For Madera its ok. Def make the drive to fresno for better pho and asian food. Very slow so goodluck on your lunches.

If I could give lower than a 1 star then I would. 1. Servers were rude and didn't acknowledge me for being the only customer in the place for 10 mins, then was asked "how may I help you" by the cashier who wasnt wearing a mask who was also making boba and packing bags witn another lady about 8 feet away from me and behind a plexi glass, the combination of the whole experience made me irratated and I just wanted to get out of there. 2. Told them I ordered online (yelp) and told them my phone number and then the server pushed the bags in front for me take away. 3. I took my order away and was contacted by phone that I took half of the wrong order away. In my mind seeing you push the bags towards me was you telling me what was mine. 4. After coming home, I reviewed the order and realized it was wrong and noticed the call from the restaurant. I asked what they wanted me to do and they said to bring the food back to get my correct order. I also mentioned the food has been in our place and we touched the food containers to verify the food... They still wanted it back. 5. We then had to drive back to return the food that was given to us "mistakenly" so I apologized if you were served the food that you rightfully ordered but was returned from us during these COVID times, dont worry we are sanitary. 6. I ordered combination Pho that comes with red meat and also asked for extra steak but received only a seafood pho, where's the beef man and the extra I paid for. With the mix up and all I had to reheat the broth so my noodles will cook properly. Food delivery 2/10, 2 for having half of what I requested to the plate and being luke warm. Broth is above average but customer service is beyond terrible. Due to COVID guidelines this place should be closed down. Would not recommend until they fix their services and COVID guidelines. read more

We traveled to the area and craved for pho and spring rolls. So, against the negative reviews from others, we went to Pho' Dera because we did not want to drive another twenty minutes to other pho places. We had the pho, spring rolls, and the beef chow fun. We didn't find pho soup to be too salty, but we think it was too sweet. The meats in the pho were tougher than the phos meats we had from other restaurants. The rice noodle (chow fun) was also dry and hardened as though it had been left out for too long. I don't recommend this place. read more

Being that this is the only pho place in Madera, they're actually pretty good. My rating in this case is not based around the food, but the sanitation and customer service this place has. Which is none. My coworkers and I have been going here for several years, but have been disappointed by the service most every time. And today as I was waiting for our order, I witnessed the woman who was working the register leave the register to serve a few customers without washing her hands. Normally not a huge deal (despite the fact that we're still in the middle of a pandemic) but then she went to the kitchen which I had full view of her, she took some tongs to add sprouts onto a plate, and then USED HER DIRTY HANDS TO STRAIN THEM!!!!!!!! I'm what universe would that ever be okay. No gloves, no hand washing, hands directly on the sprouts. Gross. read more

I stopped here because the reviews were good. I was not disappointed! I ordered fried wontons as a started and they were super tasty and not overly greasy and the dipping sauce was...ok. A lot like other dipping sauces I've tried. I ordered Pho for my main dish. The broth was amazing! You can tell they took the time to simmer it over a good chunk of hours, it was just flavorful AF!!! Plenty of tripe/roast beef and the sausage was very tasty. The service was great, though the owner/supervisor was sitting at a table away from everyone on her phone and just looking at the tables that had been seated/served and enjoying their meals. Wow... I wanted to give this place one more chance.. I'm on a mission to help small businesses in our area but after reading the reviews, I'm. Not so sure anymore. it's been over 2 yrs since I visited this place for some boba. While I was paying for my boba, a lady (prob the owner or a relative) picked up a dead cockroach off the floor and threw it at the cashier like it's suppose to be funny! Good food, Good prices and a Clean restaurant. For two people to enjoy pho is around sixteen dollars. The vegetables/herbs look fresh. The peanut sauce is good and if you like your soup spicy add extra chilli oil or get the spicy broth. The calamari has some good flavors the teriyaki bowls are good and the spring rolls are decent. True story, my wife and I ordered pho and the meat was green, slimy and chewy. I told the cashier and she gave me a BS story about the light rays hitting the meat. We immediately walked out of the restaurant leaving our bowls full. As we walked out, we seen the cashier taste our food with the same spoons we were eating out of. She then shrugged her shoulders as if it was good enough and poured our food back into the pot to serve to a later costumer. I wish I could give this restaurant negative stars. read more

Delightful little strip mall Pho place. Great service and atmosphere. Good Pho. We were driving up 99 and used Yelp to locate "good Asian restaurants" and found Pho'dera. It's very easy freeway access. But we'd already taken the wrong exit so we drove around Madera a bit. We had two medium bowls of chicken pho and ended up with enough take-home for two more meals! Surprise surprise! I would have never imagined finding a little gem like this in Madera. I can only speak about their Pho... as you know the broth makes it or breaks it. We stopped here for a to-go order before our movie at the drive in. Food was surprisingly very flavorful. I ordered the Mongolian beef and subbed fried rice instead of white. My husband ordered the pork chop with steamed white rice and an eggroll added. The person on the phone was very helpful and took time to answer all of my questions since it was my first time ordering/ eating there. We both enjoyed our meals. I ordered from this restaurant not having high expectations because I'm a bit of a food snob after having lived in the SF Bay Area for 25 years where Vietnamese food is delicious and plentiful. We ordered the soup with roasted pork and shrimp, which came in 2 containers; a quart of broth and a clamshell of the meat, shrimp, bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeños in slices, udon noodles, cilantro and lime. The broth itself was outstanding! Deeply flavorful and with the accompanying ingredients, so delicious! We also ordered spring rolls with peanut sauce, and sesame balls for dessert. The pho was decent, but definitely not as good as I'm used to -- meats were not the typical ones in pho -- but I still left satisfied. Not the best I've ever tried but it really is good. The dumplings were a waste of money for me (at least the fried ones were) but the pho was worth it for sure. I have yet to try their boba but I pray it is off the chain. A nice spot to hang out and have a good meal. The service is fast. The piña colada is one of the best I ever had but missing the alcohol , that's too bad. Just order yourself a cup and take it home to mix with your rum . Don't order the large pho unless you plan to be doing an eating challenge. The pho is served in a humongous bowl which I didn't expect but no complaints here. Pho'dera has the potential to be a good restaurant but after eating there for years I've all but given up. My biggest gripe is the customer service. I don't expect servers to go above and beyond at all but here it seems that no one tries. They stagger the order that food comes out in so there have been many times where I go with a group of people and our food comes out at weirdly spaced times, so if the first person who receives their food starts eating right away they can be done by the time the last person receives their food. This doesn't make for a great dining experience. Additionally, several times we have placed an order and they never bring out items that we ordered. The food is hugely inconsistent, sometimes the food is delicious and fresh, sometimes it is lacking and tastes off. I wish Pho'dera would improve since Madera has very limited dining options. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! In order to force me to buy a bottle of water, they told me they can't serve the tap water because it's contaminated, yet that's the same water they're using to make the soup!! So either the soup is cooked with contaminated water or they lie in order to up charge you for a bottle of water when drinking water by law should be free. read more

This restaurant has to improve on their cleanliness and friendliness. The waitress is awesome but the owners/ workers seem indifferent and cold. It's very difficult to enjoy your meal while being attacked by flies. Also, the condiments on the table are filthy and there were several dead flies that had been smashed against the walls, leaving a repulsive image for customers to view. Think about it? ? Flies...Filthy..#### I personally love Vietnamese Food, but this place is simply disgusting. The #10 Pho was served to me lukewarm in temperature and the soup had a tangy taste. The fried calamari served as an appetizer, was under cooked and drenched in oil. I could not finish my food and I wouldn't dare take leftovers home to my children. In the future, I will stick with ordering their drinks only as a last resort for Bobas. This was my second chance visit , but I can't do it! I'm not a fan of Pho, but my husband and daughter love this place. Seems we have been in every week.. they will get pho while our other daughter gets rice or noodle dishes.
