    Spring rolls

A small business serving fresh vietnamese dishes. Was a tad bit busy on Thursday night which is a good sign but was able to get seated. They have three family style circle tables with many tiny 4 seaters. A bit of Vietnam decor. Immediately seated without any issues and the bathroom is very clean. They had a laminated menu with clear prices and pretty solid dishes (a bit on small side). Got the rice vermicelli with grilled pork and the spring rolls, around $23 in total without tax or tips. They also serve jasmine tea so it's nice to just enjoy. Nice wait staff. Located at Avenue U and E 19th Street. Closest to Avenue U station.

Had last second plans to have lunch with my BFF. We ordered our favorites. For me, it's the summer shrimp roll and the crispy squid. They taste a lot fresher when you dine in. He likes the spring rolls. I like to eat them wrapped in the fresh lettuce and mint leaves dipped into the orange sauce. He tried the beef cubes with fried rice. I always order my favorite, grilled pork chop with Chinese sausage and a fried egg. The service is always excellent at this place. The dishes come out quickly, and the servers are very attentive. The atmosphere is also very nice and relaxed. I am already looking forward to my next meal at Pho Hoai!!

This was $22. This is unacceptable and ridiculous. I know everything is going up but the quality is trash compared to years ago. Save your money.

My husband and I had dinner here last night with a friend of ours. She said this restaurant was one of her go-to spots for Pho. We started off dinner with appetizers. I ordered the shrimp dinner rolls and my friend ordered the fried pork rolls. I ordered their grilled chicken banh mi sandwich for my entree and my husband got the Pho with beef. My sandwich was big and it had enough chicken and pickled vegetables. I wish it had a bit more flavor. My husband enjoyed his Pho. The portions were good as well. The service was good. The ambiance was nice.

Food was OK. Not great, but also not terrible. However, what was terrible was the service. Our waiter was good, but the owner kept frowning at us and generally had a sour puss. I'm not sure she was actually mad at us in particular, but she was just generally unfriendly and not welcoming at all. She pressured us to order quickly and always scowled at us when we asked for anything. We felt unwelcomed. What further irked me was the bill handed to us by the frowning woman -- the bill was just a dollar amount: no itemization at all; not even tax. I had no way of checking if we were overcharged. No way of computing the tip. It was just a single number. I honestly don't see myself going back -- there's a few Vietnamese places in the area, and next time I need to scratch my banh mi itch, there are better options close by. Banh Mi Dac Biet: C+ The house special Banh Mi. Sandwich was much too dry. Banh Mi Thjt Heo Nuong: B- Grilled pork Banh Mi. Better flavor than the house special banh mi, but suffered from the same flaw: it was too dry. Cha Gio: B+ Vietnamese spring rolls. They were quite good, but came out of the kitchen room temperature; I wish they were warmer. Xe Lua Pho: B Your standard Pho. Good (but it's hard to have bad Pho). The meat had a little gristle. Bun Bo Lui: B Beef had good grilled flavor, but there were too many noodles and too little meat. Could've used more vegetables and moisture.

Decided to come in for a quick lunch. We ordered #2 and Bun Bo Hue. They gave us a #1 instead and said that's what we ordered. They didn't even offer to change the bowl of noodles for us - all they had to do was add beef balls. For the price of the noodles it was such a small portion - barely any noodles. The soup base wasn't as flavorful either. We left feeling hungry.

I was quite disappointed when they dont have tripe for the day (??). its really a must have in any viet restaurant. But they have jalapeños which made up for it. But no avocado shakes or any fruit shakes, bathroom is nice there's two and private. Love the pork summer rolls and the soup is flavorful. Service was just ok very straight forward. They close at 9:30pm now

One of my favorite go-to spots for Vietnamese in Brooklyn!!! Sometimes I dine in but more often than not, I order take out. They have generous portions for pho. I usually order #1 which is the "extra big bowl." The broth is so flavorful and it's literally one of my favorite comfort foods. I also love the spring rolls here. So crispy and good. They also provide lettuce so you can make lettuce wraps with rolls and dip them in sauce! We also got calamari here, but beware - they're usually hot and fresh so wait a few minutes before you eat them! The service is always quick and the food always comes out piping hot. Now if you don't want soup, my favorite dish to order is #38 - Banh Hoi Cha Gio Ga Nuong. It's grilled chicken and Vietnamese spring rolls over tiny rice stick (rice vermicelli) with lettuce, cucumber, and mint leaves. You can never go wrong with this dish.

I've been coming here for years, thanks to my viet high school bestie and finally tried something new. The beef or chicken lemongrass are my go-tos but I seen they have a shrimp option too as a full place, rice on the side... and it was sooo good. They are generous with the sauce and it is delicioussssss I was able to share with my bf with an extra rice on the side . The chicken lemongrass plate (rice plates are great for one person) always does what it's supposed to but the beef?! & the shrimp?! *chefs kiss* Of course spring rolls are ALWAYS apart of the order (not pictured) and I tried the dried longan drink, it was interesting. It's not that sweet but not too bitter either, had a distinctive taste similar to the complimentary tea they serve you. I'd try another drink next time. I'll be back lol I'll always be back I come here at least 2x a month and I live on the other side of Brooklyn. Def try this place out!! You won't regret it

This was the first time i have gone to this place. Upon entering the place was very clean and nice. There was also a very nice scent and empty. The staff had a few pick up/deliveries order waiting. I ordered immediately and the staff lady was nice and quick to assist. I ordered something simple as it was the first time i came. I ordered a simple chicken and broccoli dish pver white rice. It cane Out within 10 mins and was only $11.35. It was really good. I cant complain even though it had lots of onions(which i am not fond of) but I can't complain as i had not asked what it had. Overall i will return

The aunties are mentioned often in other reviews, and that's because they're amazing. They'll gladly explain what you need, especially when it comes to the super tasty (and extremely inexpensive) deserts that populate racks and the drink fridges here. Some are sweet, some are sour (the deserts, that is), they'll let you know. Honesty since a cake here is $5, you can afford to try everything! How on to the main reason that you came, the Banh Mi. You literally can't go wrong with any of the eight main sandwiches here. I've tried them all so you don't have to, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't. The bread is crispy, the ingredients are super fresh, and the tastes combine perfectly. The decor is perfect for this kind of spot. No frills. There are three tables and a bunch of chairs. It's exactly what I want in a takeout type place. They concentrate on the food. So, to wrap this one up. Go. I'd say that I'll be back, but I've been coming here for years. The restrooms are conveniently located in the middle of the space. The staff were all efficient and constantly on the move. We had reservations for 2pm, and the restaurant was already packed when we arrived. We only had to wait a few minutes while our table was being cleared. The staff apologized. For drinks, we kept it non-alcoholic and ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee and a lychee fizz. To eat, we shared the papaya salad, rice cake omelette, grilled pork bun bowl, and the wok seared beef pho. Everything we tried was so flavorful and well prepared. One thing to note is that if you're planning to visit on a weekend their banh mi is only available from Friday to Sunday until 6pm. However, we go there on Sunday and ordered around 2:30ish and it was already sold out. So I suggest dining in earlier.

All four dishes were delicious, and I would highly recommend the spring rolls and beef pho. The beef pho broth had deep flavor, and the noodles had a great, chewy texture and were different from the typical pho noodles in Vietnamese restaurants. The pho is also served with their homemade sriracha and hoisin sauce. The beef slices in the pho were a bit dry and overcooked, but I would still recommend you try the pho here; it was delicious. The spring rolls were big and packed with filling. We really enjoyed them! The fish lettuce wrap platter and pork skewer platter were exactly the same with the exception of the protein. The platters come with rice paper wrappers that you dip into water for 30 seconds, lettuce, mint, basil, cilantro, pickled radish and carrot, and cucumbers. The platters were good but also seems like something you can easily make yourself at home. The fish was a bit dry and overcooked, but the pork skewers were well made. Although I really enjoyed the food here, it wasn't special enough for me to want to return to dine here. Service: Service was excellent, and staff were friendly. At 5pm, we were the first party of 2 to arrive, and soon after, three other parties came after us. I'm not sure why the hostess chose to seat all four parties in one small corner of the restaurant while the rest of the restaurant was completely empty. Tables were placed very closely together, and seating was a bit tight. It seemed odd to seat everyone in one corner even when the restaurant was clearly not filling up. Ambiance: The ambiance and decor is lovely here. Seating is very comfortable, and the place is beautiful. It's well-lit and has a nice outdoor garden feel with plenty of sunlight. The restaurant is pretty big with tables for both small and large groups. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant!
