambiance in U Village is always nice; therefore, The outside seating at Piatti felt super welcoming. However, when you walked into the main restaurant, their seating there seemed sparse and spread out. I don't know if that was due to COVID, but it almost seemed exaggerated from how far apart each table was. The waiter was very nice and super accommodating. We had a person in our party running late and he was nice enough to wait for our entire party to come while still accommodating those who were there. He's probably the reason why this restaurant gets any stars because the food was quite a disappointment. For apps we ordered a margarita pizza, hot bread, and Brussels sprouts. The pizza crust was extremely salty while the sprouts were a bit over cooked and burnt. I got the squid ink pasta, which was a spin off from clam linguini but the taste was quite mild. The two dishes that really stood out (in a bad way) was the beef and polenta dish, and the ravioli. The beef ravioli was very heavy and the polenta turned rubbery after a while. The sauce the ravioli was drenched in started off very sour, which hid it from the fact that it was super salty. Overall, the service was great but there needs to be more emphasis on the food. You could probably get more bang for your buck at Olive Garden. read more

Five stars for patient staff who accommodated my somewhat needy dining companion and for general promptness and pleasantness without being overbearing or obsequious. Good food and wine. Tasty. Nothing amazing but good and serviceable - flatbread, caesar salad. The wine, something white from Italy, was better than the food. Nice outside patio that does not suffer from loud music. Why the one-star? This is one of those restaurants that instead of simply setting their prices accordingly, makes a big point of adding a 5% charge that they say is not a tip for staff but is the amount required to "meet mandates" by which I think they mean....adhering to minimum wage laws? You need to price your goods and services so that you can pay staff a good wage instead of throwing this kind of passive aggressive fit. Which, by the way, isn't noted when you make a reservation. Huge turnoff. I think this is a new development because I don't recall seeing this on my previous visit and I would have suggested elsewhere to my colleague had it been there before. I'm not sure if it's because I tried only these two meals, but I loved them both! The light was a bit too dim, but it definitely gives off a casual, romantic vibe. We ordered the lamb and the lasagnas. I'm usually quite picky about lamb because it's very difficult to cook properly, but this one was actually quite tender. The lasagnas were definitely better than average. Most lasagnas I have are usually quite bland, but this one was very well cooked and crispy on the edges. My only regret is not trying this place sooner. At U-Village, I tend to stick to the basics - DTF and Joeys and head to Molly Moons for dessert. But, I hadn't planned far enough in advance and couldn't get a reso and didn't want to wait- this is where Piatti saved me. And I am so glad they had a last minute opening on a Friday night. We started off with focaccia and it was probably the best I've had. I've been kind of dreaming about it ever since. Tonight we had an extremely disappointing dinner experience at Piatti, although the waitstaff was pleasant and helpful. It was definitely the worst restaurant meal we've had in many years, and we do eat out a lot. My partner had been wanting to return here after their remodel and was looking forward to a lovely dinner with my 2 adult sons, one visiting from Boston. My partner did like the ambiance from the remodel, but it does not make up for the poor quality meal. We ordered the burrata, which was okay but nothing special. House made focaccia was a bit better. The Fritto Misto was a joke. There were 2 small pieces of calamari and the vegetables were so small you couldn't figure out how to eat them or dip them, mostly consisting of batter and the portion was tiny. Dry and disappointing. My partner ordered the Bolognese which was dry and hardly had any meat in it. He said it tasted like Chef Boyardee. He had had it previously and loved it. I had the roasted chicken puttanesca which was incredibly overcooked, dry and flavorless. There was hardly any sauce to soften the blow. Unfortunately my sons ordered duplicates of what we ordered. Their response was the same. The only thing that was actually good was the tiramisu and Zeppole. Not enough to pull this sh&tty dinner out of the toilet though. We spent $50 per person not including alcohol or tip. Save your money. Do not go here. There are much better places nearby. We will never return. read more

Ravioli didnt taste like freshly handmade. The shell was too thick for my like. I like the filling. With all the cream sauce and thick shell, I felt uncomfortably heavy after. Hazelnut italian soda was meh. Its better at those coffee stations on the street. Portion is not enough to fill your belly especially with the prices. Like not so hungry but not completely full for ~$50. It was the plate size itself that big. They greeted me at the door. The one who put my name down he was friendly and polite. The waitress however was quite loud and unprofessional. I felt like she rushed us to finish our food. Food was brought out, 30s later she came asked was it good. Their boneless ribs with polenta was very delicious. The linguine with clams lacked flavor so I don't recommend that entree to anyone. At least not for the price we paid. Our family used to love Piatti. Okay, so we haven't been here for over a year and it really went downhill since then. We ordered fried calamari, impossible lasagna, rigatoni, carbonara, and fungi pizza. Our fried calamari portion was so small! They also fried up some zucchini and olives to make it seem like there was more. The lasagna was okay, the carbonara was bland, the pizza was pretty good and the rigatoni was a bit too salty. She wasn't what I would deem friendly in any sense of the word, but took my drink order and came back with in shortly. My friend arrived about 15 minutes later and we placed our dinner order. Came here for lunch and a champagne toast (I had water) after volunteering with colleagues today. Had a lovely buffet set up for us with a bartender for those who wanted an adult beverage. My wife and I ordered 2 things. Margharita pizza and the meat and cheese plate. The pizza was the winner by a mile. The meat and cheese plate? Needs help. It wasn't even about the meat and cheese that comes with the plate, those were great! The brie and fig jam along with grilled bread was fantastic too. But the sides they added with it was just odd to me. It really brought the experience down. Instead of some nuts, or pickles or crackers... they give you beets?? Beets!? No. I do not like knowing what the earth tastes like. Thank you. Also, the pickled veggies I was excited about was actually carrots (only one slice) celery (fine I'll eat it) but then get this... onions. Pickled onions. Not even the purple kind you may find on a fancy taco somewhere. Why would anyone want to eat pickled onions like that? I may be in the minority here with that one. But I haven't seen it before so it threw me off. The place itself was awesome. Staff professional and classy. Place was empty when we got there but jam packed by the time we were done.
