Came for breakfast on Sunday morning. Very popular spot. Parking in the front was almost full. We were lucky to be seated right away. Nice and modern design. Clean. The service was great. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Yet the food was not up to par for me. Tea was Twinings brand. Standard. I got Phoebe's Benedict. The eggs were runny when I cut it. That was good. But I didn't like the buttermilk biscuit. It crumbled so much when eating. There's nothing to soak up the yolk. The hollandaise sauce was sweet and way too much on the plate. I couldn't even see what I'm eating. Tater tots were over fried. It broke in pieces when I used a fork. But other people in my group seemed to enjoy their food. So maybe it was my dish not done properly.
Phoebe's Diner is such a classic! The best tasting comfort food with a twist that you'll find. I've eaten the chicken and biscuit twice now because of their Uber Eats BOGO deal - it's just too good to pass up! I always order a side of garlic aioli to dip the potatoes in. It's sooo good. I've only gone during lunch time before the rush so everything has been on time. Everyone is so friendly too. You need to try it!! Also, large parking lot on site (huge plus)!
Phoebe's Diner is one of my favorite breakfast spots! If you're looking for a no-frills diner with consistently great food and fast service, this is it. The servers are always incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome every time. My go-to order is the chicken and grits--it's absolutely delicious and one of the best things on the menu. Everything I've had has been fresh, flavorful, and comes out quickly, making it a great place whether you're in a hurry or just craving a good breakfast. My only real complaint is that they don't offer a pancake combo, which I'd love to see added. The side items can also be a little pricey. Even with those minor drawbacks, the quality of the food and the excellent service keep me coming back. Definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots in town!
Solid 4. My friend and I were eating outdoor, I noticed lots of dogs hair on the tables, the same homeless woman passed tables a few times.... Our server was attentive. Food was good. I ordered migas. The best part ware potatoes, honestly. Nothing special. The only reason I went to meet my friend at this place is the reviews. Good reviews. Not my favorite though.
I was in the mood for classic diner-style breakfast, and after seeing so many great reviews, we decided to give Phoebe's Diner a try. From the moment we walked in, the hostess gave us a warm welcome, and we were seated right away. It took our server a little while to get to our table, but she arrived with waters in hand, which was appreciated. We started with the fried green tomatoes. They were good, though I've definitely had better back home in Houston. For my entrée, I ordered the Badass Bacon Plate, and it absolutely hit the spot. Everything on the plate was delicious, from the thick-cut slab of bacon to the perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. I especially appreciated that the eggs were seasoned before cooking, something I don't often see at restaurants, and it really made a difference. The hash brown casserole was also fantastic and tied the whole meal together. My brother ordered the fried chicken biscuit and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Although our server was clearly very busy, the restaurant had a great team approach. Other staff members checked on us, refilled drinks, and made sure we had everything we needed, so we never felt neglected. Overall, it was a great dining experience with delicious food, friendly hospitality, and excellent teamwork. I would definitely recommend Phoebe's Diner if you're looking for a satisfying breakfast or brunch in Austin.
If you're looking for a solid brunch spot with something on the menu for everyone, this is it! I love the sweet and savory options. They're both so creative and the portions are huge. Definitely start off with one of their appetizers. We were deciding between the tots and cornbread and opted for the cornbread. I liked that it came with 3 different spreads! The cornbread itself was well baked and sweet. The flapjacks were cooked good and fruit was very generous. The star of the show was definitely the chorizo hash. I loved how healthy and tasty it was! Slightly spicy but not too bad. Service was friendly and prompt. Food came out super fast as well.
Our first visit to Phoebe's Diner definitely won't be our last! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome with their friendly service and warm hospitality. The restaurant was spotless, and even the restroom was exceptionally clean, which says a lot about the pride they take in their establishment. The food was absolutely worth every penny. I highly recommend the Badass Bacon and eggs, it was delicious! My daughter ordered the Smoked Turkey on a Pretzel, and she loved every bite. We both took it to go but was happy and impressed with our meals. If you're looking for great food, excellent service, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend giving Phoebe's Diner a try. We can't wait to come back! My partner loves American diners. I found Phoebe's Diner on Yelp. We walked in and immediately felt at ease because the decor had a bio-filik, farm-chic vibe. My favorite part was that the restaurant was really clean, and we were seated right away. We looked at the menu, which offered many options. We ordered El Chango because it was on the seasonal menu, along with the green chorizo hash. The El Chango was like a cheeky monkey with a Scotch egg on a bed of avocado verde salsa. My partner really liked it because it was small enough to feel satisfying before lunch, and my chorizo hash was really good. It was healthier than I expected. I asked for the masa balls on the side and the cheese to be served separately. My meal was so well balanced that I was excited to eat it and look forward to ordering it again.
My wife and I came here for Sunday Brunch and really enjoyed our time here. I ordered the Migas and she ordered the shrimp and grits. My Migas were outstanding! I loved the hollandaise sauce on the eggs, the potatoes were cooked perfectly, but the crispy masa cakes were the real stars of the show. I also had to order some pancakes and they were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, also they were amazing! My wife said that was the best shrimp and grits she's ever had and the bartenders who served us were so very nice. They gave us some excellent recommendations and we will definitely be back.
It was my first time here, I've been wanting to try it for a little while. The Crab cake Benny was my favorite probably the best egg Benedict I had in awhile and it really went well with the crab cake. The banana fosters was really sweet, I love the pecans and the caramel sauce. Service was quick and friendly, definitely coming back for more.
So I was heading out of town going back home and my buddy called wanting to have breakfast. I looked up this location and the pictures looked pretty good. So decided to head over there and tried out. Once I got through the place was really nice, really clean and it was extremely packed.We waited about five minutes for a table, and they sat us down at four cedar. The server was really helpful.Brought us a menu.Everything looked pretty good.I decided to order the brisket burrito.It looked pretty good and he recommended it. I'm gonna start off by saying I got my meal about 10 minutes later. The potatoes were excellent loved. Em didn't have any complaints about Em. They tasted awesome. They were great now. On the other hand the burrito, not so much. The burrito was soggy, something was off with the meat. It tasted kind of bitter. I don't know if it was because of the barbecue sauce or what I ate about.Half of it before I couldn't eat it anymore. And I tossed it the other half. I was extremely disappointed with the meal.I paid about twenty four twenty five dollars.I believe for the meal and had to throw half of it away.Because it just didn't taste right.I didn't wanna make an issue. It looked phenomenal, just didn't taste like that. The other gripe I had was, I took a bite out of some of the burrito and noticed that it was a big glob of fat. Instead of actual brisket meat I probably should have stuck with the regular, which would have been bacon and eggs.But decided to try that.Because the way to recommended it sad I didn't stay with the eggs and bacon. Great experience at Phoebe's Diner! The Cheeky Monkey and Brisket Benny were both savory and delicious. A huge standout was the French Toast,it tasted lovely and reminded me almost of a funnel cake! If you love a bold cup of coffee, the Café du Monde is a must-order. The Nitrochata was okay but a bit too mellow for my taste. Despite it being very busy, the staff was super friendly and kept things moving. I'll definitely be back!
If you have been to their location off of Oltorf, identical menus as expected. However, this location has a much larger seating capacity and more abundant parking. The food is delicious as usual. I went with my usual Big Bacon and Eggs. They had some specials going on, but I couldn't pass up on the big slab of bacon. Service seemed kind of busy due to the amount of people here. The ambiance of the facility is really nice. It felt very open and a lot of lighting with all the windows. The staff here are friendly as their other location.

Phoebe's is one of my go-to spots to take guests and friends, when they are in town visiting. This location is great for inside or outside seating. We had a dog with our group and we were easily set outside and they brought a bowl of water for her too. The food is always on point. The selection of food is unique and special, not just your typical breakfast food. We always start with the cornbread and the sides (butter and jam) to pair the cornbread with is so good. Their breakfast brisket burrito is absolutely amazing! Big enough for 2 people or to take home for leftovers. And the hash brown casserole comes with it is just as good, you have to try it! The bake eggs dish is a cool dish you don't expect, very good. Their drinks are great. And the decor inside is fun and cute. read more

We love diners and just found out about this location. It was cute inside with a mix of tables and booths. The staff is friendly and so very hard working. Food was delicious with just a few misses. Biscuit and sausage gravy - incredible! We couldn't get enough. Goat cheese grits - so creamy and good. Brisket Benny - very good, though the flavors of the bbq sauce and hollandaise sauce clashed a bit. The side of hashbrown casserole had absolutely no flavor. It was the only thing we ordered that we absolutely didn't like at all, and unfortunately, it went uneaten. Fried Green Tomato BLT was so very good, and the jalapeno remoulade brought everything together in a delightful way. I prefer crispy bacon, but this sandwich had very thick-cut chewy bacon. The tater tots were over-fried, so was just burnt oil in the middle. Brisket burrito and side of red potatoes was delicious. The salsa provided with it is of the smoky variety for those that have a preference one way or the other. There are so many things to try on the menu that I'm sure will be back to give it another go. read more

We love Phoebes!!!!!! We have been here a few times and have always had the most wonderful time This time we got the horchata French toast (seasonal item) and the mozzarella omelette and the food was incredible!! The tomato gravy on the omelette is so crazy good. The drinks are really good as well. I've enjoyed the mimosas every time. Ambiance is fantastic. Gives a classic diner feel that I think is pretty rare in Austin. The service is really what to write home about. All the times we have been here our servers have been incredible no matter how busy it got. This time we had Beth and she was just fantastic!! Love this place will always recommend. read more
Our last dining experience in Austin before heading back to Boston. And it was great! Very cute ambience-old fashioned diner look. Our server, Ry, was super friendly and enthusiastic and offered up their suggestions and favorites to help us order. I had the Natalie's juice which was refreshing and tasted yummy healthy. My husband had the brisket Benny which was fabulous! I had the shrimp and grits, and as Ry noted, the goat cheese made the grits extra creamy and provided a bit of tang. We also had the fried green tomatoes but we were so full that we only had a few bites. We brought them back to our hotel in hopes of snacking on them later but regrettably, we left them in our hotel fridge. Great ending to a fun weekend getaway! read more
Came here for a group brunch last weekend and overall had a great experience with the food, beverages, service, and overall ambiance! I normally pass by Phoebe's when driving from the Domain, and because of its location by a busy, traffic-ridden road, I never considered it as a place worth checking out. My sister was the one who suggested it after we decided to do a group lunch on a Sunday morning and wanted to pick a convenient location in North Austin. Getting a table at 9:30am was no issue. That's probably the sweet spot in regards to snagging a table during competitive weekend brunch hours. We were also able to eat outside, which was a refreshing change since the summer months in Austin prevent that from being an option! I got black coffee, which was pretty standard in regards to black coffee offerings from brunch spots. For my meal, I got the baked eggs which sounded intriguing, but it was actually more like a tomato soup with two poached eggs mixed in...the toast was nicely buttered and crunchy though! Our server was friendly and attentive, and overall, dining here was a pleasant experience! read more

Well, after a few visits since the opening this year, I'm bumping down to a solid 3.5 stars. There's plenty to like at Phoebe's but there are other brunch options in the area with better-prepared food at a better price-point and Phoebe's could improve along those lines. Things I like: - varied menu with something for every taste or health preference - the dining room & outdoor spaces are large enough that the wait is usually not bad - staff is friendly and responsive - that French Toast - decent enough brunch alcohol options for those who want that Things that annoy: - most menu items are over-the-top, over-seasoned, over-sauced calorie-bombs; so much cheese, salt, & grease - prices are high for breakfast basics - parking is tough during peak hours - aggressive birds nesting on the covered porch will attack you throughout your meal if you sit out there During my last visit, I was disappointed by the chile relleno that came with undisclosed (what appeared to be) Hot Cheeto coating. Why would you ruin a delicious, already spiced dish with that abomination? To make matters worse, the scrambled egg stuffing was overcooked to the texture of a shredded Croc (the shoe for Dads). With Taco Deli, Cafe Java, and Original Pancake House so close, I'll likely choose one of those over Phoebe's for my next family brunch outing. read more

I honestly don't understand why this place has such a high rating -- maybe it's just because there aren't many breakfast spots in Austin? It honestly felt like the food was cooked for pigs. Everything looked unappetizing and downright ugly. The quality was terrible and the taste even worse. The bacon was as thick as a steak and dripping in grease. The coffee was sour. And the French toast? I've never seen anything like it -- basically a dry, greasy crouton drowning in a mountain of fatty whipped cream. This might be the worst restaurant I've ever been to. The only redeeming quality was the service -- the waiters were nice and attentive. But whoever is in the kitchen seriously needs to go learn how to cook actual food. read more

Food: * Cornbread: Delicious, with three different spreads that each brought out unique flavors. * Brisket Burrito: This one was a bit dry, so not our favorite. * Chorizo Hash: Absolutely loved it! The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors blended perfectly. * Maza Cakes: Tried these for the first time and highly recommend them. There's always a wait here, but that's how most of Austin is and it usually indicates that the food is going to be very good. I tried the monthly special and the ribeye inside the omelette was excellent. The rest of the dish was just strange. Boursin cheese worked well with the meat, but I don't think it benefited from the Demi glacé at all. And the mashed potato? I'm not sure how that fits in but it was tasty. Weird but good. I think I would have preferred the whole thing to not be an omelette because it just didn't make sense while eating it. Separately everything had good flavor. Together it didn't. After seeing this establishment on Instagram, I knew I had to try it. Spenser was our server, and he was invaluable. He recommended excellent choices. The restaurant was cute and clean. We got a book of dad jokes to keep us entertained, but our service was speedy and excellent. Now to the best part of the experience...THE FOOD! We ordered chicken fried mozzarella and fried green tomatoes for the appetizer, and boy, was it DELICIOUS. I've never had fried green tomatoes before, but I was impressed. Next, we had chicken-fried steak and a brisket burrito, a fried chicken sandwich, and deep-fried French toast, Badass bacon and eggs, and two stacks of pancakes. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The only issue I had was the minimal amount of brisket in the humongous burrito. 10/10 read more

Service was ok. My server was nice but didn't really go out of his way like the other servers did. The other servers introduced themselves to their customers and checked on them frequently. I just didn't get that same type of customer service. I was not checked on. I had to ask for a water refill. As for the food it was ok. I got the Bad Ass bacon & Eggs. Eggs and bacon were fine. The potato casserole was more like a potato cupcake. Just not good. I was visiting the Austin area and saw the great reviews here. I did enjoy my Bloody Mary. Would I go back again? Maybe. read more

My awesome fellow teachers and I were all debating about the best casual brunch spots in Austin on Friday, and my offering was Jack Allen's! The hubby and I love that place! Somebody else mentioned Phoebe's Diner, and he said that you haven't lived if you haven't tried their Bananas Foster French Toast. I'm not much of a sweet brunch person, but my husband definitely is, so we're headed there on this Labor Day weekend Sunday to finally give Phoebe's a shot! Bonus: I hear that they have mimosas, which are a must for a proper brunch IMO. LOL! I LOVE that they have a Yelp waitlist option! I just popped us on there. 30 to 45 minutes isn't too shabby at 11:45am! (they actually just sat us way early! We feel lucky!) This place has such cute vibes, y'all! It's so stinkin' brunchy! Busy and vibey! Our server is Lillian, and she's darling! We ordered the Premium Juice Carafe with Blood Orange and Grapefruit to start out because...why not, right? We got the Cheeky Monkey as a snack, and then hubby, of course, got the Bananas Foster French Toast, and a side of bacon for that savory balance, per Lillian's suggestion. Genius! I ordered Phoebe's Benedict with hard eggs because I'm not a fan of runny. Sacrilege, I know! Here are our thoughts! Cheeky Monkey: While we gave away our menus, so we're not sure what's in this besides a poached egg, this is AWESOME! Crispy, creamy, and the gravy is to DIE for! It's reminiscent, says my husband, of a British scotch egg, but on steroids! He's a huge fan! I'm saving myself for brekky, but he's devouring it! Bananas Foster French Toast: This. Is. Insane. One bite into it, and it has become Chris's favorite French toast in, and I quote, THE ENTIRE WORLD! He's adding it to the finale of his last meal on Death Row. Phoebe's Benedict: This was some serious buttery goodness! I'll be honest, y'all, that it was slightly too much for me! It almost looked like the French toast when it was being brought out, but trust me when I say that it was delicious! The bread is their biscuit, I think, and slap yo mama! DECADENT! It just lacked a tad bit of freshness for my preference, but that's ENTIRELY on me for not reading the menu properly! Next time, I'm all in on the Pimento Omelette! All in all, we're charmed and delighted, and the place was a winner winner! We're adding it to our repertoire, for sure! So fun! And such positive energy! We hopped in line ahead of time via Yelp! Our table was ready in less than 5 minutes. Service was very fast and the waiter provided great insight on the menu items. We ordered the fried green tomatoes which are breaded in a cornmeal batter and served with ranch and hot sauce. 8/10 I tried the beet hash (vegetarian) it was really delicious! The egg and guac on top was a nice touch and really brought it all together ! 10/10 We also has the burrata omelette which came with a delectable tomato gravy, and a healthy scoop of pesto. Kinda reminded me of a homemade tomato and Basil soup. We ordered a side of sourdough to dip in the gravy! 10/10 They have a lot of austin texas and modern decor with unique lighting. There was a wait but we got seated within 10 minutes of putting our name on the list and there was 4 of us. Our waiter Ernesto was amazing and easy to speak with! He definitely deserves a raise! I had the pimento omelet, my daughter had the kids bacon and eggs, my mom got some al a carte items, and my sister had the badass bacon and eggs. I cleaned my plate it was great! They have some cute quotes on the walls also. Great place for brunch or breakfast. read more
The food: I had the chicken and grits which had some decent heat on it. I enjoyed it but by the end was pushing through the hot maple syrup. I had a margarita that was ok but not that I would get again. I think I just ended up ordering something's that I didn't love but I am confident I would feel more satisfied during a second visit. The vibe: great brunch spot. Came with some friends and we stayed for quite awhile catching up. We did not feel rushed and our server was awesome. Phoebe's Diner is an excellent spot for brunch in Austin! There's new dishes I've never had and classic dishes with a little bit of a twist. I ended up getting the nitro-chata - it was good but it was a smaller portion than what I'd pay for at a coffee shop. I also ordered the burrata omelette and a side of biscuits with the sage gravy. My husband ordered the migas and a side of buttermilk pancakes. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomach because we didn't even finish half our food before we were stuffed and took home the leftovers (no regrets at all though) Everything we ordered was delicious, my favorites being the burrata omelette and pancakes! The biscuits tasted even better the next day as it soaked up all the gravy. Even though the wait was ~45 minutes, it was really convenient to put our name on the wait-list so we only waited a few minutes when we got to the restaurant in person. I'd def recommend Phoebes Diner to anyone who wants to have a delicious, hearty brunch! read more

I love diners, Phoebe's is a very capable We ordered some breakfast prior to a meetup with our godson in Cedar Park. It wasn't too early on a Saturday morning, but we were able to walk in and get a table prior to a brunch-time lunch. We shared their deep fried green tomatoes, which were crisp and the coating did not fall off when you cut into the tomato slices. They came with six slices and were very good. My son ordered and demolished his Bad Ass Bacon and Eggs. The eggs were fluffly and the bacon was thick. My daughter destroyed her waffles, they were the right combo of crispy and fluffy. I ordered the chile relleno, and it was pretty good. My order came with chopped potatoes, and I also ordered a side of bacon. It was a lot of good food. The chile is stuffed with cheese, and inside a deep fried panko cover. I would love to try their shrimp and grits (or other variants), they also looked good from where I was sitting. :). . Let me tell you, when this place gets busy, it gets busy. It was quiet when we got there, but sometime during our enjoying our food, it got really busy. Visited for a casual Saturday morning brunch date. Fortunately, we went in the sweet spot of early enough that there was no wait, and service was quick and easy! The food was basic and nothing special, however, their menu has quite the variety so there is definitely a little something for everyone - from your standard eggs and pancakes to specialties and even BBQ. Overall, I'd give it 3-3.5/5 for being a decent, no frills diner. But compared to other spots around Austin it wouldn't be my go-to. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, their north location is situated in a small strip of restaurants/businesses with a regular open parking lot. - Reservations? No, but you can join the waitlist ahead of time if it's busy! - Price range: $-$$ (we spent $60 incl. tax/tip) FOOD & DRINK: - Vietnamese iced coffee (4/5): This was pretty good, and I was surprised they offered it. Strong as always but a good balance of sweetness. - Pimiento cheese omelette w/hash brown casserole (3/5): A very cheesy omelette with a variety of cheeses. It was good overall but would be nice with some green onion or something to break through all the heaviness of the cheese. Hash brown casserole was okay - it needed salt! - Chicken fried steak (4/5): Decent portion and good gravy. The runny egg is perfect with it. Nicely cooked. - Pancakes (4/5): A short stack (2) for $5.99. Kept it classic and didn't opt for any toppings. Straight forward, solid pancakes! read more

We came on a Sunday morning before any big rush around 9:30. The two hosts seemed disheveled when we arrived and didn't really greet us as they were looking at the seating chart. I'll give them some leeway as this establishment opened recently. Once we were sat at a table, a server shortly after greeted us and took our beverage order. The restaurant is decorated like an upscale modern dinner. It echoes a lot off the walls of the restaurant, sometimes making people's voices loud and noisy. Per recommendation from the server I ordered the baked eggs and my partner ordered the Phoebe's Benedict. When the items came out they were a bit unexpected based off the description. My dish was two over-easy eggs in a creamy tomato sauce, mushrooms in a small cast iron, and the smallest piece of sourdough toast. Of course, my overzealous self tries to eat the item immediately and ends up burning the roof of my mouth. The dish was tasty but I don't feel that it was worth the extra $2 for another piece of sourdough toast. My partner's Benedict was the most peculiar benedict I've seen in some time. The biscuits were dense with the poached egg hiding underneath a large piece of ham topped off with hollandaise sauce with a hash brown casserole. Very cute diner and great as a casual brunch spot. We were seated immediately (we went close to when they opened) and the place was decently busy. Service was great, quick, and we got everything we needed. The food here is so good if you're looking for a breakfast spot that also has a touch of southern comfort food. I will warn you that the food is very filling, heavy and rich (at least the stuff we ordered). If you're gonna start your day here, you better plan for a nap after because you will be in a food coma. read more
